I just purchased this firearm. A well thought out platform. It cycles properly and is well suited for home protection. Shotguns have been around for long enough that there shouldn’t be any excuses for cycling problems. I own Kel Tec firearms and pay attention to the forums. Kel Tec isn’t doing themselves any favors releasing firearms into the market before the bugs have been worked out. I applaud their efforts to present new and innovative platforms that give us a new aspect to our interests. My training for self defense involves engaging the enemy rapidly from the hip at close range and then raising your firearm for follow up shots beyond that engagement and that includes pistol. If you train for that type of engagement, you will be surprised how accurately you can put shots on target. If you engage the abdomen first and then the pneumo thorax your chances of subduing the enemy are increased. If you engage with 00 or 0000 buck in that fashion, it will be fatal for the enemy 100% of the time.
I absolutely love shotguns for home and property. Own both the KS7 and KSG and you are wrong about their performance. I which people would stop going on what someone else says. Apples per apples KS7 to this Hatsan. The 7+1 KS7 is the fastest most maneuverable pump I’ve ever owned. And I’ve owned all the 590’s and several 500’s and 870’s. But the Hatsan does come in several hundred dollars cheaper in a 5+1 capacity. If it runs every bit as good as my KS7 you might have a winner but with 2 less rounds.
I have a KSG. First time out had failures to feed. When I finally got a couple shells to feed they wouldn't fire. Sent to Keltec, returned 3 weeks later. Shot 100 rounds of everything I put in it, 00, 000, birdshot, mini's. Didn't try slugs though. At first I was hating the KSG now I love it. So it's a hit or miss. Keltec customer service was awesome.
Hey brother. I know you probably already know but hatsan are sending out the updated forends. Also buds has an "exclusive" Bulltac which has their 18" pic rail. Hatsan told me they will have those rails available in the future but the initial ones they get will be reserved for service, guessing they mean Bulltacs they get for fixing I guess. Keep making the vids👍🏽
I am not a gun enthusiast but would love to have a gun myself. I just want to thank you for reviewing the shotgun and explaining it in laymans term. I have seen several videos about gun reviews and they just too flashy and way too technical for me. I understand that they have to make an impression and show that they are "the expert" for credibility sake however you can build credibilty in explaining it to viewers in the way they or we can understand. I know gun safety but I am not very savvy in nomenclature of it and the technicalities. What is important for me is that the PROS and CONS that you talked about the gun and should you recommend it. Are we going to have a headache and is it easy to use? In short if I am not a gun person and see this video then you just ease my mind and made me understand what I am getting into. More power to you and your channel. Thank you for being simple and straight to tha point with your linggo.
I've been researching this gun for a month. I placed an order the other day. There is one main problem at the end of this quest; pin.I think at this price I can accept this problem. Also who wants mini slugs? I think 6 rounds are enough for home defense. If it works, there is no problem and it works like rolex..:)
Also you should check out the black aces bullpup pump. Pretty awesome for home defense. It is mag fed though. Ten round mags are abit large but work great or you could stick with 5 rounders. Best in between is the 7 round mags if you can find them. These bullpumps are under rated.
I didn't like that it wouldn't run mini shells reliably and have also seen complaints about the roll pin used in the racking mechanism falling out and rendering the firearm inoperable. That said, you sure can't beat the price.
Too bad Kel-Tec decided to not fix repeated flaws & keep that reputation, cuz customers still BUY THEM. I was looking forward to a KSG 410 as a high capacity backup
Yeah i tested the same shotgun out along with the other 199 PA shotguns. VRPF14. And Tokerav TAR12. This one came out on top for home defense...aside for the pins on the pump that cant be taken out without breaking them. SUB! My vids are in my armory Playlist 🎉
They do have full length rail and mag extension but for turkey region unfortunately. They also have some nice coat options. Also i believe it is based on the 870 but reworked for bull form. Smooth pump. Abit weighty but easy to manage and affordable. Waiting on the S.A model
Good choice not buying the ksg. Bought kel tec, never again. The materials they use aren't just cheap, they're not even quality enough to use in firearms. That's why they get so many service requests. Better to have something that runs and has slight issues like the roll pins that you can replace than having to fork out more money and have to send the gun back anyhow.
Mr Big Balls! Big Ballin' with no name callin'.. Im goin' all in so why you stallin'.. if you trip then you fallin' Look Jack.. No need to cut back when you tuck that bad boy in a ruck sack.. the kick back will buck back.. sit you down on your butt crack.. dont make it hit you in da nutsack.. f_ck that.. and when you done black.. put it right back up on the gun rack.. pour a drink and sit back.. blow a fart and make the duck quack.. then smoke a fat sack of that loud pack from the weed shack.. you know you need that.. and I can feel that.. I believe that.. It's ya boi D Tac.. just givin' you some honest feedback..
Bro thank u for speaking facts on keltec. What a pos firearms manufacturer. No QC, cheap quality, unreliable gun manufacturer. I don’t know why many keltec owners defend them so much. lol. It’s the strangest thing. Either that or it’s keltec bots. lol. And I say this being a non-proud owner of a ks7 that I had to send back and it’s still not working reliably. Thank god I never got rid of my mossy or remy.
Man I thought I'd at least get to see you cycle through some rounds.. 12 mins in and no BOOM :-( No shade - but sounds like you WANTED and was about to go with the KS7 but found a cheaper lookalike. Not that there's anything wrong with that if it suits you and is what you want/like... but I'd beg to differ on your take of the KS7s performance. I bought one about 18 months back and have cycled through quite a few boxes of ammo - from slugs, bird shot, buck, & minis as well - and other than a few cycling issues early on I haven't had any jams. And if being totally honest - The jams were my fault because I was trying to feather or short stroke the slide on the gun. I have an 870 super mag, and I can ease the action on that thing ever so slightly..... The KS7 likes to be man handled, not coddled - I cleared the jam and put some muscle in my tussle and the thing hasn't had any jams, failed ejections, or misfires since then.... I've run a load mixture of minis with 2 3/4 and did not have any failures. The only thing I haven't ran in it was 3" shells The teardown/reassembly was a little bit of a pain at first (I had issues aligning the bolt action back in place) but after a little practice that too became a non-issue. I was impressed and happy enough to buy another one on Black Friday of this year.
7:36 is there a way to fix that tube at all or are there tubes that will work for it or if anyone found a way to run the mini shells lmk, i have the 20G model would appreciate the help anyone thank you
why do people shoot vids in mirror? i thought this would be the perfect shotty for me as it looked like left ejection.. after hours of searching i was wrong.. mirror dosnt protect you from anything just shoot the damb vid. jhfc
Please stop rocking back and forth, very distracting. Do your review "off range"... gunfire is distracting, go to range for fire testing. Good info tho!! 😊
