Even without playing the game or even knowing the characters this one song is really cool and the smile the character with the Christmas-light looking wing things does always gives me chills. Someday I’ll figure out a starting point to this series.

I'm exceptionally surprised at how much shading and definition you can get with casting static light over a varying depth of pins. This was beautiful and of course the song slaps as usual.

i love that when the screen turns white on the original video the pins change so the background pins are out and the silhouette is in

holy shit, it's not even monochrome. you mapped each pixels distance from the inside relative to its darkness. the flame was super fucking cool fuck its in blender

Pretty cool that when the background is black, the character is push outward with it being to opposite when the background is white. Really neat touch. Edit: To everybody saying this is built into Blender, I don't know how the HELL Blender works so you don't have to tell me.

Mokou's flames and the transition to Keine's beast form were really satisfying to watch. And the twinkling of the stars depicted by pins moving in and out? Mesmerizing. When i first saw this like, idk, 6, maybe 7 years ago, i was entranced by the fact that this was all done in Blender. At the time i was studying 3D art in Blender, and i did something similar as a class project. Using a flat plane, i made still waters that ripple and form a spinning yin yang, which gradually fades back into the still waters it came from. This was done using tricks that I would learn much further in the course, yet got the hang of in a couple days. It's thanks to this animation that inspired me to make something that ended up being featured on the school district's newsletter, as well as my city's news site. Thank you for being the inspiration that led me to that moment. 🙏❤️ Edit: my concept of time has been a bit skewed due to insomnia, making me believe this was a lot older than it really is, as well as when my 3D art course took place. Possibly because I was working nonstop on the project and hardly got any rest. I was so committed to my work that time just blurred. I've since learned to take breaks with a *healthy* amount of resting time, but I'll never forget the massively positive outcome that came from such a simple, yet inspiring video. I decided not to continue doing 3D art due to the unhealthy amount of hours spent in front of a couple screens with little to no sleep *BUT* I might consider it sometime in the future, with healthier ways of doing things
