Solo backpacking in the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park is gorgeous. I've backpacked all over southern Utah and this rivaled any backcountry experience I've had. Get out there and enjoy Chesler Park and the Needles.
Great video, Treats! I did some backpacking in Canyonlands with a college Geology class in the '80s. The last time I was in Chesler Park was in 1996 with a Field Geology class I was teaching. It's one of my favorite places, and I need to get back there.
Thanks Rock Dogg! No way. It's so cool that you've traveled so much for work. I took a geology class in college (outside of Zion, NP) and it was one of the highlights of my education. The Needles was awesome and I can only imagine how much better it'd be with a teacher! 🍻
Beautiful video! "I'd rather know one place intimately than visit dozens of places for a brief moment" You are a good writer. Where can I read your essays? Glad you got out of your slump and back out in the natural world. Makes me think of a quote by Khalil Gibran "And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair"
Thank you so much. That is such a kind compliment! Nature always helps a slump, but so does being around good people. I used to read my essays over my videos. I did it more in the past. If I ever post them anywhere I'll let you know :) And thank you for the quote! What stunning words. I'm going to look up the author. Cheers 🍻🌵
