Hey Chef! I had a 1#blend of beef and pork and 1#turkey. I had to use a mix of mozzarella and queso in the middle using what I had! Meatloaf turned out awesome, my son loved it. Of course mine got baked in oven. Your recipe is a winner🏆 thank you again👍
I use my cast iron skillet cause the lodge loaf pan just ain’t big enough. NO turkey 😖🤢. I use ground grass fed beef, ground lamb, and ground pork mixed together. Ground turkey is gross 🤮
To hell with this courtin I'm coming over to eat that looks dam awesome. Put your mask on. 🤤🤗 I hope you and your love ones & friends are staying safe at these hard times we are having . Always looking forward for your new videos and information.
I like to lean my red ground beef with some lean ground venison... make it extra special with some ground back strap mixed up in the mix. Makes a serious double thin patty cheeseburger fresh off the cast iron going on a brioche bun from the bakery. You can thank me later. It’s SERIOUSLY GOOD.
Yup. been doing similar for many years. My HD chili is a fine grind venison backstrap.I do a meatloaf like this one x its half lean deer and half cheap burger.
Ground turkey....NO! I'm a beef guy all the way. Bacon is ok and I guess turkey is better than that imposter plant based sh*#! Of course I'm watching this because I've never had good luck making meatloaf.
Are you cooking in KCBS in Florida? I have a team in Arkansas and I’m the brisket cook. We have had moderate success with brisket in the past with some top five finishes against some heavy hitters. The last couple of years with Wagu becoming the norm instead the exception. It’s hard to compete against it so it’s run with the big dogs or stay on the porch. We’ve decided that we’ll stay on the porch a spell! Lol
Backwoods Gourmet Channel ...anything in the top ten is great when your cooking in pro divisions but a second place walk puts a whole lot more air under your feet on the way to the stage! By the way, the meat loaf looks amazing!
April 9th, 2020. Just made this for lunch. I used bacon on bottom only. The cheese I used is what I had laying around which was Mozzarella string cheese smoke flavored and regular mozzarella. It was delicious. Again thanks for all your videos.
Man this looks absolutely beautiful. As for ground turkey.... I love making ground turkey tacos. Omg sooo good. In fact I think it’s tastes better than ground beef tacos. Love your channel brother. It’s so comforting from the music down to the sound of your voice. Great job sir
We love ground turkey, pork, beef, chicken but not fish. We never ground our fish. You can also do this recipe in a 2 quart Dutch oven to feed more people. Looks good. Cheers 👍🏼🥩😎
you should definitley try find some recipes with ground chicken! love watching you! ive always had some interest in cast iron bc of my nana, but here recently ive had i guess you can say an obsession with cast iron and not many ppl on youtube i have liked but you stand out to me, you cook alot like me!!!!! stay safe, stay cozy, and keep on cooking!
One finally killed the other. I only have one now that is not laying. Time for some new chicks, but the ??current situation has all the chicks bought up. Who would have figured?
Oooh Wow!! Does that look good. I just bought one of those lodge loaf pans too. I use ground turkey when I make meat loaf in my 8 inch camp dutch oven. Try it with diced red bell peppers along with the diced onions...it's good. Great video!
Hooks never tried ground Turkey. Closest thing to it I have tried is those turkey and dressing TV dinners. Most deer sausage or extra lean hamburger meat taste bland until you add some fat to it.
We cook turkey products the biggest part of the time. Ground pork too. I’m getting up now, going to the freezer and pulling out a roll of meat blend of beef/pork and a roll of turkey to make this meal. I actually already have some baked and peeled sweet potatoes in the freezer.👍 I usually bake more than we will eat and freeze the extras for another meal.thanks so much for sharing the recipe😉👍❤️🇺🇸💙
Mrs Backwoods hates green peppers or I would have included. You have to cook to please the folks you cook for. I did not go to school to learn to cook. I did like the old days and listen and learned from family and friends that were great cooks.
Hey brother hope you and the family being safe. But I love turkey meat me and the Mrs haven’t ate red meat in 6weeks and I feel like I never ain’t the stuff. Also awesome videos, keep them coming 👍🏽
I like cast iron too but for my meatloaf I form the shape and cook it on a double layer of heavy duty foil with holes for drainage poked through with a pencil. You don't have to drain the grease and the outside turns out with a crisper crust while the inside is still moist and tender. I cook it indirect on an Akorn Jr with lump charcoal. I'll soon be trying your cheese stuffing idea. And leftover meat loaf sandwiches...Yum!
Best meatloaf sauce is 1/4 cup ketchup teaspoon of ground mustard 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and a couple shakes of Worcestershire sauce. Just whisk it in a bowl no need to heat and slather it on it’s seriously the best it will rival your sauce I guarantee it.
"So, Im going to show you how to make this nice, really flavorful meatloaf. And the thing that makes it really pop, makes it extra awesome? Yeah, not going to tell you that." Thanks. Never understood that "I have this amazing recipe that give us joy." "Wow, I can make it too?" "Nooo, secret recipe, so eat your dirt clod and piss off."
