As a newly passed class 1 driver (Milk Tankers at the moment) I watch all the UK HGV Vloggers picking up little tips here and there, you are by far the best and most informative, we don't need to see driving down a road with shit music, but the actual work and driving/reversing into tight spots, like you show, thanks! the rest have gone a bit self important in my opinion. Keep up the good work and keep it real ;)
I only just read Suggsy Blackburns comment how right is he in my opinion .YOU are the best truck vlogger on youtube not up you'r own arse tell the truth as is and admit you'r mistakes not many but we all make them no matter how old or experienced we get.I agree with him some truck vloggers seem to know everything about driving a truck/wagon but don't show everything like you do.Keep listening to Raul Suggsy good luck driving ..
Keep safe Mate 👍 done the job for 40 years NOW it is crap now wonder there is a driver shortage treated like a slave and all that responsibility driving 44 tones 😱
I always do pal. Thise wedge trailers have an angle too. So raising to much will be a problem cuz it's to steep and you won't be able to stop the pallets 😄
Next time, if there is a next time😄 don't take the first turn at brighouse. Carry on round anticlockwise to to font of store. I work at b&m and been to this store many times
Bro you like to make it hard for yourself or what? I guess makes the footage more dramatic. Why didn't you just go straight, instead of the first left in the carpark, counterclockwise against the arrows and then reverse straigth back in? Or have I missed something. Anyways great driving, as a fresh pass you are an inspiration to me.
@@Raul689 yea. It was caused by another accident ahead of us, a car on roof with someone lying in the road. I slowed to a stop with hazards on and then suddenly, BOOM!
omg mate you move about i have watched 3 videos of you at 3 different companies . b&m don't own there wagons they are leased and serviced by hale bank scania in widnes .
Morning anvo great video am likein all the interesting work you do really make me want jump back on agency work agin keep up the great work if you would give me a shout out its carl in wigan thanks ha👍
Unfortunately lorry driving is poorly paid, to long working hours, and full of loads of restrictions, and that cpc rubbish just about did it for a lot of people, store deliveries are crap, your lucky to get 2 words out of the warehouse idiots. Enjoy your few hours rest before the next shift🙄 take care💪👍
Reminds me on doing Pallet Line deliveries. The weight on some of the pallets was just crazy! and you get zero help from the shop or business you deliver too. Good luck!
34:55 Raul says 10.80 an hour on containers, and this video was three years ago(2021?), I was on 11.50 an hour in 2003 just driving milk tankers, and even that rate wasn't brilliant then.
I just want to say I have spent the last 3 weeks watching all 69 of your truck driving videos. To advise others, when you go to Raul’s RU-vid page, click on VIDEOS and then select DATE ADDED (OLDEST) and this will put them all in order from the earliest first. Thank you Raul for excellent contents and sometimes funny humour. Keep them coming and will continue to watch.
Regarding your recent live stream; Great VLOG Raul & Co I'm sorry I missed it when it was live. I am currently an owner driver courier in a LWB van, I'm considering moving on to trucks although it won't be for at least a few year. I have done quite a lot of research into being an owner driver class 1 driver with the plan being to have my Operating Centre in the North West probably Deeside or the M56 corridor area. It seems to me that there are 2 main options for getting work; Option 1 - Sub contract to one company for all your work, this is what most drivers do either traction only or supplying a trailer too. Generally paid at £1.40 to £1.50 for all miles loaded and unloaded, can do containers or general haulage mainly curtainsider. A 'good' week is 1500 miles, Monday to Friday. With this kind of work they expect you to tramp out most if not all of the week, you have the independence to chose who you work for but during the week they plan all your jobs and you basically do as your told. Lot's of companies offering this work on containers, Maritime have a bad reputation but some of the smaller ones like BCD who you've done work for might be better? On the curtainsiders there is Barron Wood who have work nationally but are based in Preston and have more work in the North West area than anywhere else. I know Maxi Haulage in your area use subbies on a traction only bases so no need to buy/hire your own trailer. These type of companies have short payment terms sometimes like 2 weeks as they know this is important to owner drivers, probably why they get subbies with such low rates. Option 2 - Look for your own customers and only subby on an ad-hoc basis when you don't have your own work or need a backload, Plenty of small companies out there who might need your services and who the big haulage companies won't be interested in working with as they go for big contracts. I get all of my work from the Courier Exchange and have heard the Haulage Exchange is good in normal times (not now), Barron Wood also offer work on an ad-hoc basis as do Amazon Relay, plenty of others too. This option gives the most independence and the opportunity to find your own end customers which is where the real money is, cut out the middle man and earn £3/loaded mile! The downside is that work is less secure and you have to find it, but if you can get your wife to look for work while your driving you in in a better position than most. Another downside is you wont see money coming in until you've been doing it for about 2 months and there is a lot more invoicing, book keeping and chasing up to do, again you could get the misses to do this. As for the truck my plan would be to keep costs to a minimum especially when starting up, initially hire a Stralis for closer to £300 a week and then if it's going well get your own unit. There are Euro 6 Stralis out there with 250k miles on the clock going for £16k with alloys from a reputable company (FleetEX). A Renault Range T can be had for the same money but with 350k miles on the clock, a Daf XF 460 for £22k again with 350K on the clock. Actros are somewhere between the Renault and DAF price and mileage wise, new parts are very expensive though apparently. Another way to reduce costs is to do your Transport Managers CPC so you don't have to pay for an external TM (£250-£350/month!), alternatively get the wife to do it then she can be your TM (for £0) and also do it for others charging the above! Parking suitable for an operating centre is about £50/week for 1 unit and 1 trailer, there is a place in Bootle close to the docks that offers this, the premises is something to do with a rubber company if you Google it. I hope this helps.
Great info there pal i appreciate it. I am thinking of doing another live tuesday or Wednesday maybe. Would be great if you could join. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge. I have seen that the freight exchange is around £350 per month. Just wandering are there no free sites just to get a peek? Cheers
@@Raul689 No worries mate, there is a lot to it that's for sure but it could be worth it I recon. I am likely to be tramping out this week in my van, so can't watch to much RU-vid on my phone as it uses to much data sadly, if I get home that night I will tune in for sure. The basic package on the Haulage Exchange shouldn't cost anything like that much, I've just renewed on the Courier Exchange and it was £820 for 12 months but I managed to get an extra 2 moths thrown in for free by playing hard to get. I've heard the Haulage Exchange memberships are slightly more expensive but not a big difference. There is also returnloads.net but I've heard/read that is not quite so good. If you go the Haulage Exchange website and click on live loads it will give you some idea of the loads posted recently, the map view is better to see the busy areas; haulageexchange.co.uk/haulage-loads/ Also check out Barron Wood; www.bwdreturnloads.co.uk/available-loads/
*Hello brother hope you're ok. I didn't have enough time to watch your videos but I am glad you're back in business. I will have a look on your videos on week-end mate. Hope you're ok. Take care ;)*
Regarding ir35, if you register with several agencies & are available to take work from all of them then surely you should be able to continue as a ltd co ??. Maybe a topic for a future vlog ??. Another great video & I really love how ur real & not trying to be politically correct all the time. Take care Bro !!
@@loonranger469 Legally speaking a small company. one with a turnover of less than 10 million is exempt from having to do IR35 assessments on all of their workers but a lot of them are being bullied by the Traffic Commissioners not to use LTD drivers.
No flowers on the flower bed is a pretty good sign you're not the first to drive over that 😂. who designs these places? what are they thinking? In the long run it must cost the company a fair bit in delays and damages. 20:23 "No but I'm not going to make things any easier I'm just going to sit here and have a dribble watching the risk of damages to my car go up and up."
Bloody hell, I could feel my heart rate increasing when you had to maneuver round the carpark to get that 2nd delivery done. Incredible skill there - and you stayed good humoured as always, Raul. Cool music too, Love it!
Now on the 27 october 2021 they adverticing for drivers in the UK with payments up to 6200 euros and lots of extras, if i was 30 years younger i would have moved to england
You may already know but I help myself with heavy pallets self tipping I will tilt the trailer slightly up at the front using unit suspension so the pallets roll with you just don’t go full height or you will be not stopping them lol
There is a load of jobs going on at the monent in the North West if you were looking! Ive seen Family run firms in Preston to Milk deliveries! Or you could work for B and M they give a good meal allowance for drivers. This LTD system will kill the trucking industry... with you being romanian and all that, did and pallets just “fall” off your trailer by any chance? Lol
I am still looking to see what's out there but not looking to good. Wont stai at b m cuz the rates are crap for the work you do. So far no pallets have "fall" off hhahaha. So far... 😄
I am on the same job as you for the next two weeks. After that who knows? Probably going to stop driving for a while and see if the PAYE rate improves. I dont see that umbrella companies offer any benefit to the driver.
hello mate great to see you back :D I have done second store couple times you entered it wrong witch happens :D you should go around the carpark much better so you revers with good side
Do you miss your home in Romania I had to leave Ireland as a young man to find work I finally got back after working for 20 years in the transport industry in England. I hope you get the chance to visit Ireland some day
@@Raul689 are you working to save over a number of years to go back to Romania and live well with money saved or have you and your family settled in the uk now and will be only going back to homeland for visits? Stay safe on the roads
Cheers Raul for this video 👍 and The BM Store at Wellington Shropshire The Driver After to Jackknife the Trailer around to Reverse on to Loading Bay area and stay safe.
I think it's to do with the fact that after working 12 weeks for an agency you are no longer classed as self-employed but as an actual employee of the agency.
Great content Mate. But on second delivery after You make turn to the car park and stop... I would go strait and then left... this way You wouldn’t have too blind side it. I wouldn’t care that is wrong way :] just easier this way. Anyway good stuff :)) Regards
