At Blue Mountain Ski Resort, Danielsville, Pa. www.skibluemt.com/seasonal-act... Recorded in AVCHD Dolby Stereo with a Panasonic DMC-ZS3 by Dave Strickler
What make him so incredible, is that he ALWAYS plays with top flight bands. They are tight and lay down unadorned backing. Highly disciplined and evocative. Lay MS on top and the result is the best Blues on the planet. RIP
R.I.P One of the best. He talked with his guitar and sang well too. We must never forget him. A really good drummer in the band too. The whole band is just swinging so well . Without bluesmen like these we not have had a Chicago blues scene . No Rolling Stones and no UK blues scene, no Rock'n' Roll too. Amazing that Mississippi with their poverty could have so much good music. A luck for Chicago they came from the south and a luck for the western rock scene when Muddy Waters and other bluesmen from the south came to England.
Stop being an ass kisser, these old blues guys have no technical skill, they play the same old shit over and over again, every songs got the same lyrics just in a different order, you need to stop living in the past and wake up to whats about now, you guys paint this lovley picture of how everything was so perfect when you was a teenager, when in reality its all a load of bullshit, its much better today but your to blinded to realise, another thing about you old timers, you've lost the ability to take advice or listen to anyone talk sence, just like a child really, how boring it must be for the wife, I'm probably wasting my time right now.
@@thehomefront1905 I am just wondering why are you watching them playing if realy dislike and bored on their performance.i think it wouldn't be to much to give just a little bit appreciation to anyone who entertaining people no matter who you are, that is my humble opinion. Love from the NETHERLANDS 🇳🇱
saw him once at a concert in Vaulx-en-Velin, in June 2006 i think. Not many people because yeah people don't care much about the blues in Vaulx-en-Velin. But he gave it all. His entire crew they were on fire.... it was hell of a concert. I went there at the last minute. So glad I did! I had never heard of him prior to that... was different back then, not much youtube. Great singer, great player, great music band... What a night, what a memory. I loved electric blues so much it is the greatest suprise ever, to go to a concert of a singer you don't know and... it appears this singer is as good as any of your favorite singers.... i went to BB King concert on September 12th, 2006 in Munich and it was not better than the concert of Magic Slim! RIP to both of 'em...
Can't get enough of the great American Blues sound (raw---and unedited).....he's old here but still on fire!! God bless him! And the band is so tight!! Love the drums!
Love Magic Slim. Saw him twice at small Outdoor settings. Could lean on the stage or stand just a few feet away. Also saw him in a bar with about a capacity of 100 people. Doesn't get any better. RIP Slim
He was one of the best gifts in music and speaking face-to-face with he was a legend and I’ll never forget the conversation he and I had because I’m white & DUMB and he educated me🤑
Thanks so much for this - Magic Slim was one of my all time favourite bluesmen and gave so much enjoyment to so many over the years, right till the end. RIP Magic -
Sou um Brasileiro 62 anos, que gosta muito de ROCK, mesmo porque sou MOTOCICLISTA a 43 anos, preferindo sempre, e de preferencia por excelência ROCK e JAZZ e BLUE
Here's the real thing! Nothing like the old bluesmen-their guitars talk-not speed, just conversation using all of their instrument. Like James Cotton at the end of his career he was awesome too. (And I saw cotton dozens of times when he was young-even opening for Janis Joplin once). Saw Slim in Quebec City a few years back-but, boy is this cut great to my ears. THANKS for posting.
No disrespect, just saying Mr Cotton seemed a little bitter after an 88 Oberlin college solo show, outstanding, but when I was one of the few to go backstage to thank him for his contributions, he just asked if I wanted to buy a $20 album, then walked away Around 89, John Mayall was smiling as I did the same, before they left the stage in Cleveland, then Coco Montoya came over to say hello.
Just mentioning, Johnny Winter did a nice job with Muddy and James Cotton on "Hard Again" in 80s. Also stunning with Sonny Terry on "Whoopin". Thx for your comments, Jay.
Awebo ese el pinche Viejón del Blues. Magic Slim larga vida espiritual donde sea que te encuentres, nos dejaste un legado de amor pasión é intensidad por el Blues y por el RockNRoll en general......
I dream of being 80 years old using my walker to get to platform at church and sitting down like I might hurt my hip. Then letting the old frets pour through me . Younguns pay attention. Old timers are beyond your dreams . In fact you'll catch new dreams watching them.
I never get tired of Magic. His phrasing and dynamic range are second to none. Er a even with a Less Paul. As it is the big guy makes a Jag, look like a ukulele! I shook his hand, and my hand (same size as SRV's) disappeared in his. What ungodly vibrato he had. He gave it all. Chris
