I like hearing that you always end things with telling people to focus on tags. I was that person who felt like I needed to put all my focus on gear ( I fell for the marketing, thanks social media). Anyways I appreciate hearing you say experiences over everything, that’s why we hunt. The best gear in the world means nothing without the tags to chase the animals. Much respect to you and your team for what you all do. Keep it up 👍🏼.

I live in SE and all my experience is day hunting. Just getting ready to prepare for some backcountry hunting out west. Would love if y’all could do an “essential for backcountry” video with gear that is good but not outrageous for people like me who are having to put it all together in a pretty short period of time. Having to do it that way is really expensive if you don’t know exactly what you should start with before starting to play with upgrades over time. Love your content. Thanks for all your hard work getting information out to us. Also really enjoy the Podcast

looking forward to your future review of the genesis. At $300, can't say it would beat a normal camp chef butane camp stove. One plus I see is the ability to use different sized pots/pans without worry of the back slash/lid on normal stoves

I don't check comments everyday Jonathan... I am actually hunting... filming/editing... training... filming/editing... etc. I was a FF/EMT for a while... I have reps and good training and I actually have the tourniquet in my top zipper out of the package. Thanks for the shit comment haha! -DS

Great video Dan. I love my Peax BC Elites and have run them for a few years. If you want more compact, they make a tri fold Backcountry Z pole that would fit I the side pocket of your pack. I have used that one and it works awesome. I think the Elites are more versatile though in setting up shelters or tarps. Have you checked out the Sea to Summit evac dry compression sack? They are sweet for sleeping bags or quilts. Saves a ton of space and they aren’t that spendy. Keep the vids coming, they are great!

Excellent overview and bag dump. I am definitely interested in the trekking pole testing. I bought a pair from Amazon that was $22 and they sucked for climbing 1400 vertical feet to help my brother pack out his mule deer 🦌 in Idaho and I tried them this year to help me get my whitetail out of a mucky hole and they failed again.
