Forgot to mention how fun it is to see how things progress colourwise on your 1999 pullover. Your tenacity and willingness to rip out and change things is so validating! Take care, Mamma Bear! You're such an AWESOME mom!

When you get down to your last little scrappy bits of your fabrics, you could make some of those bucket hats. That would be really fun for next summer!

Thank you so much for this video! You did manage to get one out each week all summer, in spite of all you've been up to! AMAZING that you managed to get so many things accomplished this summer!! Enjoy Lotus' final year at public school, along with all the newness of Bowie moving to junior high! You really knocked your summer right out of the park with all your activities and projects! I LOVE your 4-way top and skirt. It has such a classy designer vibe. Dinah's approval was really sweet too! Thank you for showing us your Iowa State Fair experience. I love the suggestions the judges made. Definitely things to keep in mind for all of us and so fun to hear how delighted the older generation was with all of you and your friends' entries and participation. Sending you wishes for a speedy recovery of your burn. Hand injuries are really not okay for the likes of us.

Hi Jen- I so enjoy your videos. Thank you for sharing and appreciate the time that it takes. My oldest is also a senior in high school and my youngest is starting 7th grade. I have a 3rd that is a freshman. I understand the feelings and the quiet house. It is definitely an adjustment. Love the state fair! Your sewing is getting me back in the mood to sew. I grew up sewing and stopped when my kids were little and had started quilting but seeing your garments makes me want to sew for myself again. See you next saturday❤

For a not-pink girl, your mostly pink skirt/top with the mix and match patterns is pretty fabulous on you! Love your creativity and how it all turned out!

My daughter is a senior this year also 😭. I love watching your video each Saturday morning while I drink my coffee and knit - it’s fun to see what all you’ve been making. Your 1999 sweater is looking great!

Hurray for summer sewing success! 🎉 it motivates me to sew more. I organized a woman cave (read here sewing room) in my downstairs bedroom so I don’t have to use the kitchen table anymore and I can just leave everything and close the door when I am done! Makes the process so much more enjoyable. Congrats on the ribbon!

I want some of that fabric to make a duvet from my bed. I love the color combos in that fabric. Where we live in Texas new schools are being built without lockers and they are removing lockers from older schools. One good thing our district has done is universal free breakfast and lunch. I have a junior in college and a 7th grader. Life is crazy busy right now. Your cat Dinah makes a great co-host.

So many fun things in this week’s episode! I laughed out loud with you as you switched the skirt fabric to the front! You’re so clever😊. Best wishes to everyone for a new school year! It’s always a time of so many intense emotions! Even though my kids are no longer in school 😢 I’m still working in education and can relate to it all!💕

Love hearing about your fair entries. My I’m was a big fair volunteer and we keep the pie contest going in her memory. My suggestion is to knit your Rhinebeck sweater early and enter it next year because it will be fresh.

Love your 1999 sweater. I had a sudden memory of my favorite tight and stretchy striped turtleneck in seventh or eighth grade. I loved it and it was before I developed so it didn’t matter. Ha ha I would frog starting with the light blue, add the deep orange and continue the darker colors to the end.

I love the sewn outfit. I am truly inspired to get back to my fabric stash and cut out a bunch of dress no 2s - I have made probably 40 of them, some dresses, mostly tunics that I wear with skirts and leggings as my "uniform". I need to check out that book again, because I have Sonya's skirt no 1 pattern, it's very different from the A line skirt you show, and I like yours better than the ones I've made, plus the pattern uses a lot more fabric (lots of relatively useless scraps afterward). Still have a small pile of patches, ready to send if your daughter is still working on that project....

FYI, we just dropped our youngest child, our daughter off at school, talk about a quiet house. We miss her a lot. Also, hip, hip, hooray for your 4 outfits in one. I might have to copy this idea. Love it!

My son is a junior in college. He and his high school friends still do sunrise before they leave to go back university for the year and sunset when they come back for summer . They’re all spread out across the country so schedules are different but whatever works for most plus FaceTime . IT’S THE SWEETEST!!!

Hi Jen, You are so stylish. Although all iterations of your top/shirt are lovely, I Love the vertical/horizontal view of your outfit. I agree, that you should remove the light colored stripes from the bottom of your sweater. The light colored stripes at the neck, reminds me of a necklace, so this is why it looks more appealing to my senses at the top of your sweater vs the bottom. Take care❤

love your new skirt+top set! Could you wear the skirt rotated for 90 degrees, so that in the front and in the back of the skirt you could see half of the top pattern???

When you shifted your skirt you could wear the side as front so half of each was pretty as well

On the top, did you use the back pattern for both sides to get them to match? I love the reversible idea! I like the mismatch together too. My BFF gave me one of those magnetic seam guides. It's a great tool.

Jen, I sympathize with your realization of how fast time flies - our kids are through college & married - life does not stand still. You seem to accomplish SO MUCH - could your emotions be feeding your creativity? Whatever it is you are an inspiration and I love watching your episodes. Even Dinah is excited about everything. Sending you speeding healing for your burn - that sounds so painful!!!! Take good care ....I agree with susanteminsky1078..."You're an AWESOME mom!" 🧶
