Success is quality with consistency and that's why 20 years have passed and I, the father of 4 children, continue to listen to these guys with the same emotion. They are inspiration and proof that when we love what we do, time can pass, the body is no longer as easy to move around but the brightness in the eyes and the quality remain the same.
One thing I've always liked about these guys is there's not a single one of them that ever seems to overshadow the other 4. Nsync always had JT outdo them at every turn, he even went on to become a massive solo star while some of the others tried but struggled. These guys sing nearly equal parts in almost every song since they began in the early 90's, and they're still making music together 26 years later. Respect.
Yes I strongly agree growing up listening to them and we noticed they stand way out and they all sing a part. NSYNC was basically Justin and Jc singing. Never thought it was fair.
They pick really great songs and put out solid work and thus defy the whole boy band...thing. They also never try to be something they are not. I've always loved how genuine they are.
BSB never broke up. They took a hiatus from 2001-2003 then regrouped in 2004 and released an album in 2005. Kevin left in 2006 and returned in 2012 and in that time the boys did 2 albums and 3 tours as a quartet.

For Yahweh hates those who do all this, and drives them out before you because of these abominations. IN A WORLD LIKE THIS You've got me wide open wide open now I'm yours You found me heartbroken heartbroken on the floor Became my salvation, salvation through the war, yeah You got me wide open, wide open now I'm sure In a world like this where some back down I, I know we're gonna make it In a time like this where love comes 'round I, I know we gotta take it In a world like this where people fall apart In a time like this where nothing comes from the heart In a world like this, I've got you And now I'm free falling, free falling In your eyes You got me still calling, still calling, no surprise I never knew I could love till the end of time, yeah And now I'm free falling, free falling by your side In a world like this where some back down I, I know we're gonna make it In a time like this where love comes 'round I, I know we gotta take it In a world like this where people fall apart In a time like this where nothing comes from the heart In a world like this, I've got you Ah, yeah Ah, In a world like this You got me wide open, wide open, yeah And now I'm free falling, free falling Hey, yeah, yeah Yeah yeah yeah In a world like, in a world like 'Cause I got you, In a world like this In a world like this where some back down I, I know we're gonna make it (We're gonna make it) In a time like this where love comes 'round I, I know we gotta take it In a world like this where people fall apart In a time like this where nothing comes from the heart In a world like this, I've got you
why wasn't this song on the radio in 2013,? I don't remember hearing it even once on radio since it released in 2013 ( and I listen to a lot of radio). anyone?
Because mainstream pop radio stations only play whats hot and popular to the average 12-18 that's why. I still hear older BSB songs every once and a while.
Ashutosh Hegde This song was part of their First Album *without* their recording productions. So they wrote their own song and produced themselves. There is no radio edit to this song.
The best band in history, These guys have stick together for like 23 years while 1D is starting to split already. These guys deserve more than this, If you think about it these guys did it without youtube.
Didn't Kevin leave the band for awhile?? I'm a BSB fan have been for a long time. But don't dictate other boybands when the same has happened this one.
Yes Kevin did leave. He left in 2006 after the tour for their 2005 album "Never Gone". He left because he wanted to live a normal life for a while and start a family with his wife. Their first son was born in 2007. He returned in 2012, but the first hints of his return started in 2010 when he appeared with the other guys on the Oprah show. In 2011, the other guys toured with New Kids On The Block and Kevin had thought of rejoining BSB for that tour but decided not to. At a show on that tour in April 2012 was when Kevin's return was officially announced.
This song hits home ... As a Syrian refugee who grew up and learned English listening to the Backstreet Boys, struggling for sanity, peace and freedom "In a World Like This"!
I’m surprised this song didn’t get much recognition as should have. I miss when good music was more out there than the garage that’s promoted more today. I love this song I remember when the album came out & as soon as I played the album I’m like “omg this is it!”. All that goes through my mind is families jumping up & down on a large land holding hands, singing & playing together.
Bad timing. It was released back in 2013 when they didn't have as big of a social media presence as they do now with Instagram, etc. Their last album (DNA) got much more recognition and views. If this was released in 2020 (especially with the meaning of this song and the global pandemic), I think it would've been an absolute hit. That being said, this is one of my all time favorite BSB songs. Absolutely beautiful.
@@hanikarim8739 nah nah nah hes right.... its not his real voice its him and nick. and a producer making them sound good, as they explain in their documentary Brian crumbles under pressure due to an actual issue with his vocal chords and the muscles around it,i have the same thing, he uses autotune and his fellow bandmates to make it through, but still he gives chills on any song that he gets a part like that from the 90s too so p!nk fan can fuck off :)
@@debmalyadutta4756It is not because of his illness, but rather because his voice is of the tenor type in which he dominates the high notes, but weakens in the lower notes.
So much respect for them. One thing I've always loved abou them as a group, you can tell that they all synchronize on a work and personal level. They really enjoy working with each other, you can sense their brothership and see their joy! That's what music is all about! Giving people that outlet to appreciate something together, and a way to connect in a world that's so disconnected.
Heh, I'll still be listening to these guys when I'm old and gray. If they have a Backstreet Boys: Nursing Home concert in 50 years...I'll be wheeling myself there lol
I can't explain exactly why, but this song means a lot to me. When I went to the concert in summer 2013, and Kevin said "this song is for the fans who have stayed so dedicated to us all these years." I thought that was so sweet. I almost started tearing.
+Adriana Mileidy Gomez Sierra pity for latina? who falls for Asian korean teenie gayish boyish group who looks like bathed in chemical and undergone surgery to look like doll and still fails had to lip sync their alien language.
@@adrianamileidygomezsierra9022 hey...bsb has been around before they were born and also...bts is Like a freakishly long trend that will die down but bsb...we still respect them
This group never disappoints me. I listened very little when I was a kid and now, at 16, it's my favorite band. I will make sure the Backstreet Boys are remembered *in a world like this* until the last day of my life
This song to me is actually one of there best ever. The quality, the sound, backdrop, especially the delivery. All these years later. This whole album.
@chrispleasantable new kids didn’t though, a reunion (currently back together after a split) means a band/group was still broken up @ one point. bsb never reunited because they were never broken up. bsb has been together since 1993, new kids was together 1984 - 1994, 2008 - present. years active doesn’t refer to putting out music, touring ect. it actually refers to the bands/groups overall status. if you were actually old enough (their fanbase is actually about a decade older then bsb fanbase), to truly remember the original new kids on the block (instead of just pretending to be), you would know that they were broken up @ one point, (which still counts as a group/band who has been broken up).
This is one of those songs that at first you're like, "hmm it's nice I guess", but then it plays over and over again in your head and then it hunts your dreams and you can't live without it! BTW their live performance is amazing! Not even kidding, look at their live material.
Exactly :) I never thought these guys are still making music like Hanson I mean it's what they do and it really makes me happy because they're part of my 90's
This song was highly underappreciated. It should have been a hit. I was having a rough time but then I suddenly remembered this song as it played in my head. I forgot how much I loved it, how beautiful and much needed it was in this day and age. Thank you Backstreet Boys for creating something so touching and so empowering when often times there seems to be little light- but there is, in our hearts and of those we truly love.
this is why backstreet boys still melt hearts and sell out arenas after all these years they are the perfect group they are all so beautiful and sound amazing
I love this so much ❤. My son is 14 and currently recovering from mental health issues. Listening to this brings us hope . 😢 , he's doing so much better now !

We are here because we grow up by listning BSB's....Same World, Same People, Same Emotion But Different Time.......And their Voice & Songs are still Amazing. always remind me of my Childhood time when I started listning English Songs. Some of my favorite's are Bon jovi, Westlife, Blue, Akon, Shakira etc But BACKSTREET BOYS are Still Favorite of mine. Lots of Love From INDIA👍😊( May2018)
I grew up listening to their music and they were my first boy band craze. Cannot forget those days when I was crazy about them. I still love their music and voices.....
BSB was hit hard by 9/11. One of their road crew members on the Black and Blue Tour died on American Airlines Flight 11, the first plane that slammed into the World Trade Center. Brian's wife was also supposed to be on that flight, but cancelled her reservation the night before. Even though the Backstreet Boys were kings of the music industry back then, it was not an easy road for them.
franklin weston Actually, you pretty much just proved my point with this ignorant hateful comment. Tell me, If I am the one who is stupid why then is it you who is unable to use proper English, punctuation and capitalization in your comments? If this song is a completely "meaningless manufactured piece of garbage" than why does it sell? (Yes, I corrected your grammar.) I'm sure you'll just give me the whole spiel about how you think anyone who would listen to this kind of music is an idiot and how there are many idiots that listen to this kind of music and therefore that is why it sells. Then you'll proceed to go into how your musical tastes are far more advanced and exceed anyone else's, which leads to you satisfying your god complex. I'll save us both the trouble and time and just prove you wrong now. What do you call good music? I could be wrong, but judging by your profile pics I'd say it's something close to death metal where the singer growls out the lyrics to the point you cannot understand a word they are saying and has tattoos of swastikas and hail Satan on his chest. Am I warm? Either that or you listen to bands like Linkin Park and pretend you are bad ass while listening to whiny little bitches sing. While you yourself whine about how hard your life of playing video games and having your mommy bring you Totino's Pizza Rolls all day is. (scoff) Warning: You really don't want to get into a discussion of music with me. I took music theory in college and have been in and out of choirs and bands my whole life. You'll just wind up looking like the little pathetic 7th or 8th grader you are. Music comes from the soul and there is talent in every genre as well as a lack of talent in every genre. I listen to everything from The Backstreet Boys to Megadeth. I listen to BSB because they have the talent to harmonize beautifully together. I know they only co-write their songs but it doesn't stop them form being able to sing amazing songs. I listen to Megadeth because they kick ass and have great lyrics. By the Way, Dave Mustaine is awesome!!! If you knew anything about music you know that The Beatles started out very similar to BSB. Sure they wrote their own music but most of their early stuff was no different than what bsb does. Very generic pop songs. They would have never became as big as they did without the same type of fans you mock and despise. Good music is good music. Yes, many of the songs bsb has done through the years are corny and some of their songs just plain suck. I'll be the first to admit this. Yet, even you cannot deny that they can sing better than any other boy band before and since. Even if you do deny it it will only be because you are either tone deaf or you just want to stick to your mindless conclusions of what good music is. In that case, let me try and enlighten you as to what good music is. These are "good" bands/music groups/singers/composers based on talent: Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Megadeth, Yes, Deep Purple, Queen, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Tool, Flyleaf, Muse, Danny Kaye, Dean Martin, Foghat, Elvis, Aerosmith, CCR, James Gang, Nine Inch Nails, Cream, Enya, Skillet, ACDC, Billy Idol, Sublime, Van Halen, Pantera, Frank Sinatra, Newsboys, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, Radiohead, Wolfmother, Louie Armstrong, From Autumn To Ashes, Bob Dylan, Silverstein, James Taylor, Imagine Dragons, Plumb, Hawthorn Heights, Primus, Peter Gabriel, Augustana, TFK, As I lay Dying, Red, The Mars Volta, Reliant K, Bush, David Gray, Bullet for my Valentine, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Alice Cooper, Willy Nelson, Dido, Rob Thomas, Matchbox 20, Heart, Beck, Marilyn Manson, Chevelle, Jewel, Switchfoot, The Black Keys, Avenged Sevenfold, A perfect Circle, Slipknot, Guns N' Roses, Rush, Ted Nugent, Allman Brothers, Jerry Lee Lewis, Tired Pony, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Lecrae, MCR, Nine Lashes, Weird Al, The cranberries, Alice in Chains, Fireflight, Creed, Kiss, Elton John, David Bowie, No doubt, Goo Goo Dolls, Tom Petty, Bread, The Who, Bach, Beethoven, Tchaikovski, Smashing Pumpkins, Mozart, Journey, Johnny Cash, The Beatles, U2, Flogging Molly, BSB etc...Do I really have to go on. I realize you and many others would not agree with my list but I'm sure there is at least one on my list even you like. I listen to music based on the talent that is involved in making it. The fact that you like or do not like any of these bands, or singers is irrelevant. Every single one of them has produced good and talented music. Just because you may not like it does not change the fact that we as individuals are entitled to like what we want. You are not the only judge of talent and your opinion of good music is not the only opinion there is. Get over it! I'll give you this: There are still some things that some people do that come from the heart. You, however, are not one of these people. Just a short scroll of this page proves to me that you are a hateful ignorant adolescent who has no life, and therefore must seek out entertainment by putting others down who do not share your biased opinions. You're pathetic. Get a life, get off your ass and grow up, little whelp. ;)
franklin weston So, you have no better argument than calling me a liar? Wow, I guess I expected more from you. I should have guessed you wouldn't even read my comment and come up with some kind of bullshit so you can continue on with your meaningless existence. I see you can't even name one band, group or singer you can deem worthy of the phrase "good music". This proves you don't even care what good music is, you are only here to get a rise out of people because of your own pathetic worthlessness. Why would you misspell anything? Your spell-check and auto-correct does all that for you. Besides you did misspell the word "word", silly. The fact that you spelled: "word" W-O-R-L-D prove that you only get through life by using spell-check and auto-correct. Your inability to add periods, commas and capitalize the first word at the beginning of a sentence shows you for the illiterate fool you are and these simple facts are all one needs to see how ignorant you really are. I did study music theory, you're free to believe it or not. It doesn't make it any less true. I'm not trying to validate anything by writing this. I'm just telling you that you know nothing about music, and are not fooling me. It's funny you should bring up validation considering you have not validated anything you have written. You have not only been found guilty of this, but have ultimately proved you opinion is worthless. Until you are able to enlighten others with what you call good music you prove you are nothing more than a troll who gets off getting under people's skin. As if myself, a college graduate, would be fooled by your transparent mindless babble. Good try though. Also, How can I be a faggot? I am woman, moron.
But like any overgrown BSB fan you realize that today's vocal groups only seem to be liked base on looks. So you try to claim BSB success had nothing to do with there looks. Just so y'all BSB fans can try to claim it was just talent. And that every girl in the world in the late 90s early 2000s find every member motherfucking ugly. When there success was just like any boyband before or after BSB. Nothing but a bunch if stupid shallow girls thinking there in love with some pop artist. And thinking whatever song they lip sync is the greatest song ever. I remember the 90s very well. Hell 1d fans aren't even as shallow as BSB and nsync fans are.
franklin weston Actually when they came out I was only 13 and I didn't even like them nor did I even think about sex yet. (not everyone is perverted like you are) It wasn't until 2 years later that I got into them because I was in choir in school and liked the fact that they were the only singing group who stayed on key and harmonized together. I've always enjoyed older music like Dean Martin and Bing Crosby and many of BSB's songs sounded like these singers of the past. Of course after that I did start to find a couple of the guys attractive which is only natural considering I was 15 and going through puberty. Just so you know I never said BSB didn't get famous for their looks, you just made that up. If you are going to start making crap up then you will only make yourself look like a fool and all your arguments become invalid. (not that they have been valid anyway) I'll overlook your ignorance once again and ask do you really want to go there? BSB did get famous because they are attractive, but so do many rock/indy/pop bands etc. BSB are still making music that sells today not because they are attractive but because people can see their talent. If they were just talent-less pretty boys like Nsync they would have broke up just like they did because no one wants to see a bunch of middle aged losers sing out of key. If BSB were talent-less, as you seem to want to claim, they wouldn't be around still. They wouldn't be able to sell enough albums to continue making them. You're just butt-hurt because they sell more music than your talent-less piece of crap bands, that you still won't mention by the way. I'll even agree with you that there are many shallow BSB fans. There are also many fans like me who DO like them for their talent. Even when I did find two of them attractive I didn't think I was going to end up with one of them. I'm not stupid nor shallow. I've proven I have a higher I.Q than you numerous times. BSB fans like myself like their voices. We like that they are all happily married and have children that they put before themselves. You know nothing about them. You wouldn't even get it if you did educate yourself on them as individuals and good people, seeing as you only care about yourself and getting off on dissing other people's opinions. You wouldn't know the first thing about caring for a family. I on the other hand do have a family. I love my husband more than anything and don't need to listen to any band for the sole purpose of looking at them and swooning. When it comes down to it, you are free not to buy their albums and listen to whatever music you choose. Why can't you let others have the same freedom? Why do you have to bash and degrade those who differ from you? Are you afraid someone will think you are gay for not dissing BSB? Is it because you are full of hate and have an inferiority complex? Or is it because you are trying to make up for your inadequacy in your lower regions? Just go buy a big truck or something. Let people make their own decisions on what bands/groups to listen to, loser.
Since the Covid pandemic this song has a new meaning for me. In a time where everyone was so separated and angry and confused, I’d listen to this song and have hope for a sense of togetherness.
Naah, they are just getting better n better ;) They are after all grown men, they shouldnt stay at music style from 90's anymore. I think This album with Never Gone is the best type of music there is, I honestly fall deeper and deeper inlove with them every day. I hardly listen their old stuff anymore and now that they get to do whatever they want and they do this kind of songs.. and Love somebody and Show 'Em etc... It all says one thing: Amazing talented men! And now I sound like a lil fan girl hahaha but I can honestly say they are my band for life and it doesnt matter what people who follows hit song lists think about this, to true fans they are lifestyle, not a choice or just some band that can be tossed away.
I gotta admit I respect the BSB because they all are talented and all of them sing unlike some groups where there's 1 or 2 lead singers with 3 background singers plus they are still making good music. Much respect.
Although N'Sync has good song, and is a great band, they aren't like the BSB where everyone sings like you said. In N'Sync it's mostly Justin and JC who sing.
+Cristian Sun I catch my 3 and 5 y old daughters singing BSB all the time :-) And I have to say that even though they have had very good ballads through the years, I am in love with this album. My girls ask 'why do this musics not play on the radio?'. I ask the same!
So happy i got to grow up with BackStreetBoys as one of the bands i listened to a lot and always dreamed about being a singer in a popular boyband as so many other teenage boys around that age. It was amazing times and managed to see them twice in concert :)
This song is such an inspiration when someone is feeling down and or overworked you listen to this chorus and get the encouragement of making it through the day instead of backing out and giving up this song inspires people to keep moving
I don't care what anyone says about the Backstreet Boys, I have always loved their songs ever since I was eight or nine. I'll be 24 next week, and I STILL love their songs.
