The horses won’t hurt you; but, you didn’t know that. It was fun to see the island. My husband and I lived there full time until he died 10 years ago. I had 90 days to give house to government and barge off. Its not easy living there with no bridges ,mail, stores ,nothing! One of his houses was the Beulah alberty house in front of the church. Then we lived at little greyfield beach road area. I miss it all very much, it was a magical part of life. I now live in the smoky mountains of NC
I love your honesty. I can just picture the two of you in the rain trying to get everything set up and cleaned up 😂 glad you still had fun with positive attitudes.
It was truly hilarious 😂 We eventually started to laugh uncontrollably and were kind of worthless. That was such a wonderful trip and time with my sister though 💙
What a gorgeous island. 👍. And what fun memories to make with your sister. 👏🏼👏🏼. I can imagine years in the future, the two of you re-counting that first night and laughing your heads off. 😆. But you survived it, so all is OK. Well done. 👌 But hiking at night! 😳. You two are much braver than I would ever be! Yikes! That scary music only added to the wanting to shut my eyes until that part was over. 😜
Might want to look into getting a dead kitten for your mic to break the wind. Can’t hear anything you say in the wind. But this is a beautiful place and I love how honest you are about making mistakes. I think that’s more helpful to fellow hikers than those that pretend it’s all perfect out there. Thanks for sharing!
You had some great experience dealing with scenarios that can happen to any backpacker!! It’s only a matter of time until this happens to us all in some shape or form. Great video! Thank you for documenting your journey!!
Sounds like an awesome time! We here at Out There! call that kind of hiking 'extreme hiking' trademark pending. lol But we enjoy going out when no one else will, its too dangerous too, or the situation is of the worst possible kind. We haven't really gotten the chance to film these excursions because we didn't have the equipment but we hope to. Everything is a learning experience and good on yall for not giving up!!
Great video! I just made reservations for this Dec., and copied your itinerary except last night at stafford so we can shower the last day before a long drive home.
That was great! Lessons hopefully learned, and they will be repeated anyway! 😄 Not laughing at you..(well maybe a little)laughing with you! So smart to bring your tarp. with! Can't wait to see more adventures! Your my hero!
Great video, really makes me want to hike there, watching from frozen St. Louis. We all have had camping problems, but you two faced your problems with a good attitude.
This looks like a cool hike and not terribly far for me! I may have to try it out soon. This experience was the perfect opportunity for growth and is the reason training hikes are so valuable. Great Video!
You should check it out! I just went again with my sister, mom and brother this time (last backpacking trip before the PCT). Beautiful, fun place to hike...and yes, I learned so much that trip. 😊
Great video. Looks like a fantastic place to explore. One suggestion.... your editing is great. I just found the music a lot louder than your talking so I had to keep adjusting the volume.
Thank you! And thanks very much for the feedback on the audio. It really is helpful to me, and I appreciate it. Will be keeping that in mind with future videos.
Looks like a beautiful place to hike! You two took some great footage while you were there. What kind of camera did you use to film this hike? Just subbed #45!
#45! Thanks so much for watching and subscribing 😊. Cumberland Island was a super cool place to hike and backpack! This was the first hike I filmed on my iPhone 12 Pro Max (Before that I was using an iPhone 7 😳). I also sometimes use a smartphone gimbal/stabilizer, the DJI Osmo Mobile 3, and a tripod. I’d love to eventually upgrade to a nice DSLR setup, but it’s not in the budget while I’m saving for my thru hike next year 😊. I’m pretty happy with the iPhone though, plus it saves weight!
@@MilesToGo1 Congrats on the upcoming Thru hike! The footage looks great with the 12 Pro Max. I use the GoPro 8 and the stabilization has been awesome for the trail. Understood about the weight and cost of a mirrorless or DSLR. There is a ton of places to explore on my channel that might interest you. Would love to hear your feedback!
