The man on the left is Melvin Jones, my uncle. He was the Tenor singing the highest part. (the other tenor part is called the Lead and sings mostly the melody) He also was the voice reading the Danny Orlis stories on the Saturday children's broadcast. He served as executive director as long as I was aware. My parents met while working at Back to the Bible and sang in the Choir in the 40's and 50's. For their 50th wedding anniversary years back I borrowed my parents' 78 RPM records and remastered them. I unveiled the CDs at the anniversary party my siblings and I hosted. Hearing the choir and quartet still make me very nostalgic.
I listen to these men every morning before I start my day. I actually grew up in Belize hearing them on the old reel to reel and Radio stations at different times. Godly men, singing godly songs. Perhaps one day I will sing with them in Heaven...
I appreciate your time in posting Back to the Bible Quartet. I grew up listening to the Back to the Bible Quartet radio broadcast with their songs. It satisfies my soul everytime I listen to their songs.
I stumbled across this song by accident. You can search and search on RU-vid for this song and it always comes up "You'll Never Walk Alone." which is a different song.
My Father sang second tenor for the Back to the Bible quartet in the 80's. I have not been able to find any of the old albums but this will suffice for now.
Wow! Broncomatt33, is your dad still alive today, such a great man of God. We never had a choice we absolutely had to listen to the back to the bible broadcast, we got to love them and cherished them all though our lives. I will meet your dad in Heaven someday!
Verse 1 I never walk alone, I have the Saviour, Who walks beside me everywhere I go; My heart rejoices in His loving favor, And all who will His saving grace may know. Chorus I never walk alone, Christ walks beside me, He is the dearest Friend I've ever known, With such a Friend to comfort and to guide me, I never, no, I never walk alone. Verse 2 I never walk alone, in stormy weather, When winds of trouble sweep about my head; I know I'm safe, because we are together, And 'round me His protecting love is spread. Chorus
