Well nobody pays attention to this poor fella. Nene seems to give him more attention but he's not as nice to Nene as he is to Ai but So hardly gives him any attention and yet she's the one he likes more.
Shabani teases Nene because she always gives him the chase that he wants, Ai won’t play the chasing game so he leaves her alone. Now the family are living in the bigger and better enclosure Shabani has the children to play chasing with him.
I watched one in the new enclosure today also. There's a big difference when he has room to play with the children. I guess in the last 6 years he hasn't grown up any.. LOL
Yes, this is different type of play compared to when his significant other screams and runs him down. Then you can tell it will take more than a handful of grass or flowers to eat and bring her back to her kind self. He knows when he went to far.lol
VERY GOOD VIDEO> This does not seem to be angry aggression - but rather aggressive play, common in gorillas, especially those in such tight enclosures where boredom prevails. Shabani does seem rough at times in his teasing but is actually initiating games of chase, to which his female partner takes part in. If she were really being threatened, she would NOT be chasing him back. Though, she tends to emote her discourse from his teasing - I noticed several shots of "playface" expressions on both - (lower jaw hangs open whilst upper teeth covered) - Also she does not scream out, which gorillas do when frightened or angry - she instead makes sharp grunts (huffs) almost playfully. Also note the actions of the other gorillas; If these two were actually fighting, the other gorillas would act upset, yet they appear to be calm.
Kintaro is going to be that big when he's full grown if not bigger I'll bet she's bigger than his dad when he's full grown cuz he's already got muscles on top of muscles and he's just two and a half years old
I think it’s just a game of TAG. Do these fellas have a more natural environment? Everything seems to be concrete with a few logs & the odd schrub . It doesn’t seem to be a very nice environment for gorillas.
Lailonnie Tukes and then Shabani will beat the living shit out of him and give him the walking papers . Which is not a bad thing, because he’ll get transferred to a place where he has his wives waiting for him. I despise their captivity but I also respect and understand that the conservationists are doing a great job in keeping gorillas from going extinct.
No wonder he's rampaging because of all the noise, the relentless pounding and screams from the vistors gawking at him and troupe puts him on high alert.Please try to be more considerate of them.
I don't think he's hitting man that hard he just wants to play but you're right Nina is too old to be chasing him but she gets up in scoots pretty good for an old lady
They are probably the best fed of all the gorilla troupes I watch, right now they are probably cleaning the inside so they can fed them. And while they are eating the keepers come put food outside too. Their new inclosure is so much nicer. It’s bigger with lots of room to run and a big tower with 5 floors.
@@dorisgarner9193 unfortunately their new enclosure is crap also. Made convenient for humans and not the gorillas. It’s something that looked nice maybe 100 years ago, not for 2021. I do admit they are well fed thank goodness, but I hate seeing them live so unnatural. It’s bad enough they’re captive bred, at least a natural setting with trees to climb & a waterfall is the least they’re owed. They bring big money for the zoo I bet.

Please give them tall trees to climb and hid.Gorillas are shy animals and your enclosure is too exposured for these animals.Also where is there water supply. Feed them watermelons and favorite foods every day. Where isthere interaction with handlers? Also there is too much noise. These animals need peace and quiet.
Hi Kimberly this is a very old upload of the Shabani gorilla family, they have a new enclosure now and are fed very well, also Shabani, Ai, Kiyomosa and Annie were all born in zoos so they have grown up around crowds and noise. It's sad they are kept in captivity but it's safer for them. 🦍
@@ladyjulia2496 also the chances are if they freed back into the wild is zero or very little of surviving i rather them being at zoos for there own safety then being in the wild as humans the worst ever species are killing them off
@@ladyjulia2496 unfortunately that’s all the new enclosure is, new. Otherwise it’s crap all around, it was built to be made convenient for humans, not for the gorillas . It’s nothing but steel and cement.
