Dude, you just got yourself a 24 hour auto-play feature on my channel. This review must be seen by people who think those reviews that AVGN and IG did can hold a candle to the job you did going over this game. Hands down my favorite review you have done thus far. Good job. And how the hell could IG and AVGN not mention the "kill all" move? That is a pretty huge thing for them to not mention in this game.
I just...wow. Everytime you do a review, I'm surprised by at least something. For one that you went through the whole game without A) ripping off of others, or B) changing your mind. For another that you can seemingly so easily review a game that's been done before (multiple times, even, like this one) without, again, ripping off of anyone else. I don't know how you do it, but keep doing what you do, sir. Unlike this game's repeating streets, you bring something new to the table everytime.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!! Another Aqualung! You have no idea how intently I wait for your reviews dude! They're hilarious and well done! Keep up the good work!!
Good god, man. You're kind of a retro gaming god, I think. Awesome review. I never got to the end of this game as a kid, so it was interesting to see it now. :)
"I'd rather listen to Cyndi Lauper the whole time than this......ehhhhhh let's not say things we can't take back!" What were you going to say when you stopped yourself at that point?
another excellent review kenny. now i like the movie. but you're right about how they tweaked it a tad. but it's not look anyone could tell the difference 18 years ago.
It's been ages since I last seen the instruction manual to this game, but I assume that change was due to either legal reasons or done at the creative liberty of the game's designers.
If you thought this game was terrible, wait until you play its sequel Back to the Future 2 and 3. You will surely be frustrated by its merciless difficulty!
There's been about three versions of BTTF 1 on computers, this one, a Japanese one on the MSX, which has fuck all to do with the movie and a bizarre one from the UK. Oh, there's also one based on the ride for the gamecube.
Cyndi Lauper is awesome music. I'd rather listen to Queen throughout the whole game. By the way, there is a cheat code where you can shut the irritating music off. Pause the game, hold up, A and B all at once. Then unpause the game, and BANG! the music's gone. But the next time you pause the game, the music will come back, so you have to do that code again before you unpause it. It's an easy code to do.
I always thought it a bit strange that the game starts with Marty already in the past. The scene at the beginning where Marty is trying to escape from the Libyan terrorists could've made a good first level. Ah well, the game's horrible, anyway.
1:59 Apologies if anyone else has already corrected you on this, but... Those aren't Marty's parents in the picture with them, they're his older siblings.
I have always felt like a D- was a little harsh. I think a D is fair considering at least you got to drive the DeLorean at the end. But - oh wait - then again if you fail you do have to replay the entire game. But then again they have the musi-oh wait no they don’t. But we do get to see Doc Bro- oh wait no. Ok D- is fair.
One of these days I will be strapped down to a chair and I will say to my arch villian, do you expect me to talk, and his reply was, no mr. bond, I expect you to listen to the music for BTTF NES fora duration of at least 2 hours
@AqualungGameReviews CornshaqGaming did a walkthough of the game and it took him over 2 hours to do just part 2. Good luck if you have the patience to actually walkthrough it.
I know that LJN made this travesty but you would think that even they would be wise enough to use the Back to the Future theme during at least some of the stages...
Now I'm not sure why I watched this video but, 6:26 This is the oldest video I've ever seen with a "Correction" Portion edited in. That there is a feat if you ask me.
Unfortunately, all the music would have to be licenced (music companies are annoying like that) and LJN is known not to easily part with money to fund their games.
Love the old NES reviews. My wife hates you and knows when I watch your videos because of the Aqualung intro. She doesn't appreciate anything so don't be offended. Are you ever thinking of doing Genesis Reviews? Or a Contra review?? Come on man, you cant do NES without Contra!
Then play Super Back to the Future for the Super Famicom and there's your fun BTTF game, yes my friend the best BTTF game was released only in Japan durin the golden age of the SNES and Genesis.
LOL Nah, this guy actually plays the games AND completes them. He doesn't sit there and play a couple of levels and dream up as much filthy language as he possibly can for laughs. In other words: Aqualung > AVGN. That's right I said it. :D
I never played this game back in the day. It looks like it has an interesting design, with the timer instead of hit points and the rhythm-based minigames. But of course that design also appears to be executed pretty poorly. Too bad!
the last lvl is werid because you have to avoid lighting to get to lighting wtf did they not se the second movie when the delorean is not moveing but is sent back to 1885 i mean the shit man
This game just doesn't come CLOSE to doing the movie justice. Lol, what a strange piece of shit. Also lol @ 5:49 - Even though Lea Thompson is sexy as hell, that shit still ain't right.
