It will be a little sad when the summer crowds start coming. So wish I lived closer.....re-watching some of your earlier videos so I can see some of my favorite places!

I always worry too much about the crowds, to the point that I often don't go, such as on holiday weekends. Many of those times sitting home I feel regret about not going. So this year I am going to try and go anyway, in some way, perhaps not to THE most populated places but at least somewhere in the Whites. Memorial Day is coming right up and I already feel the dread.

It's not Moose-a=lock-kee. It's not Moosealawk-------- IT's MOSEALUKE as in Cool Hand Luke

OK, yes. I seem to say it both ways as I am learning to correct to the right way.

@@rateyesmertz3785 Social media comment sections are rough. It's hard to get a feel for the tone and the person and where they are coming from. So, yeah - I missed that vibe of humor there. 😆

@@RachelWhelton OK I will try with my vibes. Now let me ask you a question. Do you know of any hot/warm springs in the WM ?? I have heard rumors there are but they are a tight lipped secret even park rangers avoid talking about. They are like trying to find then Great Carbuncle. Do you know anything about them ????

Beautiful shots of the mountains as always; good thinking on that fire, have you seen or used some of the smaller portable fire pits? Seem pretty convenient and you can heat small pots as well. I apologize if you have done this already, just seemed like an appropriate application on that rock outcrop. Thank you for the hike!
@RachelWhelton

Yes, this is a great idea. I have looked at a bunch of contraptions to make fires, and seen them on other channels. I guess I have now come to the conclusion that I do not need fires. I'm only going to do it if there is a fire pit and conditions are good.

Hey, just discovered your videos last night on RU-vid. Very much appreciate the time and effort you put into them. Just started hiking and backpacking 5 years ago when I was 50. Most of the time I go by myself because people my age rather just sit home and watch TV than be in the outdoors. Since I live in Massachusetts, I tried to hit the New Hampshire trails once a week. Hoping to go backpacking soon because I'm still healing from spinal fusion. If you ever ever get a chance, go up to Cutler Maine on the bold Coast Trail and spend the night there. It is absolutely beautiful. I did it solo during the covid years and the people I met in the woods up there was amazing. Take care of yourself and happy hiking! Ps you got one new subscriber.

Thanks. Wow, spinal fusion. Good job getting out there after such a serious experience. Yes, I saw that Cutler Coast area when I camped at Cobscook. It certainly looks amazing. My only question about that is how do you know when the tide is coming in - are all the campsites well high of the water line?

Thermoworks. I first ordered a "zipper pull" version from Garage Grown Gear. Then later around Christmas, I went ahead and ordered a few items directly from Thermoworks website. Occasionally they have a bit of a sale. And these things make good gifts. It's very consistent and it is easy to change batteries.

You have inspired us two late 50s to try the 48. Hiked Mt Pierce 4/27 absolute perfection. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. The warblers should be arriving anytime now. Happy trails 😊

That is great. That location should be less crowded than usual because I think the road is closed for the long term due to washout. So if you can get in there, you might have it to yourself.

Tacos with guac! What a great summit meal. Quiet spring hiking is very under rated
