Backpacking the Roan Highlands - 3 Days in a Hiker’s Paradise 

Join us on a scenic backpacking trip through the Roan Highlands in Tennessee. After we enjoyed a comfortable stay at Mountain Harbour Bed and Breakfast we hopped on the Appalachian Trail at Hughes Gap. Our journey took us through lush landscapes, rocky terrains, and blooming rhododendrons. We visited landmarks like Roan High Knob Shelter, Carvers Gap, and the historic Cloudland Hotel site. Despite challenges like windy nights and steep climbs, the stunning views from Hump Mountain and Little Hump made it all worthwhile. Our hike concluded at Doll Flats before heading back to Mountain Harbour. Enjoy the highlights, insights, and moments of this memorable Appalachian Trail experience.
