@ScottsCarcameras 6 лет назад
Hi , are you from this country? As that a negative ,?thats not how it works , re the Law quoted in the video , the Doesn’t have “his lane “ and NO they can turn at the same time as traffic Turing.left they Must stop and wait , and I didn’t “Cross 2 lanes “ I made a turn which you can and go into any lane ! Laws maybe different in your country:)

@@ScottsCarcameras In Victoria an NSW when turning left you must keep to the left side of the road you are turning into. You can't just cut across lanes Fully Gored was partially right.
@ScottsCarcameras
@ScottsCarcameras 2 года назад
Hi Gertsy to clarify no that is incorrect the laws for this are the same in New South Wales Victoria and ALL states in Australia what you’ve got yourself confused on is a common misconception and the key is in your actual own wording of your comment when you wrote you must keep to the left "SIDE" of the road you were turning into ! That applies only on roads with one lane to turn into , eg you’re returning from a single turning lane into a single lane road Here where there are multiple lanes from a single turning lanes there is no left or right side of the road , when you can turn into any lane you wish unless there are lane markings or signs directing you otherwise So No fully Gored is a Moron :( I have attached a link to a video on this rule I’ve made have a watch and let me know if there are any questions . :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WHnXmVfGe4M.html

@@ScottsCarcameras Hi Scott's, Sorry that's confusing. The wording I have used is the road rule. Roads can have one lane or multiple lanes. The rule is you must keep to the left side of the "road" you turn into. That's what I was taught. Albeit 40 years ago. Once you have completed the turn you can then change lanes leaving sufficient distance and indication to do so. If it only applies 'on roads with one lane' that would be qualified in the rule. Please show me the rule that says otherwise or provides the exception and I will have learnt something new and will be genuinely appreciative. What I know is that Road Rules are not absolute, they are relative, so they will call out exceptions with words such as "except when....".
@ScottsCarcameras
@ScottsCarcameras 2 года назад
Hi sorry you're confused I'll try and clarify this for you again to make it more clear so the words you used is not the road rule there is no actual road rule that states when turning left you must keep the left side of the road what you're actually being confused with this rule 129 of the road rules which says “129 Keeping to the far left side of a road (1) A driver on a road (except a multi-lane road) must drive as near as practicable to the far left side of the road. : Maximum penalty--20 penalty units.” when driving on a road a single lane Rd you should keep as far left as practically and safely possible IE towards the gutter there is no actual legislation that states when turning left you must keep to the left side of the road it's implied through rule 129 when you're on a single lane road only that you tried at all times to keep to the far left side of the road for safety to avoid any collisions at the center line , however does not apply in any way to roads that have more than one lane so it has nothing to do with the example in the video. Where it refers to side of the road it is referring to where you are within that one lane not to do with different lanes ie a left lane or a right lane does that make sense now? OK what you were taught a long time ago is your probably you will probably taught this along time ago either the person who taught you at the time that this was their opinion that on a multiple lane road they want you to turn to the left lane then change lanes after as this was something that has been carried over by all the people who were taught to drive that way in other countries this has never been a rule in Australia and there even 40 years ago the rule was the same and has not been changed so where you say if there's only applies on roads with one lane, with regards to when turning left or right at an intersection if you are turning from a single turning lane or even a lane that allows you to turn into multiple lanes you can turn into whichever lane you want it is a myth that you must turn into the a set lane see the attached link I've made a video on this rule to help explain it for people if you have any more questions let me know ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WHnXmVfGe4M.html

+Scotts Car Cameras thought illegal undertaking occurs over 80? there most definitely is such a thing as undertaking, and weather or not it's actually illegal at any speed limit, majority of the time it's all bad idea and requires added caution and is ALWAYS a product of bad road craft.
@ashleyblack3941
@ashleyblack3941 6 лет назад
+Peter Marshall 3,4,5,6,8,12, lane the concept is the same as on the autobhan everyone in the lane to to right of you whichever lane you are in is going faster, most accidents occur when to vehicles move to the left at the same time. undertaking is both when it's actually illegal IE bus lane and when lane jumping where it may not technically be illegal, as I said tho I thought 80 and above was where keep left unless overtaking occurs. obviously you can pass safely on the left, there is added risk especially in high speed zones, and at the end of the day humans operate vehicles, so no system works perfectly. when I ride I avoid undertaking lest I be wiped out by slow reactions moving to the left as I'm about to pass, again humans.

rick holster if he is regular as clockwork, then have a chat at your local cop shop... especially if it isn't supposed to be on the road. There is sometimes a trifecta at work here... No number plates, no licence, bike wouldn't be road legal, such as no Speedo or lights. Some dirt bikes are not allowed on the road at all, others are Adventure bikes. If caught it could be $750 for no registration, $750 for no licence, and some more for non-road bike. These are victorian fees though.

The number of drivers on Sydney roads that rely on the other drivers on the road to keep them safe has increased over the past few years... defensive has become the only way to drive now. I'm looking at leaving Sydney and this is one of the biggest reasons.

20% of the drivers in my area drive like this, and they all seem to own Volvo's or Subaru's. A few hours on the road and I will see at least 20 of them on the far left outfield but occasionally I get a real treat with a driver encroaching the oncoming lane. At this point I will slow down to a really safe distance and sit back and wait for any "accidents" that may happen. This is one of the downsides of living in a major holiday destination where everyone is rubber necking and not watching what they are doing.

I completely understand where you're coming from about the rear vision mirrors you mentioned, as I've seen it too... But just so you know, there is a small minority of those people with disabilities, like I do, that use a special "panoramic rear vision mirror" (from Sydney Uni) to be able to drive legally when you're unable to turn your head as far as normal. But that's only in combination with additional smaller wing side mirrors to help cover the blind spots as well as the normal vision areas :-)

I'm from Los Angeles and I remember the first time I drove here in Australia when I turned left on a Red Traffic Light (safely, no oncoming traffic) thinking it was just fine as it is normal for us American drivers to do that as long as it is safe to do so. Suddenly the car behind me honk his horn and was hesterically waving his hands. Don't know what was his problem. Then I got home and started watching these kind of driving videos here in Australia. Now I STOP at Red Light before I turn left.

7:15 The Bank street example seems a little confusing. A 2 lane road splitting into what looks to be 2 2 lane roads. It might be better to remove the 2 dashes (one under the word bank, and the next one) leading up to that intersection, as it infers that a car in the left lane can also go straight ahead, as opposed to having to exit on to the ramp.
@ScottsCarcameras
@ScottsCarcameras 6 лет назад
Hi m yes it’s a bad design and in. High tourist area so get many out of Towners driving there m that why I didn’t go off at the driver. But to explain the left lane goes on,y left the right lane gets only to the right , the middle lane can spilt left or right.
@wodnala
@wodnala 6 лет назад
There is no "middle lane" leading in to that intersection. There are also no arrow markings, nor signs such as "Left lane must turn left", "Right lane must keep right" etc. With the road markings as they are, you can go either way from either lane. However, in order to proceed straight ahead from the left lane, you are crossing a lane marked with a dashed line, hence you may do so only after signalling your intention to change lanes, and then only if safe to do so. Probably less obvious, in order to access the ramp from the right lane, you are crossing a lane marked with a dashed line, hence you may do so only after signalling your intention to change lanes, and then only if safe to do so. Looks like a difficult one for the road designers. They can't make it "Left lane must turn left" because there is traffic from the previous intersection which must be allowed to go straight (Look at cars turning left from Pyrmont Bridge Road, and those coming from the Western Distributor). There are some places where you just have to depend on drivers exercising common sense and courteous behaviour. White car should have signalled the lane change. So should you.
@ScottsCarcameras
@ScottsCarcameras 6 лет назад
Negivite ! all correct except for your reference to the cam car , NO i wasn't crossing lines as you can see in video and google earth link the lines are not there for my lane as its intended to go left or right , the lane the car was in left only making a legal lane change which they didn't , as note din tei video can be a confusing intersections and they were probably tourrest so didn't chastise but shown for education the dangers driving in some places ! :)

The keep left rule is just a joke, particularly here in WA. For one thing everyone ignores it because one rarely sees a cop around to enforce the rule. Secondly, if I'm not mistaken, a vehicle can legally travel 20km/h BELOW the posted speed limit on a FREEWAY so you get all these muppets that think they're out for a Sunday drive!? Gets right up my nose when traveling on a freeway/motorway and vehicles are going well below the 100km/h limit with no traffic ahead of them.... Mind boggling

Hi not if you mean doing something wrong/illegal the lane I was in can go right under the bridge or left over the bridge from than lane it splits
@beaplummer3689
@beaplummer3689 6 лет назад
NSW is crazy for not allowing lane filtering from the shoulder, it’s safer for riders than splitting between two lanes of traffic.
@ScottsCarcameras
@ScottsCarcameras 6 лет назад
Hi , actually two things it’s not just nsw all states Don’t ,Qld allows but on,y on roads with speed limits about 90 , and only under 30 kmh , So still same for example s in the video , and when the various states ran trials and researched filtering before passing the laws , they found it was more dangerous using the shoulder , that’s why they didn’t allow it , place in nsw shoulder on motorways and main roads are often set as cyclist lanes

@ScottsCarcameras
@ScottsCarcameras 6 лет назад
Hi how are you , the answer to your question is there is no rule number as there is no such thing as undertaking , I assume you mean overtaking in the Left lane ? Thats legal , normal , ok , done millions of times as day , curious obliviously you are under the impression it was not legal , where did you get that idea from ? Good day :)

You can land filter on the shoulder if the spend limit is over 90kms and your only doing a max of 30km. QLD
@ScottsCarcameras
@ScottsCarcameras 6 лет назад
Hi yes that’s right , abut also only if traffic is also going under 30 , but that’s not allowed in other states and as the roads in bid has speed limit it’s under 90 riders still couldn’t do that in Qld :)

In qld we can lane filter on the shoulder as long as its 90k or higher
@ScottsCarcameras
@ScottsCarcameras 6 лет назад
90k that’s an expensive shoulder :) Yes I know but the rider and traffic must still under 30kmh , but as there were no examples of 90kmh roads it’s not compatible to th video examples , nsw Doesn’t do taht as how road setups are different so important for riders to know they can’t do it here , part of why I show them to let people form other states know :)

Scotts Car Cameras that's Kool mate I understand why you do it! But I truely beleive we should be like Europe and bikes can practically do what ever they want but that's my opinion don't want to debate or argue just my opinion coming from a rider
@ScottsCarcameras
@ScottsCarcameras 6 лет назад
All good friend , I think we would debate on the pros and cons and what bikes riders should be able to Do , but that’s ok , as long as we agree to follow the law (within reason ) and be good people on the road and not be assholes to other road uses of any vehicles , have a good one :)

Eric Hasagic You’re allowed to lane filter between lanes of traffic , but not down the kerb side , outside etc and not where there is only a single lane of traffic , same rules apply in Qld ,

No cops on the road in Perth. Our tax doesn't go there. So no indicating at all because cameras don't pick it up. Just a bit of revenue from 10km over the limit drivers.

@ScottsCarcameras
@ScottsCarcameras 6 лет назад
Hi , to explain riders are not allowed to overtake on the inside or outside of the traffic only filter between the cars for Safety , so this means they can’t overtake on the kerb /shoulder side of the road even if they are in the lane , same goes for if there parked on the road you can’t overtake Inbetween the parked cars the other traffic , does that explain ? :)

I was tempted to say that criminal genetics are responsible for your bad drivers, but people are idiots everywhere. Australia’s most dangerous driver issue is tourists who normally drive or learned to drive on the left going the wrong way down there. The other thing I see on DCOA that shocks me is drivers blasting though red lights and stop signs at high speeds. That is just nuts.

Tolls: A couple of Facts - for every litre of fuel you buy you pay - 38.6cents excise tax plus 10% GST to the Government. I.E if a litre of petrol costs $1.40 you pay 53cents - more than 1/3rd - in tax plus part of the money you pay in Registration, licencing and other fees! You actually pay three taxes on fuel - Fuel Excise, GST and World Parity Excise - a phone call to the Australian Taxation Office will inform you that the Fuel Excise you pay is for the building and maintenance of all road systems throughout Australia. Part of the Australian Constitution that makes the current charging of Tolls by the States illegal. Chapter V “The States”, Section 115 "a State shall not coin money nor make anything but gold and silver legal tender in payments of debts". Fuel Excise is a tax charged by the Federal Gov. for building roads, tunnels and bridges - also for the maintenance of these constructions. Back in 1979 Fuel Excise replaced Road Tax. Every time you buy fuel for your car, truck, lawn mower or boat you pay 38.4 cents per litre Fuel Excise. When you pay your vehicle Registration or Drivers Licence's - part of those charges goes towards roads, bridges and tunnels. The Australian Constitution “AC” states that “once a TAX is placed on anything by the Federal Gov. - no other TAX can be charged by any other Gov. State, Local Councils or otherwise even if that tax is removed by the Feds. Therefore all Roads, Bridges and Tunnels are paid for by the Australian People. Therefore my logic says, as a result, the people own the Roads, Bridges and Tunnels . tollbusterbobjarvis.weebly.com/ tollbusterbobjarvis.weebly.com/bob-jarvis-australian-constitution.html

Yes occasionally they contact for information on a clip or ask if i have anything from a time/place , and if the media do a story on a vid or clip ( which happens alot ) police sometimes follow up on thats , but mostly if you want a person charged you can take the video to the police sign a stamen and they will prosecute :)

another awesome vid Scott. We had a bought of road rage on Mother's day (myself, my sister, BIL and 4 year old niece went out to mum's grave to pay our respects) - some idiot came speeding up behind us, got pissed cos we were doing 80 in an 80 and tailgated us for 1.5km (less than a car length behind us at 80kph). Then pulled out and overtook us on double lines, then slammed his brakes to try and brake test us (failed). 500m down the road, he pulls over to the left without any warning or indicating to try and get behind us again. Fucking wanker. Sadly, I didn't think to get my phone out and record shit :( got his number plate number though (NSW). I mean, my lil 4 year old niece was in the car...my sister did nothing wrong, this guy just was pissed that my sister was doing the legal speed limit and he couldn't go faster and speed...what is it with some drivers?

yes, my main concern was my niece's safety (I was sitting next to her in the back seat, she was in her safety capsule/seat). I just don't understand the mentality of some drivers - they have no idea of safety, common sense or concern for others well being on the roads that they SHARE.
