A Major Setback to my Sketching Adventures!
Since I got home from New York, things haven’t exactly been smooth sailing but I have had time to do some sketchbook work at home and snapped up a bargain in the Black Friday Sales.

I’m Kat (aka Kathryn), a part time artist living in Melbourne, Australia. I work mainly in multimedia using materials like acrylic gouache, Caran d’ache luminance pencils, Ecoline markers, Caran d’ache neocolors and so much more.

Oh Kat! I am so sorry to hear about your achilles, but also so glad it wasn't ruptured. Please take good care of yourself! You will heal. Love what you shared here with what happened and of course your art. I love the ink for the shadows. Thanks for sharing. Paula

Thanks so much for your well wishes :D I quite liked the ink for shadows and will probably use that again. I found it difficult when I was just using black fineliners to stop things from getting visually confusing.

Oh geez, sorry to hear you hurt yourself so badly, hope it heals quickly for you. Just love thev NY sketch that you were working on and the crowd sketch too. Love this painting - the colours are lovely!! They are so vibrant!! I'm so very sorry to hear about y0ur foot too. That's really a bummer. Hope you get well soon, I went back to Tokyo in November, it looks like I got bit by a tick onboard the first stage of the flight over. I first though it was just jet lag, but as the days went I was getting tired so quick my leg was swollen, when I got home I got a doctors appointment, he sent me to hospital suspected DVT, luckily it was cellulitis, got meds okay now, loved Tokyo stayed in asakusa got back to lot of places been before, new ones like nakano broadway, shimokitazawa and back to Sekaido art store Shinjuku, I've got loads of pics ill use to draw. I don't think ill get 2024, I'm planning 2025 island tour, I would like to go to new York, it would be 6 hour flight across Atlantic

I love Nakano so much. I've rented apartments (in the same block) a few times in the area. That tick thing sounds scary AF! it's too late for you now but there's a big English-speaking hospital near Tsukiji. Wow, a 6 hour flight is nothing. It was over 24 hours from here. Probably would've been a bit less but I stupidly got a flight with 2 stopovers.

@@sketchingtheworldwithkat ahh was at Tsukiji Market my last full day, I even passed that part of the Broadway I think you drew from. weather was fantastic, I'm all good now. Yes 6 hours, though Tokyo is 18-21 hours via somewhere like Dubai.
