Brilliant idea! very often done, some even resell the scooter for more than they "bought" it for when they leave. Yeah, the busses, taxi's and such are a GIANT pain in the ass. I always seem to lose the whole day anytime I take the bus. Looks like a good bike too, I agree, Yamaha's are good.

Thanks for all the work you've done on the Koh Chang series along with previous ones. I'm currently sandboxing in Samui and am heading back to the mainland afterwards - barring getting put in Covid prison hotel. But I'll be cursing and struggling with trains, buses and songtews... sigh

I have a motorbike here, cost me 20,000Baht it’s just a Honda Click use it often, but only to use locally. Riding long distances on a bike isn’t for me, especially with my Thai girlfriend. I just rent a bike once I’am at my destination. Very easy to do in Thailand. I’ve always enjoyed backpacking, just a small pack, can’t beat the freedom. Can’t take a bike on the plane with you lol. By the way I’ve been here 2 years and have been stopped by police a few times, once your here for more than 3 months no insurance will fully cover you unless you have a Thai license, an international license is ok for 1 year. I got one last week cost me 3.500Baht from a driving school in Pattaya. Have to do a 2 day course!
And to think that you lost those bloody gloves in Ninh Binh or was Tran coc.? It must feel like losing part of you…..I know it would me. I enjoyed this little vlog, it’s the pathos of leaving that added to this vlog. Then the enjoyment of the new horse really overtook everything else. Brilliant mate last time I was in koh chang was 2003 the first place I visited after Bangkok,I ended up leaving Thailand in 2009,I miss it so much, respect mate 👍
35k is not bad for that, they are pretty nippy. You can own a bike, you just need to get a residency cert might be a bit of grief, your man in Pattaya probably could do it. Should all be good in his name. Theres some nice beaches a bit outside of Pattaya that are really nice and not often shown on RU-vid. Get one of those cheap raincoats from 7/11 wrap it on the bags, might save you stuff getting wet.

yep, in a nut shell, i do have a full uk bike license as well as a license to drive just about anything, the tax and registration are in a little tube on the number plate, i also have 2 international license's
Its not in my name, Going to keep it in the owners name so he can pay the tax for me each year, im thinking of keeping with the owner so i have transport when i fancy a holiday in the years to come
