Adrian Daniel haven't watched it yet but I think board games have a huge potential to be a great once a week or once every two weeks content! Thanks FH!
Im so scared this will get canceled like a lot of other new series. I've been watching this with the broadest smile I've ever caught myself on having. Please continue, I love this!
I believe it will be a Rooster Teeth First members only thing, like Theatre Mode (watching terrible horror movies, going full MST3K), Fullhaus (unedited gameplay and streams) and other randoms that make up more daily Funhaus than what's for free on RU-vid. If you are a fan who can't get enough of FH, it might be worth the membership. I don't watch much else other than Funhaus and find the extra videos worth it for what little it costs, but frivolous video memberships aren't something everyone will care about. If you like more than just Funhaus and want more content from the other channels, it becomes an even greater value on extra content per day.
I know the production value and time needed to create this show has to be higher than most other productions, but it was so refreshing and entertaining to watch. This game worked very well with everyone's personality, and I hope you can find other games that you all seem to enjoy. Thank you for all your hard work!
but the entertainment from tabletop is so dependant on who the guest players are, with this it'll be james (if its actually his show), funhaus and others from the letsplay family
And each of them have their own personality, they don't have to be dependent on all the guests, could be just these regulars and would **STILL** be funny AF.
TableTop is great and all, but I only watch the episodes with people I like. With James and the others, I'd totally watch every episode. Everyone is on point but Lawrence, as usual, and this is just generally fantastic.
You guys did some rules wrong: -Everyone start with 2 coins; -Ambassador pick 2 cards from the deck, and put 2 card back. He can switch the Ambassador, the other card, or none at all. He doesn't need to be "switching the ambassador" all the time; -You can't block for other players. You guys are saving each other from Assassination and Steal, but you can only block to save yourself. The Duke can block anyone from getting 2 coins because the action doesn't target him. But, it still was an amazing episode... I loved the way you guys roleplay and talk in this one.... just some info for you ^^
Also, didn't James screw up by saying to the other players to leave the card to the side when they exchanged, but then when he revealed to be the Duke when knocking Elyse out he put the Duke back in the pile to pick from.
Actually there's nothing in the rules stating you can't block for others. If you have a card that can block assassinations or stealing, you can totally use it to save another person. I play and own the coup game. You are correct on all the other rules though.
Ashley Chrysler Actually the rules do explicitly state who can block for specific cards. With the Duke it specifically says “Any player”. With the Contessa, Ambassador and Captain it says “The player who is being assassinated/stolen from may block”. If any player can block stealing or assassination, why wouldn’t it specifically say “Any player” like it does for the duke? Source: I also own and play Coup. Also, the board game designer answered this on BGG boardgamegeek.com/article/10440845#10440845
In my game that I have it says any player can block for any other player. I quote "counter actions can be taken by other players to intervene or block a players action." Nothing specifically saying it has to be the 2 involved. I'm reading this directly from my booklet of rules.
Ashley Chrysler my rules also state that, but that’s just a quick explanation of what “counteractions” are. You need to read a little further down where the rules explain the duke, assassin, and ambassador/captain and how to use each card to block. Do your rules not have that section?
lol she does this every time. I think she can't handle the preasure of being on the finals of every game so she takes herself out early game on purpose
True. She could have easily won the last game, she was ahead (if I understand the game correctly). That Duke challenge against Bruce was totally unnecessary. She was ahead of coup-ing money. A turn later after her next turn get coup bucks, she could have coup-ed, Bruce. Adam appears to not have a money gathering card or an assassin.
And that shouldn't be a thing. Only the person being stolen can block a action against themselves. So, you can't save someone from steal or assassinate.
I see what James does, tells everyone else “keep that card out you don’t wanna get it again” but always puts his dukes in when shuffling and pulls them back
I don't know why I randomly thought of Bruce screaming "AS THE CARDS DICTATE", but I had time come back and watch this. The Board as Hell series was something special
Bruce: As the cards dictate... I’m going to assassinate James! Lawrence: But you don’t have enough money... Bruce: AW FUCK, stupid ass game! I’m crying 😂
It's amazing how little of the rules they actually follow. Blocking for other people, and shuffling in cards sometimes and leaving them out other times. It's anarchy!
yeah i love board games, and seeing one of my favorite channel play them makes me happy! ill try to support this as much as i can to show my appreciation for this series! i know with you guys, every new episode will be better than before!
i've finished all of openhaus, your comments, gameplay, demo disk, google trends show, wheelhaus, and dude soup and not wanting to go into funhaus withdrawal, i decided to give the board as hell playlist a try. within the first minute, i knew i would not regret. this is amazing content :)
I love this. Those quick zoom cuts on cards being flipped/coins shifting zones/people having dumb faces were the best parts of the videos. Get your editors to do more of that and this show will be even better!
Great video, I love that you guys are playing board games! And starting with Coup is an excellent choice. If you love this game, I highly recommend The Resistance: Avalon. It's even crazier with bluffing and deceit. So, in the event that (A) Funhaus sees this message and (B) wants to play more Coup, here are some rule errors made throughout the video. Hopefully this doesn't come across as "ugghhh they are playing WRONG this video SUCKS", I just figured you might want to know for future reference. 2:00 (Start of the first game) - Everyone should start with two coins 4:00 - Bruce doesn't give away any of his cards just yet when using the Ambassador. He takes the top two cards from the deck and holds all four (the two from the deck and his original two) in his hand. He then decides which to keep and which to put back, then shuffles the two he doesn't want back into the deck. He could keep his original two cards, take both of the two new ones, or one of each. 5:20 - When Elyse won the challenge, she should put her card back in the deck and shuffle it before drawing so that she has the possibility of drawing it again. Also, the whole "draw two and choose" only applies to the Ambassador. In this case, she would only draw the top card and would have no choice to accept it. 15:55 - Bruce says that either he or Laurence could block James from stealing 2 coins from Laurence, but only Laurence can do so. You can't block stealing if it is not happening to you. However, you CAN challenge anything. Bruce could call BS on James having a Captain if he wanted to. (Elyse ultimately does this at 22:35.) 23:50 - Similar to the previous comment, you can only block an assassination attempt on yourself with Contessa. James can't use his Contessa to save Elyse from Adam's Assassin. James could, however, call BS on Adam's Assassin.
There are so many golden moments in this episode. The way James says his line at 30:14 is absolutely on-point for an olden-times play. I can just imagine a room of dudes and a single ghost, just chilling.
The best thing about Funhaus is they don't just play, they put their own spin on it and entertain xD I mean at first I was skeptical about how fun it would be to watch five adult dorks play a board game, but here I am now with a cup of tea and snacks, ready to have the time of my life xD hope they pump out more of this series
love the entire concept of the show, hope it continues being uploaded on yt and that the views are strong enough for it to continue being posted for free. i especially love how there is a brief explanation with b-roll of the premise of the game. love it. can't wait to see them play more games
This is one of my favorite quick games to get people introduced to newer card/board games. Happy to see the Funhaus gang play this game and see that we're not the only ones that turn "Duke" into a verb. There are a few rules they got wrong though. While a Duke can block Foreign Aid from anyone, a Contessa can only block your own assassination and a Captain/Ambassador can only block steals from yourself. Regardless, I'm glad that they're still having fun with the game.
This game is great. Bought it because of this video and had a blast. Bf and I played it with my folks and had a great time! They never play card games and we still had fun. It’s really about who you play with.
Sad but true. I stayed with them for about 6-7 years, but now I don't think I've watched a single new video that they've released since they got back to the office. Still got hundreds of hours of gold content though!
