What it's like to live life in the Amazon on a scorching sunny day and without electricity for fans, there's nothing like a dip in the Solimões River to cool off. We did a joint effort to clean the shore for bathing, despite the river being full of piranhas, stingrays, snakes and alligators... we couldn't resist the delight of the cold water. At the end of the day, the storm came to cool off, and we took the opportunity to chat with our Maria, Manoel's wife, and get to know a little more about the day-to-day life of riverside people.
Back to this paradise called the Amazon, where I had the privilege of experiencing the traditions and customs of the local communities. My first stop is here in the community of our Barrinha, I will stay here for about 2 months, showing my day to day with this great and wonderful family called São Francisco da Mangueira. Wait, there's a lot of cool things coming around, from the daily life of the riverside people, where their main livelihood activity is fishing, the long awaited time of handling the pirarucu, fishing with harpoons, wild animals of this wonderful forest, with all their beauties, rivers, igarapé and igapó.
