irl different bus companies or school districts chose if you take your bus home or not. Usually you don't see it with big buses but some places it's like "if you have enough space for the type of bus you have in your driveway, you can take it home."
As a School Bus Driver we have our own bus. I drive the same bus you are driving (Freightliner Thomas Built Saf-T-Liner C2) The only time i drive another bus is when my bus is in for its yearly inspection or maintenance. We have spare buses and if there are no spare bus, then i would drive someone else’s bus. When covering a route sometimes which is rare i would drive the bus for that specific route. During the summer i use another bus from a smaller company that is owned by my bus company which happens to be the same bus. These ones are always newer. Have been doing summer routes in Queens for 4 years now and driving school buses for 5 years in LongIsland. You can take your bus home overnight which is referred to ‘home bus’. You can take your bus home during the day and use it to do what you have to do during the day as well. Most of the time i’ll get my car if im going to an appointment or somewhere important because parking can sometimes be hard to find and i get around quicker since you i cant take parkways in the bus unless its the small bus.
He Steve. I drove school bus in real life and school buses cannot turn right on red. I noticed that you made a turn on red and said school bus can turn on red. They cannot.
