I rank every female Cobra & ENEMY of GI Joe. #gijoeclassified, #cobra, #baroness We go through a bunch of obscure as hell characters from the many versions of GI Joe
The Baroness is my favorite Cobra female because of her Battle Ready Armor. She's also the first Cobra female character to be introduced. Hail Cobra!!!!
I find it interesting that few people know the origin behind Zarana's character design. Her unique look is based on Wendy Williams the late lead singer of the Plasmatics. From the hair to the face to the attitude, it's spot on.
For me, that beginning sequence of the movie with Pythona getting through all the Cobra defenses to get to Serpentor put me in awe as a kid. I thought to myself, this woman just took down all of Cobra by herself, which the entire GI Joe team hasn't been able to do EVER!! From that moment on, I loved her. Just loved her character. I wanted more from her and was sad she died at the end.
Yeah, Baroness is definitely #1, objectively. However, Zarana is my favorite. It's similar to the Joes, where Scarlett is objectively #1, but my favorite is Lady Jaye. I guess I just like the rougher, scrappier ladies with lots of attitude.
Honestly, its dang hard for me to decide between Baroness and Zarana. One thing I always found really hot about Zarana(not the only thing of course) was that tear on her jeans that was suppose to be giving a small peak at her pink pantyhose.
@@jonathanspivey437 I think on the original Zarana design, the tear was suppose to show her bare skin underneath. But maybe that was considered too much skin, on the original toy? Either way, torn jeans are sexy and badass, so I love that detail.
@@michaeljfoley1 I didnt know that. But on the Zarana action figure I hade the part of the leg shown in the jean tear was pink, clearly not the same as what her skin was, so I always assumed it was because she was wearing pink hose underneath her jeans.
I still remember the first time I saw the Baroness. I was 6 years old in 1984, and it started a... Trend... That has got me in so many problems... That a$$ though...
One character that I'm surprised you didn't list is cadet Deming. I believe she was in just one episode of the series. She was in that 2 part episode about Shipwreck (There's no place like Springfield) in which she tried to get the formula from Shipwreck's mind and ended up going insane. It was crazy. And there was another female cadet in the second season who tried to kill Leatherneck. I can't remember the episode or character name. Oh, and Zarna was also in love with mainframe in the animated series.
Yeah, Cadet Deming sprang to my mind as well. Very short appearance, but very memorable and dramatic. From two of the best episodes of the Sunbow series.
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal I do remember Chameleon. She was an interesting character. It's too bad she never was animated. It would have been an interesting fight.
Did we forget about the weird love relationship between Zarana and Mainframe? I certainly haven't. It would have been interesting to see how that relationship progressed.
This was pretty interesting; my GI Joe knowledge is a bit more peripheral, so the only characters I even _knew_ from the list were the Baroness, Zarana, Pythona... and bottom-of-the-list Dr Biggles-Jones, who I know from her crossover into the Transformers series...
Awesome vid as always, been watching the cartoon series lately (still my favorite) when are they gonna make a new one!!!??...really hoping they make a Pythona classified version soon
I love the Baroness, she's one of the greatest badgirls of all time! Her long black hair with glasses are iconic, with her tight shiny catsuit she is one of the most attractive characters that I have ever seen!
Baroness is the nr 1,2 & 3. As a comic character, anime character and figure. She is probably the figure that set the bar for toys for boy kids interested in a female character. I remember that with the Transformers team they were super hesitant to bring a female character at all. But the groundwork by GI Joe but also with M.a.s.k where you have Vanessa for example paved the way for many more female characters.
Here's what I could find as additions: Undertow Officer, Astoria Carlton-Ritz, Julie Kreig, Cadet Demming, Chameleon, Rednok, Tempest, Leila, Evy, Daemon, Savane, and Siren.
Pythona definitely seems to be growing in popularity recently, I'm really eager to see her role in the Skybound comics grow. Cobra La feels like it's getting a redemption in Skybound.
I think if the movie had pumped the brakes a bit and just had Pythona as the extent of cobra la I would have been ok with it. I first saw Heartwrencher as a cosplay girl. I had to look her up. I think she has good potential for Classifed figure..Definitely would pick that one up.
@@DestroIsMySpiritAnimal Theres a few pics on the internet of a full dreadnok gang complete with thundermachine. Thats where I saw her first. Theres a handful.of other random ones of her as well.
Wanted to spotlight some of Vypra's awesomeness. In addition to her Arashikage training background, she's a courier/vehicle driver. According to her filecard it says she snuck into Extensive Enterprises unnoticed to have a face-to-face interview with Cobra Commander who hired her on the spot. After a successful completion of CC's trial mission, she earned the privilege of having her pick of Cobra's motorpool for her missions. She's gotta be near the top of the list of Cobra vehicle drivers, comparable to Heartwrencher in skill with scout/medium attack vehicles. Like Firefly, Vypra's also done a very effective job of keeping her real identity secret, using pseudonyms like Ann A. Conda to throw people off her true identity. She's very high on my list of effective COBRA operatives, along with Munitia. Also, Crimson Asp is a COBRA-adjacent nepo baby as well; her dad is Coils O' Doom, a MARS-employed mercenary who had at least 1 run-in with a young Joe Colton back in the day.
Heart wrencher might be coming soon. Rumor was she'd be with falcon. But that turned out to be quarrel. Which was a good surprise. But now i'm hoping for a heart wrencher. Hopefully in a nice 2pack which seems to be a thing hasbro is getting into doing
another one left out was Evie (note sure on the name) she was the childhood friend of the Joe Ambush and was the only person who could ever find him when he was hiding. they faced off in the dessert. Sargent Slaughter was in that episode as well.
I agree with you on Cobra-La . While its fun and has kinda cool story and villains , it wasn't what I started with in my Joe love and was almost too much . I thought the purple dude with the blades on his elbows (Nemesis ?) was a cool figure even though a bit sci-fi . Me and friends used to call him Edward Elbowblades lol.
Well Destro. When this video started, we all knew who was one and two. LOL It's everyone 1 and 2. But the rest of the list was fun. Actually, I like Laura as a character. LOL, I hate the red shadow chick. Not as a character. LOL, she killed my girl Lady Jaye. She was designed to be a hated villain. It did however lead Flint into a great story arc with Devils due. Mistress Armada...I actually want Hasbro to make her for IG. It would be cool to fill that team with other characters. I had to get a Rowdy Roddy Piper from Mattel and have that destro shirt made for him. She would be a cool addition. Not very crimson in color Asp does look cool. The name is kind of funny...I would have gone with The Emerald Asp. I like Doctor Knox. She is underrated. ZANYA...actually my number 3. ( More into Dreadnoks than cobra la. But Pythona is number 4) I loved her character in the comics. I for sure want a classified of her. MonkeyWrench is the other one you looking for. It's just he likes fire threw explosions while Torch likes a good old-fashioned BBQ. LOL
I'd like to throw my hat into this ring. COBRAAAA! Jokes aside it's gotta be that one female range viper for me... Going on comic lore imagine how tough she'd have to be to become a range viper...
Does anyone know who the lady is in "Not A Ghost Of A Chance"? You can see her well at 6:44. I don't know if there was ever a name for her or that she did anything outside of that episode.
Has anyone ever handed Roadblock's ass to him the way Ms Big Boa did? I seem to recall Roadblock put up a better fight against even Nemesis Enforcer. That lady Big Boa was a real badass.
I've added 2 Female Figures from Valaverse to Cobra, the Red Baroness as Baroness sister, and 4 2-packs of Cobra Valkyries. So, 4 each for Baroness and her sisters guards. Zarana is more or less in the Dreadnoks.
I actually use 2 of the named Valaverse girls. I have 2 Blue Riot women as well, I use them as GCPD. I have 2 Blue males and 2 Blue Females. That's my GCPD at the moment. For NYPD I have a Female I can use as a Detective and 3 Shockwave Figures. So I really need a lot more 'Cops'!
I like G.I. Joe because of the Baroness. I despise the ninja aspect of the story and wouldn’t have made it past the first Snake Eyes/ Storm Shadow narrative if it weren’t for my desire to know more about her.
????? I love Zarana, but I never really saw her as a Grace Jones type. I kind of see her as closer to some of the villainesses from those Troma movies.
Man , as a kid in fourth grade in the 80s a buddy told me that if you sent in a drawing and short file card of their backstory that Hasbro would make the figure if it cut the mustard . I was so damn excited that was all I thought about for a month or so was drawing ( I was a decent artist even then ) and creating all sorts of characters . I brought pages and pages to him with excitement and asked him where to send them . He then said nonchalantly " I will find out from my parents" . So after a week of him blowing it off I asked are you sure Hasbro does this ? And he then said these crushing words " IDK . Im just guessing . How else could they come up with all those characters ? " My naive young ass lost my mind ! WHAT !!!!????? I wanted to kill him ! Partly cause he lied straight up and partly because I believed it !!!!!! LOL !!! Ahhh ...life before the internet heh heh .
Having Baroness as the top one is easy. Who would have thought that a character created just to give Cobra Commander someone to talk to in the first year when it was just him and Cobra soldiers would quickly evolve into being the best female villain of the 80s?
I dont think you forgot any character, but you did forget something ABOUT a character. How could you get so detailed about Zarana and not mention the love affair between her and Mainframe? Anyways, still good list and fun video.
I said it on your other video, and I'll say it again, there are only 2 great Joe females.... Lady Jaye was bangin Flint, and Baroness was bangin Destro. Everyone else was after my time. I stopped playing with GI Joe in 1989.
Hi. Why did you delete my comment asking if you were that actor? I didn't mean it disrespectfully it was a genuine question. If you aren't the same person you guys look a lot alike so I hope you can understand my confusion. Have you been asked this too many times and are annoyed by it? Please know I didn't mean anything negative and I was simply curious.
Your comments about female terrorists are interesting, but you have to remember that most terrorists come from exttremely miscoginistic countries where women just arent allowed to do things like that, and when they are it is usually them being pressured into being suicide bombers. Most terrorist are, in their own minds anyway, patriots, and women can and do love their countries just as much as men do. There is always some reason for violence. It doesn't just come from nowhere. Not saying that terrorism is excusable just understandable.
