Were backcountry camping in Yellowstone! Follow us to Wyoming and explore the Bridger-Teton National Forest to find some backcountry camping. We camp along the Spread Creek our first night, and then at the base of Shadow Mountain on our second night near Jackson Hole Wyoming. We drove to Jackson, Wyoming to enjoy a meal at The Merry Piglets merrypiglets.com/ , and Jackson Drug jacksondrug.com/ . Our third day we traveled to our nations first National Park, Yellowstone National Park. There we visited the Grand Prismatic Spring, Excelsior Geyser Crater, Opal Pool, Turquoise Pool, and Firehole River at the Midway Geyser Basin. After that we visited Yellowstone Falls and took in the views of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

I stumbled upon your videos and very much enjoy them. I grew up in Cabot, AR. on a farm. Visited an uncle in Colorado when I was 11 yr old and spent the next 2 weeks in the mountains. I knew where I wanted to live. I have been here since '79 after graduating from UAMC in Little Rock. Your video skills are amazing with just the right amount of dialog. Thanks!

Great video as always. You are the 4th channel that I watch that have recently went out there. I've been debating on making my way out there as well. Wasn't sure I wanted to dive that far. It would be a 20+ hour drive for me as well. But after watching the others I've decided it would be well worth it and in the next few years I plan on heading there. looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip, which I'm sure will make me want to go even more.

You guys have a fancier campsite then I do but we both seam to enjoy the same food and snacks. My campsite fits on my back and normally weighs ( Base weight ) less then 10 pounds ( ultralight backpacker ) . Nothing better then biscuits and southern sausage gravy at any time. For myself you were missing the Grits and Eggs to keep it company. Sausage gravy is darn good on grits when the biscuits run out. OvaEasy dehydrated egg crystals make some really good scrambled eggs without the spoilage worries. Plus it can be used in camp recipes that call for eggs. I'm surprised you did not have Yogi and BoBo invading your camp with all those good ( cooking ) smells drifting around.

I see the Mr. Buddy heater in the corner of your tent. How close can you get it to the tent wall and then how do you make sure your bedding doesn't fall onto it in the middle of the night? Do you leave it on while you sleep?
@CodyandKellie
@CodyandKellie 3 года назад
We were going to talk about it in the vlog, but did not want to be liable for people having a misshap with it. We have 9 inch around the wall and only leave it on for about 15-20 mins as we are getting ready for bed. It warms up the tent really nicely and makes it warm to get under our bedding. Then we turn it off. We turn it back on in the morning to make it easier to get up. The Mr. Buddy has a tip sensor that turns it off if it falls over, and it also has a oxygen sensor to make sure the oxygen levels are good. But in a tent, you have a lot of breathable materials. But it has been tested in a closed camper and ran through a whole bottle of propane and never had dangerous carbon monoxide issues.

Are you able to use those heaters inside the tent? Or how did you manage to stay warm?
@CodyandKellie

We use the buddy heater in the tent because it has an emergency shut off if it tips over. The others we have not used in the tent.

Why not use the heater in tent you brought. Long as you got air flow it's safe. I use a Coleman stove in my van and just crack my front windows about an inch and one in the back put it on lowest setting possible and keeps me toasty. BUT i have insulation in my van and a fantastic fan in roof. So im well ventilated. I don't advise it to often. But i have majical powers like bob and can do it with no problem. So KIDS DONT DO IT. lol Peace ✌

Luckily we did not have any encounters with much wildlife. Forgot bear spray. We try to be a safe as possible. Thanks for your concern.

@@CodyandKellie I was there in August 2020 and saw two grizzlies. No tent camping there: bears love tents. Bear spray at the minimum: guns are better. I'm glad to hear you lived through the night.

We do, we just don’t film it so when people watch they don’t have to be reminded about it. We want people to have an escape from the current world situation.
