USA School Supplies FAQs (Please read this before you go down below to say anything): 1. Yes, the schools in the USA really do ask parents to buy things. 2. Yeah, wow, that’s crazy. 3. No, we don’t like it, either, but that’s life. 4. A great deal of the money allocated to “education” in the USA never makes it to the teachers, students, and schools for basic supplies. That is not a subject for this channel. We’re here to relax, not debate stuff. You can do that elsewhere. 5. No matter what country you live in, you have to pay for dumb things, too. 6. No, parents are not punished if they either can’t or won't bring in these supplies. No consequences await those who don’t contribute. However, the teachers and other school staff members often pay for supplies out of their own pocket when no one provides them, and that can cost hundreds/thousands of dollars a year. Hopefully, by donating these things, we can help prevent at least a little bit of that. 7. No, nobody cares to hear how awesome your country is. This is not a contest. No matter where you live in the world, you'll find people who are struggling. Maybe you can take that all-caps energy and help someone in your area. A little kindness goes a long way. 8. The Ziploc bags are used for a variety of things in the classroom. It may seem like a strange request, but they come in handy to store little bits of stuff, fragile projects, and dirty clothes, among other things. 9. I will continue to do these back-to-school shopping trips to help out my community every year, as long as I am financially able to do so. In a perfect world, it wouldn’t be necessary to buy any of these things, but we don’t live in a perfect world. I want to help as many people as I can, for as long as I can. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s relax and enjoy some school supplies. 😊
I spent 20 years working in retail and took great pride in leaving my section looking immaculate. When I'd come in for my next shift and it looked exactly like your footage here, I could have wept. It was soul destroying. Some people are such arseholes in shops. I genuinely don't know how they can trash the place while just shopping!
I finished school in 2018 but oh boy, now I want to go buy new pencils and fancy pencilcases and notebooks… i love stationary and I loved buying new school supplies each year. The best part of the new school year.😂
Someone on TikTok posted about you and I’m so happy! It was a positive one ❤ and you are one of my favorite asmrtist so I’m glad your finally getting more recognition 🥹
6:55 a lot people use them for Bullet journaling: a method of using a notebook to organize daily activities, review past events, and plan for the future. It's a combination of a daily planner, to-do list, and diary that can be used for many purposes.
I’ve loved watching this series for the last few years and I’m honoured to be the 1000th like on this video! thank you so much for making these videos and allowing me to escape into this chill little world shopping with you💕💕
Yay another back to school shopping video 😊 lol I picked up the same cat today at Walmart in Murfreesboro, didn't buy it but picked it up to look at them, so adorable. OMG that is the biggest package of tissues I've ever seen! 😮
I always enjoy these back to school videos, thanks Mary! In the old days we didn't get our list until the 1st day of school. Had to fight everyone else in the store at 4pm. 😂
Went to Walmart today to buy donation supplies for my old grammar school and they moved all the school supplies to the lawn and garden section. Dropping off the supplies tomorrow
Question from someone from the UK, but are they extremely strict about the binder sizes and brands and everything? In the UK all of our needed supplies are typically provided for us so 😮 it must be crazy trying to find all that stuff in just a few days!!
It sucks that the school were so late in producing a list and yet probably were upset when the kids couldn't get the supplies they needed because they were all purchased or as you showed messed up. I wonder that you couldn't have either borrowed a similar list for the respective grade from another school district or used some intuition about what was required by older kids in previous years. Surely a bit of cdf would work. Its great that you so generously donate for less well off students. It is a sad state of affairs that tax dollars dont get funnelled to the proper channels. God bless for the new school years.
