I like how you went to the trouble to show the Sonos app and how easy it is to control all the different zones. It is a very flexible and easily controllable system. Great job on the install as always

If you used a SunBrite SB-V-65-4K TV you could have also used the SunBrite all weather soundbar to keep things weather ready. However great installation and amazing products. Happy installing.

I like how much you emphasised that the tv and playbar are not outdoor rated. Cant come back to haunt you when they fail.

I have had Sonos setup in a covered patio for 3 years with zero issues. When it fails I will happily replace it based on the quality and life span I have achieved. (No direct rain / sun) can get to it though. And I am in south Florida so no freeing issues.

With such a big project square footage wise how is it 2 underground subs weren't added? Also, why didn't you get a sound bar the width of the TV?

Which HDMI extender do you recommend to set up a sonos amp to an outdoor tv?

Would you recommend a sonos amp for every zone or one multi-zone amp with a sonos connect for each zone (something like a Dayton Audio 12 channel multi-zone amp). Trying to save a few bucks with the connects but not sure if it's worth it.

Hi Andy. This is Darrin from UnifySmartHome.com. I know this is over a year old, but I thought for other people asking the same question I would respond with my personal experience. The Dayton Audio MA1260 Multi-Zone is a 12 Channel Amplifier with 60WPC. In this backyard, they installed 6 speakers/with 12 channels (Each speaker is Dual Coil 2 channels) with 3 independent zone controls. To get the same control experience using the Dayton, we would need 3 Sonos Ports $1,350.00 and the MA1260. $750.00. $2,100.00 Vs $1,950.00 for 3 sonos amps, takes up a lot more room 16" wide vs 8.5" and now I need 3 sets of RCA cables and more wiring. I also have introduced another fail point ( The new Amp) and if it fails, my entire system goes down. Hope this gives you some good perspective. Thanks. Darrin

Why not mount the conduit next to the gutter, that would have looked a little better

They also drilled through the brick! Never drill through the brick, mortar only. Easier to fix if the conduit has to be taken down.

Shouldn't you have installed that 1/2'' conduit closer to the rain gutter so it's not as visible???

It doesn't really have a "right side up " sonos knows that it's a DIY product and that the name is a palindrome, so consumers dont really know where "up" is. Sonos has software "back up plans" and it knows which orientation its in, whether it be laying down, sonos logo up or sonos logo down, it will crorrect the LCR layout in the software. Also, its a cleaner setup if you have all the sonos I/O going up, so that you dont have a possibility of having the wires poke out the bottom.

It can be mounted either way. It has a sensor built within to determine which way it is positioned so that it sends the left and right signals to the appropriate end.

Try using the Sonos Playbar bracket as well as the generic mount together. That way the bar isn’t tilted down. Also rip ties (Velcro) will change your life. Zip ties suck. Last thing is white Etape all day. Doesn’t melt into black slag.
