I simply love the fact that they go through the garage shots and such, showing the studded tires, showing him examining the studded tires. But in the end... he's on tire chains. No studs to be found. Hrm... wonder why that could be!? Someone not think about that when editing this at all? Still was fun to watch them play around with it.
I think only those studded tires cost over 15000$ + filming costs + helicopter cost. And you weren't able to hire decent video editor? I mean, this can be a lot better.
For reasons unknown somebody out there is proud of their editing. So tired of the whiny brats that are always crying and sobbing "hater." Hey snowflake, without criticism and critique, things do not generally ever get better
J. Thomas or maybe this is their best effort and they are still trying to develop their skill. And if there’s one thing I know it’s that receiving criticism when trying to learn something is one of the worst feelings out there
what's up with the video and sound editing... did they let Max do it? that is horrible! Got to feel sorry for Max, Marko & Mateschitz like them young and Maxi is their new toy
I would call this a fail. Of course it was going to be slow. Also love that the studded tires clearly did not work so they switched to chains, which likely can't stand up to crazy revolutions or stress like the studs would have.
It's actually incredibly obvious that filming didn't goto plan that day. Here's my reasoning why... The very small segments where there is a continuous shot or a shot lasting more than 900 milliseconds never shows the car moving very fast. These same segments show that if the car is moving slightly fast, it's practically airborne most of the time and thus unsafe and undriveable. Because of this, there are no continuous or longer that 900ms audio segments of the cars' engine reaching anywhere near its powerband, which goes some way to explaining the lack of audio during the snows run and it also might explain the over-use of slow-motion segments and frequent editing cuts. Thoughts?
Really cool. The technical side is mentioned but never even scratched. Could you guys make a video explaining the challenges alongside interviews from your engineers? It is hard to believe my eyes.
It"s not the editing that was bothering me is the tire chain was a lethal thing I was waiting to see the chains flying in the crowd I wonder if they tried it with the studs only and they saw that is wasn't enuf.
So...no music? Based off the fact that we can hear intermittent sound design (added sound effects such as car noises and tools) this video was probably edited to music, which was then removed for reason it got taken out. Legal reasons maybe. That would explain the pacing of the video. It was probably edited to music before.
The title made me need to watch this but all the while I was thinking "how in earth is that going to work?" in the end I concluded that it was the dumbest idea in Motorsport history (but sure was a fun one). I like watching fast off road events like the short course trucks racing in snow - they look and perform very well in snow according to my youtube research. Would have been fun to watch this amazing machine trying to keep pace with a SCT and being owned (apart the "I told you so" comments that would get posted). Purpose build vehicles should really only be used for their designed purpose says this guy - Just my two cents.
Was the car raised in anyway? I don't see how the snow/ice wouldn't introduce significant drag and possibly damage the car. Yes, it's an older model, but I imagine they would still want to keep it in a museum somewhere in pristine condition.
What's all the fuzz about the audio? Probably the music is left out because of copyright claims. I thinks this is the result of that.. WITH the right music under this I'm sure this will be a sick looking edit.
+marcel epskamp Dan zal Ferrari toch echt met een betere auto op de proppen moeten komen én Max een contract moeten aanbieden. Mercedes zou dan een betere ''keuze'' zijn, of, waarschijnlijker, de nieuwe Red Bull.
Helmut Marko 2016: In F1, if you have the will and an idea, and you are not hindered by regulations, exciting things are possible. Helmut Marko 2020: Mercedes' innovative steering system DAS should be banned immediately. Which one are you? For innovation, or over regulation?
Shit yeah!!!! That was sweet....can't believe everyones whining about the editing?!?!? WTF?!?! It's an F1 Car Driving on a mountain???? Fucking shit hot!!!! ;)
F1... if you're going to use the v8 engines for promotional videos at least put them back in the cars of 2017 ! they sound weak but the turbo lag sounds beautiful
