Look into what’s more cost effective. Whatever your budget is. You can do a floating deck that goes from your garage to the fence. Add pavers as a walkway to the other are where you can do an eating area and also a fire pit. Add chicken wire at the bottom of the fence to keep bunnies out. You can also add a flower bed to the other side of the deck space and do some potted plants. Good luck and have fun.. finishing my fence and deck this summer..

Hi Emonie, your fence looks phenomenal. The fence only enhances the beauty of your backyard. You mentioned about maybe painting the fence. Having a wooden fence installed myself I stained my fence rather than painting because paint chips and after a while because of the elements outdoors wooden fencing starts looking old and neglected. With paint you’ll have to eventually chip the paint off yourself every year rather than every year staining and the fence looks new and fresh again. It’s just making your life easier is what my suggestion is. On another note, I love what your plans are for the backyard overall. I suggest having the old black cement chiseled up and laying large stone pavers where you want your pergola and furniture put. The cohesiveness of the same flooring will elevate your space to enjoy and admire. You’re doing your thang missy! Loving your vlogs.

I do agree with one of your followers by adding a nice deck for your patio furniture placement or a dry cementedpatio which you could stain to make it look more stylish ,pavers for a walk way ,magnolia tress ( easy to care for ) and of course some beautiful flowers, rose bush only if it's your budget. I would do a canopy cover with the screen net included to go over your patio furniture,. Love the progress of everything you have done with your house to make it a HOME ...congrats again .❤

Hi Emonie I don't know what you have to do as a youtuber but I see so many get sponsors to provide them with perculars and other products maybe you can look into that and save money . The. Fence turned out great . Your outdoor environment can give you new content for your channel it was hard to see your backyard as a whole but the pergular normally faces the back entrance of home styled as your patio and back porch styled as a deck overlooking your back yard . A area placed for your grill and dinning area a bistro set near your grill For the cook and dinning table for guest . pea gravel is nice but for a walk way around your pavement can become a lil messy because they don't like staying put in a very used area river rocks and or chips are better. Pansies are great annuals for summer growing but you normally mix them with other annuals that grow taller in a Pot placing them in the front or put 4 in a hanging pot for back porch or fence . I was a beginner did my research learned what zone that was capatible to where I live in order to know what kind of plants grow best where you live. Whether they grow best in the sun or shade or can thrive in both. Annuals are plants for partial spring all summer , perennials come back every year. The narrow space you showed in your yard would be a great space for hosta plants they love the shade and they pretty much take care of themselves with little watering placing ground covering to keep your gravel and rocks from sinking in the earth the pea gravel would add a beautiful look to that low traffic area. There is 3 truths to a beautiful large pot .1. Thriller which is your tallest plant in the center, 2 fillers which is different plants you like filling up the pot & 3 your spillers which are vines spilling from front & sides my favorite spiller are potato vines , favorite thriller is Dracaeous nickname spike plant . A can of plant miracle grow in the green & yellow can powder form , a 5 gallon paint bucket mix 5 scoops , bucket full of water stir in use once a week , continue to water as needed never letting your plants dry out during really hot weather especially for potted plants and watch your brown thumb turn green if you plant hosta's lil water no miracle gro and watch them return every year on time. Just research study your back yard for your own placement and everything will be Just fine. I enjoyed the video & Continued. Success ❤🙏.

It looks very nice! I only would have placed the group in the direction of looking into the garden. That makes the space even more open and you have the nice view to look into that fire pit. Also stacking the stones of the fire put on top of each other isn’t very stable. It looks more high end when stacked over the gap of the two downward ones, if that makes sense? 🌹

You can bring your style inside outside by putting black stain on the fence to match your white house and black shutters on the side of your garage windows and have the woodlook furnitures and outdoor rugs

Hey Emonie, I really like the fencing, it adds a sense of security and it looks charming. If I were you I would put the pergola in the corner, that way you will still have the openness of the yard. I have the pergola from Sam’s Club. I trimmed it with the clear Edison lights and it gives such a vibe. You can also use those pavers to create a walk from the kitchen to the pergola trimmed with flowers or much on both sides of the walk way. Wish I was there to help you. I love these kind of projects!🧑‍🌾🪴⛩️

The fence looks great .if I were you, I would not put the patio in the back of the garage . When you cook out, you'll have to walk all the way back there. You can't keep an eye on anything in the back of the garage.

Hi Emonie! You can have two areas. 1. Your main seating sectional area with fire pit when you look out your kitchen window. 2. Then around the corner you have your grill and dining table with umbrella set. If your budget allows for this design. Happy Sunday!

Hello Emoni. Don't rush! Most people have their seating area near their patio, side, or back door. You should want your main outdoor area where you can see from your window. Your outdoor should be an extension of your leaving area. Look at videos or magazines to see the exit from the house to the outdoor living area.

Hey Girl, I think the back area will give you more privacy from the high windows across the back and the high windows on the side. With the pergola you have complete privacy and not feel like eyes are watching you. You can pretty up the area on the side of the garage with flowers, chairs and maybe a firepit and keep the walkway to the back area sort of open.

Think about putting playground sand in between your pavers, vs. rocks that would be easier to walk on. I designed my paver patio and that's what I did. Also, think about a bench at the. End of your paver patio made of the same material and also fire pits come in a kit that match your choice of pavers. Mine is by Belgard. Measure 1000x and have them level 1000x to prevent water from standing on your patio! Enjoy sis! I'm from Ohio and I love seeing a fellow Buckeye win!

You have nice size yard. Me personally, I would put a deck and still have a ground patio. Maybe a fireplace behind the garage. I think the deck because if you're having a BBQ you will he going in and out the house for something and you don't want to have a long walk to the kitchen.

Make sure you get fix stained and/or sealed. That will extend life of fence. Weather can really mess up a fence. You are doing a great job!

I'm only 8 mins in ... but make sure you treat that wood and stain it. If you leave it bare like that the wood will gray and eventually rot out ... especially if you or your neighbor have a water sprinkler system. The small gaps under the fence are good. You need drainage if it rains. You don't want all that water collecting in your yard. I wouldn't return all those pickets ... keep a few for replacing any that get damaged in rainstorms etc.

Hey luv, I would advise you return that material if your not going to use them anytime soon especially the cement. Any mishap with water will make the cement harden and if they sit there to long they will harden with change of season. Happened to me.

Your soil might need to be tested and I used to live in Ohio sometime if you plant stuff before May it will die because of the Frost because Ohio is a cold climate just saying

Hey sis the buttom of the fence you should put some white stones running all along under the fence

You know if you want to you can take that wood back and get your money back extra material if you want to I love the fence

You can get some boards installed at the bottom of the fence to close in the uneven areas and so that nothing can dig into and enter your yard. I take it you want use your garage for your car 🤔

Love the idea of the pergola sitting around the back and the area leading to it will have a nice paved walkway… with the outdoor kitchen area and a smaller sitting area/ fire pit… lined with a nice mulch/flower area….the pergola being closer to the house kinda will close off the back space… being in the back allows for more area to congregate, cook at the grill etc.

Be sure to put a protective stain on your fence . You can put sand between your pavers , it's a special sand for pavers . You should build up dirt all around your fence line to fill in the unevenness, mulch will was away .

Hi Emonie, please do more research before you start.unless you plan to have someone do it for you. (and still research) I have diy'd my yard in the same fashion. Built my pergola, layed stepping stone, added edging etc. If you plan to DIY definitely grab your neighbors ....this is labor intensive. DO NOT just lay pavers down on the grass. Those pebbles also not a good idea unless you like a lot of maintenance. You will need more supplies than you think. I wish I could come help you lolol. I live in Michigan and I understand your weather. I will be finishing up my backyard starting in April or May. I had to stop last year because it got too cold for me. Yes . Have your landscaper to mark off the spaces. Also think about when you have parties it pretty far . Think about when you have to go back and forth in the house to get food and drinks.

You can do pavers with mulch n plants. You don’t have to spend a lot of money you can do different areas outlined with pavers, add some plants, plastic n then cover with mulch ❤

If you can wait to the end of summer . Lowe’s, Home Depot, and other stores mark their outdoor furniture down tremendously. Use what you have until then and you may look up on a very good deal.

Love the fence, I am in the process of getting my yard fence and all, if you don’t mind how much did you have to spend on fencing of course my yard is as large as yours, or how much was the wood.

Think about when your hosting. Do you want to walk that far to setup or do you want to have that close access to the house. I would suggest putting it closer to the house as it's an extension of the house and the view of it will please you more. Just my opinion as a designer.

I tried to read any of the comments to see if anyone asked, but didn't see this question. I did not see the men pour concrete where the set the Post for the fence, and I know that this is a procedure that they do so the structure will have some stability, did the fence guys do that?
