I just love hearing these stories. I can just imagine the children playing in the yard. Grandparents sitting on the porch. Times were simple and family was everything. Families helped each other and God was a part of their life.
You are a Precious Lady,,, and remind me of home,, Especially the way you pronounce the word phone,,, it's the little things in life,,,, I am from Mill Creek Holler 😎 in South West Virginia,, Tazwell county Virginia to be exact,,,,
This is fantastic. Thank you for doing this. Driving around that part of the country (or really any rural area) and seeing those old houses always makes me wonder about all the stories they hold. I found this place using Google maps in about 60 seconds. I intend to drive by there one of these days.
I've driven backroads of Virginia all my life. I too am always taken by the old buildings, wondering of the lives of the people who are no longer with us. Is it just me or are others as well struck with the fleeting existence of our own lives? Many individuals feel the world begins with our birth and ends with our death. History fascinates me...prolly why I got a BA in History. Can't make a living with it, but man I love history.
if I had the money to buy an old farm house like that and fix it up to live in and live off the land that would be so great! of course it would need a useable kitchen and bathroom but a 2 bedroom 1 bath old farm house with a kitchen and living room with a big porch that has a swing..... =) I can just imagine!!!
I remember the phone we call it the party line we had a couple ladies if you wanted to something to be spread across them mountains just say it on the phone 😅😅😅😅
