I just plugged the specs into a arrow speed calculator that seems to run pretty true to what I've seen over a Chrono myself. 340IBO 29.5" draw 70lb 500gr arrow 15gr on the string Projected arrow speed is 280fps. The bow is actually pretty true to spec with it's 340IBO. That in and of itself with it's draw cycle is fantastic. I've watched several reviews on this bow and EVERY reviewer said they draw like they are 10lb lighter than measured yet give actual true to rating arrow speeds. Pretty amazing, especially from a smaller company.
I've seen and heard nothing but brilliant reviews on these Athens Vista bows, they definitely seem to be moving quickly up through the ranks and making there mark... Awesome review again thanks for sharing...👍👍
Really hoping you get your hands on the Axxis 35 for review. It seems not many people like to review longer bows. I would really like to see a review on the Vail but I think that would be asking to much, yea I would hunt with a 38 axle to axle.

The let off adjustment looks like a whole lot like lucky stops. They are awesome and I actually put them on all of my cable stop bows. Not sure if they are using them but they look very similar.
This bow just looks like it has everything I have been wanting. When you pull it back it looks like it just glides into the valley and back wall . No humps? How is the valley ? Can you let down without the bow wanting to take the off too fast ? This bow has my attention lol 😂. As always great review 👍!
I have the vista 33. Bought it in may. It rolls smoothly back to a stiff back wall. Doesn’t have hardly any valley at my 28inch draw. It isn’t bad to let down. It shoots very smoothly. But truly the draw weight on mine is 70 lbs. I had to verify because it felt like it was lighter than my Mathew’s at 65lbs. And the vista was 69.7 lbs lol. I would’ve bet money it was like 62lbs. It’s a great bow. And their customer service really is phenomenal
I shoot an older model, 2020 I think, Athens Ridge 32. I love it. I've dealt with their customer service a couple of times, with a very prompt response.....from the owners. Excellent company. I will stick with Athens as long as their company stays this good. My next bow is going to be the Vista 31.
Correct me if I am wrong but the Athens Vista series is probably the best compound bow you can order direct online from the manufacturer. Athens does this because they admit they don't have a wide dealer network. The pro shop only business model of other makers doesn't make much sense. For example the Bear Alaskan is pro shop only, yet the twin Bear Resurgence RTH is not. The Bear Legend XR is pro shop only, yet the much more expensive and more feature-rich Bear Escalate is not.
I agree, nice review again 👌 And maybe one thing to consider, the price tag bonus; since there are a lot of premium bows that are in between 1000-1500$ just maybe you could tighten the scale. Since this was 1050$ it was probably the cheapest premium bow you have had in review. You could have, in my opinion give 3 extra for that.. And thanks for the reply, keep up the good stuff.. I believe there is a lot of hype with new bow technology. Bows of 2009 and on been pretty darn accurate. If the bow fits you well and you have repeatable form that's the key. Older bows do the same thing as the newer ones accuracy wise. Newer bows might be a little less vibration and deader in the hand after release..
I am thinking the tech score should be a notch higher. The two cables attach to the opposite side of each cam to mitigate cam lean, using a simple tri-track system (ala new Bowtech bows). PSE quad-track and Mathews Crosscentric systems address this but are much more complex. The Athens system seems lighter, simpler, more serviceable, and even more effective/repeatable.
Would you prefer the AThens, Elite Envision or Omnia? I have some shoulder issues beginning and dont have ability to shoot the Athens before ordering. Draw cycle and performance are my only concern? Be for spot and stalk Deer/Elk/Bear
@@BackyardBows I have been hunting with 62-63 pound bows. If i had a smoother draw I could pull much more. Id like my 425gr arrows at 28,5 DL to stay at or above 275fps. Maybe I'm looking for a unicorn to grow old with. hahah
I have an issue with my left shoulder, I use an Athens vista 31- it definitely is a smooth bow, I shoot 65 and it feels like I’m pulling 40 lol great smooth transition into the valley, I recommend Athens vista, I’ve tried many many other bows but this vista is nice and easy on the shoulder
Minor note: Just a thought. Not throwing shade at all. Love the video…. But at 5:20 you say “unloosen”. And my brain asked itself if that just means to tighten it. And i dont think thats what you want to do actually. LoL. Love the formula you have for checking each bow with the different angles to see how they look and kinda noticing the feel of each bow from your movements.
i pull back 55lb but i found a good deal on one that’s at 60lb do you think with the smoothness and how you said it feels lighter i could pull it back?
And the stay hunting guarantee or whatever they call it. If your bow breaks, while you’re on a hunting trip, they will ship you one so you can finish the trip.
@@calebdan6796 I wonder how that works, and if they really can get you a bow to camp or close to where you are, I love the idea just hard imagining it playing out, just would like to here from someone who used the service
