Nice. I had never heard of this machine, but I am positive there is much worse out there to keep you busy for a whole lot of entertaining episodes. Subscribed. 😘
Well, thanks for saving me the effort. I just hadn't found the time to change my Darkstar into a Vocoda, and now I don't even know where I stored the chip. Thanks to you I'll stop searching for it and keep the Darkstar as it is ;-)
congratulations on your hilarious channel! just binge watched all the videos 🤪 one little improvement: make the funny comments appear a little bit longer so i don’t have to pause. also, make longer videos to really show the badness. in terms of bad gear, also have a look at the krk rokit speaker, model d tuning process and the sound device 302. even though this might be too expensive and it’s a personal hate relationship as the switches are tiny and resistant when you want to change them and in the way when things need to be done quickly. 😂
I have to pause to read your memes still, now I understand that it is part of the charm because you need to think twice on some of them to really get the joke.
Thanks for this! I always enjoy your videos, but this one saved me the effort of hunting down and installing a Vocoda chip for my Darkstar. Like you, I think I’ll stick to the original.
Okay - Please 🙏 Please 🙏 PLEASE 🙏 do one on the Korg MicroSampler (way overpriced and waay under developed) which was so bad, they disowned it in under a year. As far as samplers go, it will shock you.
@@AudioPilz when I first started performing as Random Loop Generator it was with the EG-101 and MC-303. I'm a big fan of the Roland SH-32, it got a bad rep, maybe bad enough for a future episode? I thoroughly recommend picking one up if you can 👌
too complicated and no really convincing output. Thanks for travelling those lands and testing for us, it's great to watch your explorations! Cools stuff!
Ugh. I have an XP2. Shame it cant take the Vocoder chip. Not that I'm sorry. I've still to use the XP2 for anything serious. Still, good video, theeeee yannk yooooo Orrrdeeyopilllzzzzz.
It sounds dull, like if someone put a blanket in the speakers. Cant put my finger on it but it sucks. Really bad. So... this was sold as a vocoder, but you had to update the hardware in order to use it???
They are readily available, e.g. on Reverb. Couldn't figure out whether you can get them for the XP2. Although I am not the biggest VOCODA fan, I will probably stick to mine
wow .. thats really bad.. i had the dark star xp2 and it was .. well not terrible but not really any good either.. but this one is terrible :D .. thanks for the videos!
been putting the Rhythm wolf through the mini kp3 vocoder lately for pumpy syncopated chords. The Digitech studio s200 rack module is nice bit of bad gear. I'm converting mine into a desktop FX because that's about the size of the main board inside. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GsoZQ33KMds.html
@@AudioPilz Thanks. btw, the Digitech studio s200 has a vocoder but I haven't tried it yet. It also has a bunch of midi-rout-ability, but a strange sample rate (46.875kHz).
Thanks for doing that. never got to test this out with mine but after seeing what you did i feel like I didn't miss much.. i used to have the warp factory which was pretty good, but i opted to stick with the boss SE70 of all things to be my vocoder.. as seen here.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RzMQff0Ngu0.html&t with my son..
@@AudioPilz Ever tried the ZOOM multifx rack with a VOCODER built in? Back in 1999? Same kind of muffled vocoder.. Yeah that one was crappy too. Now you say you use the micro korg vocoder? That one too is very limited but the SYNTH gives great raspy synth sounds so it kinda evens out. But it too is no good for me. 8 bands is not enough for usable talking robot/singing robot sounds. It IS great for BEATS though!! I remember running beats through the vocoder and it sounding insane, in a good way..
