Hello from TX! Love seeing your videos with the parents. With a few months backpacking with the XMid Pro 2+, what are your thoughts on the durability, pitching, and overall experience? Are you still loving it? Would you recommend it?

We've gotten a lot better at the pitch and now feel really comfortable with setting it up! We've learned that where ever you set it up, you just want to make sure the spots for the 2 poles are pretty even in height otherwise the top ridgeline on the tent will be funky. So sometimes you need to rotate the tent before setting it up so those 2 spots are lined up. We love the room, there's plenty of room to have our gear inside with us, but it is slightly cramped on the ends. If you don't mind having gear in your vestibules then you won't have a problem, but we always bring everything inside with us. It isn't as roomy as the HMG Ultamid 2, but it's nice not having a pole in the middle of your setup. I love that we can pitch it in terrible weather and nothing inside gets wet in the process. It goes up so quickly and the "rain fly" is already built in so rain doesn't get in during setup (where as other tents you have to setup the insert and then throw the rain fly on afterwards). The one downside is how thin the DCF flooring is. We've been using DCF tents for over a decade and haven't had any issues poking holes in the bottom of tents before. With this, we had 2 holes in our floor by our 3rd time using it (our Cabinet Mountains video is where that happened). Luckily DCF is very easy to repair so it isn't a big deal but we are more cautious about it now. I just got the footprint to see if I think that is worth taking with us or not to protect the floor, but I forgot it last weekend. We haven't punctured anymore holes since those 2 though!

@@SummitForWellness Thanks for the insightful feedback. I actually ordered the 2+ but opted for the woven floor. I wanted something more forgiving and didn’t mind the slightly heavier weight and longer drying times. Looking forward to more of your videos and reviews!

Let me know what you think of it! You won't even notice the extra 2oz, it'll be awesome!
