I follow a handful of bushcraft/outdoor channels and for me, your content is the most real. I appreciate the honest updates and real talk. I cannot imagine how much effort it takes to do what you do, but please know it’s much appreciated.

I came up with a DIY setup similar to yours. Using orange down rigger line for guy lines. My hammock is a Kelty classic bivy that I made into a bridge. And I made the tarp so that it also sets up as a Wheelan lean-to .

Beautiful weather to take a rifle for a walk! Hope your luck gets better. Not sure what your day job is but i am dealing back and hip stuff from 20 years at a desk. Not fun. It’s amazing how everything is interconnected. A good physical therapist is worth their weight in gold. Thank you for the video!

Watching you set up the camp brings fond memories of going out hunting and fishing with my grandpa and others 😁. He started taking me with,as soon as I wasn't breastfeeding any more. I had old pictures of me in saggy cloth diapers sitting on a buck's head holding the antlers. Being the first grandchild and a girl didn't matter to my pawpaw. Thanks for the good memories. I'm subscribed.

@@garyd3725 There's a roughly estimates 20,000 wild bison roaming tribal and state and federal park lands. Half a million roughly in privately owned herds. I've seen the wild ones up close in Yellowstone national park and they were almost as big as the Minivan we where in. Lol

Always a great overnighter Rob, always love when you upload reminds me of the good parts of upstate NY I gave up when I moved down south, although I might be moving back up there (to the Hudson valley region this time instead of the Adirondacks). Prayers your hip pain isn't too serious and that you have a safe & full recovery. Congrats to the stepson on becoming a Marine as well. Dehydrated backpacker meals aren't really my cup of tea either but they've definitely come a long way over the last few years, I can actually tolerate them a bit more now. Cheers!

Mind sharing the gear/plan for processing and/or packing out the deer if you got one? I've seen the videos of people quartering them, putting the meat in game bags, and making a couple trips hiking the meat back to the truck. Is that what you were gonna do?
@BrooksandBirches
@BrooksandBirches Год назад
That would be my plan this year definitely! The pack I was using is a frame pack so I can haul meat with it but I will do a more in depth look in my next video if you like? I dragged my deer out of the woods last year and I'll never do it again lol
@xXtheoscillatorXx
@xXtheoscillatorXx Год назад
@@BrooksandBirches Well, I'd say be careful about showing all the gruesome details on camera if you do bag a deer. Might drive away some subscribers. But yeah, personally, I would like to see that part! And yeah that was my thinking - trying to drag a whole dressed deer for however far sounds awful lol. Where I hunt I don't usually have to drag them far (private property). I'm spoiled 😅
