Thank you for sharing the mess in your bus. Love your mess, Emma. Living with imperfections is a quality I appreciate. Technical support. Your water pump works. The trouble is that you got air trapped in the pump. Immediate fix: Fill your water tank to maximum. Disconnect pump exit tube, filling it by manually pouring water into the tube. Reconnect exit tube, before activating the pump, while the exit tube remains filled with water. Long term fix: (To make sure it doesn't happen again) Make sure that your pump is positioned lower than the bottom of your water input tank. After doing it. Make the Immediate fix once. This Technical support is not my doing, rather a friend of mine.

Rv pumps are self priming, designedto run tank dry then refill and start again...essentially don't need to fill line with water. That would be more of a regular pump issue.
@mudman7618
@mudman7618 Год назад
From a former RV design guy, thoughts on your pump as I'm watching your video. I didn't catch if your pump is a diaphragm pump, but driving, water can slosh around and essentially make it's way back to the tank with no check valve....so it may take a few seconds to re-prime and fill the lines with water. Try puting you pump closer to the tank, and make sure you have a sediment filter between tank and pump. It's possible you could have sucked a spec of sand or something through the pump. And also, RV pumps are just cheap. There are other solutions out there that may be more reliable.
@G58
@G58 Год назад
Could it be an air bubble in the system?
@mudman7618
@mudman7618 Год назад
@@G58 essentially yes, that's what I was getting at. There's no check valves in the system so when driving or breaking the water sloshes around in the tank, and water can essentially drain back to the tank especially if the pump is high than the tank. I believe most RV pumps are diaphragm pumps, so as long as the diaphragm is in tact it should "suck" water from tank and into lines, unlike a centrifugal pump that would need primed.
@G58

I think you are amazing young woman. I hope what ever you from here on in your life you keep us tagging along. I loved the bus build. Something you maybe would enjoy is boat life ( living on a sail boat ) If you like projects there are always projects on a boat. Myself the less project schedule better. But I have always had a interest in boat life.

A couple things on stains: 1 - The stained wood will change over time 2 - The color will ALWAYS look different in sunlight vs inside your bus. 3 - Most stains have particles that will settle out.

@David_S52
@David_S52 Год назад
Stains won’t lose color over time. What happens is all the solids will settle to the bottom. The liquid at the top is the solvent or water depending on if it’s water base or oil. Make sure to get a paint paddle/stick that hits the bottom and give it a good stir for about 5 minutes. We’d always get that question in the paint store. Some just brought it in for us to shake it again.

Emma. I’ve tried not to go into Dad mode while watching you build the bus. But I have reached my limit and feel like I have to help on the wiring seeing as you hate it so much. You’re right to use the 12v usb outlets. You have to bin/return the ‘mains voltage ones. Pump wise something must be stopping it. Could be airlock. Could be tiny grit particles. Could be a crappy pump. Solutions to that are. Make sure pump has a filter and close as possible to tank. Lower its position if it’s higher than the tank. Run it long enough to make sure it has chance to prime. Awesome job over the last year. I’ve loved every minute.

I had to learn the hard way myself to backup all of my video and photos before starting to edit just in case I do something stupid and delete some of it because I have done that. Your pump is just sucking air, make sure all the hose clamps are tight. After you took it apart, it may have temporarily filled the gap, but once you drove it, it shifted. I doesn't matter where that style pump is, just that all the clamps are tight.

Generally a pump not working is a diaphragm issue...they're cheap to replace. Make sure you have the strainer to filter stuff in the water first. Especially with a new tank there's frequently chunks of plastic in there and stuff in the water that can cause problems. They're a auto prime design so if the are functioning properly they will pull water no matter where they're mounted. Lots of comments are clueless on the actual pumps and have never used one.
@BrianGenX75
@BrianGenX75 Год назад
Depends on the pump. If the pump is getting air locked by it’s positioning then you may have to change the positioning of it. If the fluid is able to drain away from it by gravity this often happens. It allows air to collect at the pump and vapor lock it. It could just be a bad pump as well. Try positioning first though.

What Mud man said, air lock. water flows back into tank and with no water in the line and pump, your pump wont work. You need one way check valve close to tank and manual prime bulb to push water all the way to pump if it happens again.

@ravinloon58
@ravinloon58 Год назад
The easiest way to check your water pump is with a washing up soap type bottle (or a funnel/watering can) and a piece of hose... half fill the bottle with water, attach the hose and join it to the input side of your pump... hold up the bottle so gravity feeds the water and turn on your pump... if it doesn't shoot out some water the pump is broken. The most common issue is not the pump (as long as it is making a noise) it is almost always air or a blockage in the feed from the tank. Changing the location of the pump so it is just below the tank is the best if you can. Oh. you might find topping up your tank fixes the problem too.

Really seen in dog issue, dogs are long term commitment and you can't guarantee that at present and you will be more aware of your surrounds on your own, now pump issue does it run when when connected direct to +and - of battery if yes then as others have said air in line problem , depends on water level in tank and water in plumbing. Good luck , love your videos from start. Hope to see you in our country one day.

Hi Emma! I'm new to your channel. I'm impressed and enjoying watching you adventure around to many of the places that I have been. If your water pump is endlessly running. It is probably because there is an air leak somewhere. Tighten all your connections and look for holes in your plumbing tubes. A small air leak somewhere will keep it from pressurizing. Good luck and have fun!

Is it self priming? maybe the connection to the pump on the intake side is leaking air in so the water falls back into the tank while driving and well check for airtight connections and plenty of water on the intake side.. Have to 100% agree with you about the dog thing. Some people simply cannot bare to be alone. Maybe they can’t stand their own company. Either way, the dog is a mental prop for them. It’s almost always a selfish thing. I love dogs. In a parallel universe, I have a pair of wonderfully well trained Rhodesian Ridgeback sisters who are by my side on all my adventures. But I n reality I’m neither that selfish nor that needy. Am also free to not come home for weeks on end, and being aware that true solitude is gift, there’s no need for company - unless I happen to get lucky enough to find a crazy chick like… 🧐😎😜🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Peace
