Because that would mean it's brother is his dad or mom is his aunt, something like that and 2 related pig tails wouldn't produce a long tail, it's possible they'd produce something deformed but then again maybe not. Pig tails do breed with long tails and produce HYBRID offsprings that can look like a mixture of the 2 or even sometimes appear like 1 of the gene's dominated or something because I have seen a pigtail give birth to a hybrid that mostly resembled a long tail, atleast at birth. In that general region, if things continue has they are, both species might dissappear in time and be completely replaced with their hybrid offspring.

Not exactly what happened...! Not to mention, kidnapping amongst monkeys, is never going to stop. It is one of the main methods, used by the troop females, to innately display dominance, and reinforce more highly ranking positions within the troop, over others. The female that kidnaps the baby (referring only to cases where babies are mistreated by adult females) is showing an outward display of reinforcement, to mother and baby, as well as to all troop members, of the fact that she, in fact, ranks more highly, within the hierarchy of the troop to which they all belong, than, both, the baby at hand, and that baby's mother. That is why, in these cases, the mother is always unable to respond to the situation. If she were to challenge the more highly ranking kidnapper, then she would, ultimately, face severe repercussions from the kidnapper, in addition to the other troop members. In cases where young juvenile females kidnap babies, however, it is a different story, entirely. These young monkeys are, simply, attempting to acquire some hands-on experience with babies, in order to gain more first-hand knowledge and understanding, so they will be better prepared for becoming mothers, themselves, in the near future. Often times, in these cases, the babies are still handled in manners that seem very careless, or at times, even somewhat cruel, but with the young, inexperienced juveniles, this mistreatment is almost always accidental and unintentional, and just happens to be an unfortunate side effect of their learning processes!
