In our more advanced classes with talk a lot about putting the boat in the appropriate position when tide/wind conditions are strong. Here is a prime example of moving the stern to get the bow where you want it in a heavy tide. Generally it’s not about how you operate the boat or whether you have a joystick. A successful docking situation is all about the approach.

Yep. Do these new electric vs cable throttle controls feel different? With cable, coming in and out of neutral for docking, I felt very connected to the boat.
