Loved the video! I liked and subbed. What camera did you use? Escalante route is on my bucket list, along with Beamer to the LCR. What are your thoughts on doing this route in late winter/early spring to beat the heat? Planning to do NH-Tonto-GV next November (mid), may still be pretty warm at the river.
Hey Coon! Thanks for the sub and like. I used a GoPro 9 to shoot. Escalante was definitely an adventurous one. I think early spring would be nice near the bottom for sure, but the water will probably be cold. We went in October and the weather was great, but the water was ice cold! Still fun to jump in though haha
@@cheeseheadhikers8163 Sounds good! Hey, do you think you can provide the video settings you used? I use a GoPro 8 Black for my videos and am still searching for best settings. Thanks!
Awesome video - looks a little harder with your video than others that I watched which skipped some parts of the slide. What app did you use for navigation - gaia, all trails or? and did you have trouble losing the trail?
@@cheeseheadhikers8163 Excellent! We are permitted for a similar upcoming trip in April that was COVID-cancelled last year. Starting down the New Hance (Red Canyon) Trail, along the Escalante, up the Beamer Trail, and out via Tanner at Lipan Point. We’ll be going up the Slide and Seventy-Five Mile Creek slot, and down the Papago Wall. Great shots and narration.
@@tjl5794 that sounds like our trip, but in reverse! That rock slide is the scariest, most dangerous part in my opinion. At first look, the papagoa wall looks scary, but if you just shuttle your backpacks down it’s not too bad. Have fun and plan plenty of time each day, the hikes are slooow and grueling
@@tjl5794 Going UP the slide should be a challenge. You can actually bypass the Papago Wall with a high route if you can find it, but you may prefer the wall anyway.
