I'm fr so happy i have one of these somewhere in my house, my parents bought it when i was born and it hasnt been used for 13 years, now that im interested in photography im so grateful they bought it.
Im recently wanting to use my parent’s old camera to record videos with friends on it. I love it so much, camera from 2006 and still working perfectly, i also like the early 2000s quality aesthetic it gives off on me
i found my dad's 2004 kodak digicam last month, its still use 128MB SD Card (too small compare to present day SD Card). it still works and nostalgic af
I think there’s something romantic about film photography, which is why it’s making a comeback and I understand the obvious draw to the newest digital cameras but I’m less convinced about technology like this in the middle. It’s not different enough from modern photography to be it’s own thing. It’s like modern photography but crappier
Hey there! I understand this and I honestly love using both film and high-end cameras, but what I love about "middle" technologies is that they are more accessible and affordable. It brings photography closer to everyone and can be a great tool to simply freeze memories :) Plus, this is something that almost all households have, which again brings photographer closer.
I think it is going to become more common to see digital as nostalgic/ vintage -lots young adults now never had a camera, only a smartphone so having a camera at all is sort of its own unique thing now.
Eh, I see the appeal. Most of these cameras have a CCD sensor, which renders colors a little differently (many say better) from the newer CMOS sensors. Another aspect is the lens, which provides a very similar look to a truly vintage lens since it is often simple and imperfect. And lastly, some of these are very small and affordable, making it an easy alternative to taking photos with your phone (phones can sometimes outperform these old little cameras, but current phones process the image more than most cameras do, whether the camera is new or old. Overprocessed images usually look artificial and have weird bright haloes around objects etc. Cameras leave the photoshopping up to the photographer to do as little or as much as they want.) Just watch out for what card it takes since some older cameras take an xD card, which has a max of 2 GB and is about $50 for a used one, and the ones that do take SD usually don't take SDXC so get an SDHC or just SD.
My uncle gave me one this month I think I'll try it I love old cameras just feels nostalgic and make me remember my childhood which I forgot due to some reason
Hey i have the nikon coolpix p5100 haha where did you buy that nostalgic thing my camera doesn't work at all i have no batteries I don't even know if it works
I remember that my dad has a sony digital camera he bought back in 2004 or 2005. Is been dusted in the corner of dad's drawer so I think it is time to dust it off and put it to good use again.
We have the same cam and mine is always getting blurry if I try to hold and press the capture button and makes by photo all blurred. Have you experienced the same problem or do you know how to resolve this issue? Badly need help huhu thank you in advance!
How long did it take for you to set up the camera before you could use it? Were you able to pull it out of your pocket and start filming in a matter of seconds like a phone ? That’s what we want . Does anybody know where this very simple technology is? We don’t want a phone, we want a camera that operates exactly like our phone in a matter of seconds with the same awesome quality …. Cheaper of course because we’ve cut out all the Internet crap 👏🏼
You really don't need an expensive camera to match phone quality in fact you can find a 16-megapixel point and shoot camera for probably 5 to 10 hours equivalent to that of a $75 smartphone. Tired of all these spoiled kids who get up-to-date phones every year and never look back on Old technology
I recommend using iso 100 or lower if you can. Iso 200 can get better photos sometimes but the sound can cause grainy photos. Iso 200 is still great for taking photos don't change the way that you photograph because of me.
I still see people use digital cameras. Not because it's "nostalgic" or "retro", it's most likely because their cell phone doesn't take HD pics, or maybe because that's all they can afford, I guess. I had one a few years back for the same reasons I just mentioned.
I found a film camera from my parents wardrobe. I did my research and it was a 2005 model. It doesn't work but I'm hoping to fix it. There are even some films for the camera
@@yourfatboy5359actually there's a difference between just digital and smartphones. digital camera era usually refers to using a dedicated digital or point-and-shoot camera to take videos rather than a smartphone, then of course the smartphone camera era is self-explanatory.
Hi! Im always confused if taking the pics vertically or horizontally ? It doesn’t really matter w this camera then for insta? In iPhone it does matter. Gonna buy one!
hahaha I had two digital cameras. The first was a Canon that I dropped in a river (I still have it), and my father brought a Sony digital camera like it was 2015 ff IG...
How weird that 2016 me never realized that was the last picture she took on that camera i had since 2009 just found it while packing my bags cuz we changing houses😭
Really makes me sad that old cameras like this went away because everyone is so greedy and wants high-quality smartphone cameras even though an old camera from 2008 will work just fine but everyone has become spoiled and ungrateful I still genuinely use a camera from 2003
