nah bro even if it will be 3 hours it would still won't be able to adapt 110 chapter but for 5 hours it might be another story but I doubt that they will make it in 5 hours
Yeah as someone who has been watching the haikyuu anime since season 2 was released im really frustrated that they are rushing it into a movie they better be at LEAST 2 1/2 hours each
@@vaibhavisoniarts8062 if you look at the entirety of inarizaki match and shiratorizawa match like just the match no switching to other matches and repeating moments then a 2.5 hr movie can easily do it.
It's sad really... it's one of production i.g main anime in the past but now they just forget it somehow.... then again many production i.g anime for the recent years feel flat.
That’s what happens when the manga gets finished unfortunately Anime doesn’t really make much money so it’s actually just there to sell manga and merchandise
It still is… its one of the most popular series still in Japan. The movie broke records for opening. Its just been on break for a bit but the hype will be back once the movie is released outside of Japan.
@@broiamtesting I mean that itl feel like an afterthought. Despite how good movies may be, the fact we don't get a season or 2, to flesh it out makes me sad. It'll be over before it's started. Once it's out, that's really it.
@@benjamin_fwnyea but i don’t care about higher quality if the story telling is rushed tbh. haikyuu is much more about the characters and story telling than some flashing liking animation, this isn’t demon slayer.
@@gausly1032I'm up to date with the manga, I don't know if they would do this, but it being two movies, it does make sense that Karasuno vs. Nekoma would be the first movie. They are going to cut out some parts, but it doesn't make much sense to have the Rio arch in the first film. There are only two major games, and the other two, are not shown in the manga, so most likely not on film
@@gausly1032 true. They should release movies for nekoma vs karasuno and hinata vs kageyama final match and show rest in the seasons. It's so disappointing that one of favourite and such a great anime will be ended like this 😔. I really love the charector development they have showed in this anime and it's also one of the famous animes idk why they are hurting the fans of haikyuu?
Just watched the first of the 2 movies, The Dumpster Battle, and it was amazing. I’m worried that the second one is going to be rushed because they still have to finish nationals and the after high school stuff. I’m hoping that it will be a really long one so they can fit everything in
Don't lie, it was mediocre at best. Nothing that makes haikyu what it is was present in the movie. The only scene that made me feel like I was watching the show that loved was the Boom jump and crow breaking out of the cage. The rest of it was just corny compliments. There were no moments of desperation that drove me out of my like in the previous seasons. Most of the film was just backstory instead of the actual match that was so hyped up and despite this, the moments that were animated in the match were chosen to be possibly the most boring possible. It didn't live up to even a fraction of the hype of the dumpster battle, mainly because there was no godamn match to watch, only backstory.
@@adamya1639 ok now u just overexaggerating. Im not a manga reader so I really don't know the full scope of the dumpster battle, but the movie was definitely not all backstory OR boring. IT was jam packed with gorgeous animation, emotional story beats especially between hinata and kenma, and the rallies and sound effects and EVERYTHING came together in this movie. Even though it definitely should've been an entire season, saying the movie was mediocre is NOT close at all. It was a great movie.
I wish you all the best. I really hope that these films are at least long enough to not have bad pacing and include all of the best parts that fans have been looking forward too. And who knows, maybe, just maybe they will realise their error and give us a season 5 and even 6 (fingers crossed). This series deserves a proper adaptation
@@3b21ff3 where are the leaks? High fan base only means companies know people will watch it even if they don’t put much effort into production. Just look at My Hero Academia. Animation quality and pacing went down after S4, even though it’s still massively popular. They put in all that budget for the World Heroes Mission movie (which looked amazing and made a ton of money).
My guess after watching the first movie: second movie is gonna cover entire kamomedai game, and prob get to a little bit of the Brazil arc at the end, but no shot there’s time for any more without cutting out lots of important stuff
The first movie was good. they didn't rush anything even though it didn't go for long it felt way longer. Although I would rather more seasons, the first movie definitely didn't fail, exceeding expectations. Even brang me to tears as it ended.
I'd hold off on necessarily calling it *BAD* news. movies nowadays can range from 2 to 2 1/2 hours. who knows how long these films will be. in all honesty, they could be three hours (doubtful) and cover the entire story and wrap it nicely. If they are 2 hour films, then I think all we could ask for as fans, is the Nekoma game and Kamomedai game, as accurate and heart racingly depicted in the manga as they are. As well as Bokuto's new **normal**. after that, they should really focus on the character bonds that happen during Hinata's time outside of Japan, what with Oikawa, Iwa and Wakatoshi. the most important parts imo, Kamomedai game, and the Adlers vs Black Jackals. (ASAS Hinata vs Italian League Kageyama is last, and a huge part. really ties the story up.)
Even if both films were 2 hours long it would still be condensed like crazy. They should’ve really made the nekoma match and kamomedia matches into one season. Or two parts like ‘haikyuu: the dumpster battle’ and another part for the kamomedai match. That would’ve made sense to me as each match could fit into a season length and there would also be room for fukarodani’s match in the middle. Also with 25 episodes that could make room for the beach arc. Then they could’ve just ended with the alders v jackals match as it’s own movie as that match is fairly short compared to the others and would work beautifully in a movie format
man. i can't agree. there are litterally 3 more matches only in nationals. one development arc. another great match and the ending. For the nekoma and karasuno match you need at least 6-7 episodes. for the other 2 at least other 10 episodes combined. 4-5 episodes for the development arc. 6-7 episodes for the last match. and at least another episode to conclude. we are talking about more than one entire season condensed in two movies. 28 episodes are like 9.5 hours. even with two movies of 2.5 hours, you have major cuts and a lot of condensed stuff.
@@shoyohinata4544😭I want all you said but we’re not getting it! I honestly don’t think they’re getting a lot of profit off of the series and I watch this all the time, but why would they cut off the series if it was making money?
Honestly this makes me so glad I just went ahead with the manga, and I absolutely loved it. I’m just sad they can’t bother to make more than two movies at least.
The first movie was really good and the animation was BEAUTIFUL! The thing that gets me though was the fact that the main character was more so Kenma than Hinata or even any of the other Karasuno players. I also thought they spent too little time on the actual playing part and wasted time on the backstory. It was still thrilling and exciting, but I feel like we really missed out on extra plot that could have come from a new season. And the quality of the movie probably could have been condensed to a lower quality season (which is really saying something, because the animation quality was just so good that it could do with some lowering and still look good while giving us more content). Although, I don't know how the time frame would have worked out realistically for the poor animators.
I feel like I should mention that this isn’t a case of “BIG COMPANY MAKE BAD THING FOR THE BILLIONTH TIME BECAUSE MONEY.” The studio had been under a ton of pressure due to covid and the team behind it was hit so hard they had to swap animation teams and direction teams. After the mixed response to the animation change in season 4 they were likely pressured by BOTH logistical and profit concerns to push for just the two movies. It’s unfortunate but it’s not something to get ANGRY over and more just something a bit sad.
@@kanakrandheer well people can rewatch it and stuff like that, but why would we watch something we’ve mostly seen 2-4 times? The show doesn’t have anything else after season 4 so now we’re just waiting. Plus the mangas been over for awhile so there isn’t much left to talk about
I agree, after watching the dumpster battle and comparing Tskukishima's season 3 revelation moment vs Kenma's in the movie. They hit very different as the movie pace was that much faster.
The only way I see that they can save this is if the two movies are just the Nekoma and then the Kamemodai match and THEN they have a Season 5 for the time skip. Unless they do that, this is going to be REALLY bad…😅🙏🏽
Well now that the first movie is out, there was stuff missing unfortunately (that Nishinoya save with the heel), but I don’t think it was a fail, movie 2 will need to be longer.
These anime studios aren’t stupid and know how big the property is. The fact it’s going to be two movies shows me that they have faith in the serious to put that effort and money behind it. I don’t think most people understand how fast action in manga translate to animation. A chapter of mostly action can be a couple minutes, if that, depending on the length of the episode, season, or movie. Anime is usually going to drag things out and people see that as the only way or it’s rushed. Anyone mentioning chapter count as a negative either haven’t read or don’t understand how studios work with different lengths of time
A Haikyuu editor I follow went to Japan just to see the movies & said it was rushed & underwhelming. It’s time to fight for a reboot Haikyuu fans because they turned what should’ve been 2 more seasons into 2 hours (6 episodes basically).
i also agree. things ive noticed while watching haikyuu films on netflix, in difference with their episodes and seasons, its not as enjoyable. the movies felt too fast and i couldnt process anything, the seasons really made me want to spend more time watching haikyuu, the films just felt like a short animation at that point.
Karasuno vs. Nekoma could prolly fit in 1 movie ngl but idk how they're gonna fit the entire rest of the manga in, that just seems like a lot. If everything is meant to get wrapped right away, then things that would typically be built up and paid off over time will be crammed, right? That said, Karasuno vs. Kamomedai (I'm still in the process of reading it) doesn't *seem* likes it's so jam-packed full of flashbacks, dialogue, and character moments so it might be faster-paced on the screen than Karasuno vs Nekoma. And idk if Karasuno wins and goes to fight Fukurodani but I can't imagine that'll be a short match?? Even then, there's still two arcs that I've heard of that come after nationals so? At least this means the animation will prolly get a buff but idrc about that if the story gets battered and it feels disappointing The manga is a masterclass on writing, but the anime really makes the emotions more tangible to the viewers. It'd be a shame not to get a lotta that ex. Hinata coming across the first poster Yachi made for donations hits way heavier in the anime than it does in the manga. I think quieter moments like those might get left out. But I'm even a bit worried for Nekoma cuz I've heard that the movie is ~1hr30min, but an average 3-set volleyball game sits around that length. How are we getting a ton of rallies, and room for dialogue, character building, flashbacks, etc?
If they rush the time skip it will ruin Hinata charater development.Hopefully it get a whole movie Also animes like demon slayer have few ch but haikyuu has more than enough ch chapter
I was extremely unsatisfied by the movie... I enjoyed it but I was left missing the details and the characters developing fully. So sad about this decision. Been waiting a long time for this and got an hour and twenty five minutes : ( should've made it at least two and a half if they are going to give us a rushed depiction of this long awaited, fated, and iconic battle! 💔 damn
This is such a bizarre move especially when haikyuu is literally one of the best sports anime. That's the exact reason I didn't even bother with it and im just paying to watch csm instead.
they gonna make both movies focus on next two matches and then speedrun the rest in last 15minutes in form of footnotes like they did for promised neverland
@@heisenberg6197 sadly that does not disprove my theory though, as fans were enraged with how they did promised neverland too. and if you watched the s2 of TPM you know how they speedrun it and how they literally ended with whole arc crammed in 2min of highlight slideshows
@@frankcayseron8637yeah and promised never land isn’t haikyu bruh. They ain’t the same. They really ain’t. If promised never land did a movie then maybe but haikyu having 4 stellar seasons and now getting a movie isn’t bad. I think people underestimate how long regular anime episodes just pad out the run time
do you even know what you argue about? do you even know how much manga chapters is left to be covered? do you understand the concept of pacing? there is absolutely no way to do rest of manga justice and give screen time to every chapter properly with just 2 movies. who the hell is comparing haikyuu with TPN in ANY WAY narratively or otherwise. i am saying the ending will be rushed in the same way. 2 movies will focus mainly on 2 specific matches and then rest of manga will be rushed and jumbled into 10-15 minutes of condensted short scenes with lot of time skips just to get over it. in order to properly animate the whole manga and give every chapter justice and end it properly they would need whole season on top of the two promised movies. as we are not getting season 5 haikyuu anime will either be rushed the same way promised neverland anime was rushed into sloppy ending that some 5 year old could make on powerpoint OR it will ignore a big chunk of manga and create anime exclusive ending like hxh2011@@The-Legend-of-P
@@frankcayseron8637 the hxh ending DID happen in the manga. It just ended since they caught up to the manga. There’s only like 60 chapters from end of hxh anime-manga that’s why it had to end abruptly. Yes I do. 110 chapters. Like 70-80 being mostly action and volleyball games. Pacing yes, but again a quick 2 minute pacing doesn’t take long especially when it’s just random character moments lmao. And comparing it to TPN still isn’t valid bruh. They’re completely different. TPN had 1 good season and then weighed 5 years. They didn’t adapt ANY of the manga post season 1 and then just rushed the ending into a slideshow. Also if you’re gonna trash TPN and compare it to haikyu, then do you not remover the actual ending of haikyu IS a slideshow ending? Like almost every anime/show ending since the dawn of time? But whatever. Haikyu had 4 seasons almost 1-1 identical with the manga. FOUR seasons compared to TPN 1 and done. If the endings rushed then cool? Idk what you expect cause it’s Black jackals game, then the end. If you want to see the final final game in the Olympics then that ain’t gonna happen lmao. That’ll just be a final shot and show all the characters on the Olympics. 2 movies means, the nekoma and kamemomdai match will be the first movie. Yes they might be rushed and skip some parts of the manga, but that’s to be expected even in a season. The second movie will be the Brazil arc, then black jackals and adlers match and then the end of the show. 60-75 minutes per match is enough to do every small point, every moment and even the cooler ones. They show points in like 3 seconds sometimes, sometimes longer rallies are 30 seconds. That’s very quick
Please, will it be enough?😭 I hope they can fit the remaining matches of the nationals arc, the brazil arc, the jackals vs. adlers arc, and even a little bit of the japan team and the latest chapters into those 2 films without missing any detail. Gosh, just thinking about it makes me think it's gonna cut short already
I think it’ll be enough. There’s only 2 games left for nationals and if they’re all action shots then there isn’t an issue. The plot and flashbacks will be fine but I think they already showed some anyways. Also 1 movie will be good to wrap up nationals and then the Brazil arc too in another
I came late, after watching the Battle for the Garbage Dump. For what it's worth, the movie has a lot of good going for it and while it was annoying that it's relatively short, it also made the final scene of the match hit so much harder.
I don't think it will end here, regardless two of the main goals being accomplished (The Dumpster Battle and Karasuno going to the Ntuonals). But we still have the Bokuto and Akaashi arc (probably it will be a movie), and the final match between Hinata (MSBY) and Kageyama (Adlers). Besides, some justice should be done for the character art from the timelapse 😢
I want to say the 2 haikyuu movies titled the final is meant to mean the whole nationals arc. I hope/believe they will then finish the show with a final season. It's the only right way to give the anime justice.
I just finished the manga and its fits perfect with the rest of nationals for the first movie and leave us off with a nice cliffhanger hanger for the second. It wont be rushed at all
I hope we will get a time skip and see them all hanging out together at some big volleyball event. Haikyuu will never end, I´ll just watch it over and over again. thanks to everyone who has done all those funniest episodes compilations on YT :)
I don’t read the manga and haven’t watched the anime in four years before last week. Loved this anime for a lot of reasons, and now I’m VERY disappointed because I won’t get the full story.
I just read the manga to get the best experience and man,it was so amazing, the art actually feels so fluid and you feel the tension and the anticipation in every page.
Well the first movie is an hour and 25 min, who knows the second one could the longest one to cover everything from the 100 chapters or so. As someone whos been there since we only had 3 seasons. I was and am more pissed that they boys gets 12 EPISODES per part or so meanwhile shows like Demon Slayer and JJK can get a full as season (25 episodes or so). These boys deserves JUST AS MUCH AS OTHER ANIMES. But most would say "But those animes makes sense since they are Shonen"...SO IS HAIKYUU! So they should get just as much as other shows. Hell Inazuma has 2 seasons (the Ares and Orion season in the Inazume Eleven franchise) and those two are 26 and 49 episodes each and they are in the same area as Haikyuu, that being a Sports anime. Sorry if I came off as pissy and all of that. Everyone in the world of Haikyuu has been an important part of my life. lets just hope that the second movie doesn't get cancelled like the Yuri on Ice movie. But then again it all comes down to how much each studio makes. Hence the "popularity" of Demon Slayer. So it can strike fear but we all should just worry for now and watch for any news with caution. No matter what we get, we should be the ones to keep talking about it so Japan and studios over will notice that it is a important thing that they are sleeping on. We should keep Haikyuu alive, keep the rally up and keep it connected. SO sorry for the long comment, I just love Haikyuu so much and get a bit passionate about it ^^"
Watched the movie the other day. It was great actually. But then nothing compares to watching a season, full of episodes highlighting different character interactions, struggles and tension, etc. The Dumpster Battle movie cut out a lot of scenes especially the interaction of the audience, players form each team, and even the explanations from the commentators. I thoroughly enjoyed the anime since day 1 because of how realistic it is, like watching an actual volleyball game, and being a part of the characters journey. So how are they going to show Hinata kun’s adventure in Brazil?! Like show it, wrap it up in just 10 mins as a part of a 1 1/2 hour movie? 🥲
I mean, there’s is manga chapter that cover one point only some don’t even get to that. Movie for 1 volleyball match is fine they’ll be able to cover it all
To be fair, I think the end of haikyuu is very very fast paced, outside of after games, into Brazil up to end for sure slows down, but the games are very quick and the movie would make it where they wouldn't need to have small little breaks between every single detail to fill out a whole season or 2. So assuming the movie are not short, it should be fine I think.
I mean that depends on the adaptation. They might just cut out unnecessary dialogue and make them play volleyball faster. The difference with Sports Manga and regular manga is that chapters are long because they draw scene by scene for the manga. 1 Chapter may be summed up in a matter of 3 minutes in an anime.
I mean, they have the match against nekoma and the last tournament match, which will be the end of the first move. Then the beach arc and the last match of the series. There's really not that much left to adapt and make it fit a great form factor. I can actually see 2 movies having potential depending on how they're done. If you think about it from a storyboard perspective, I can actually see this making sense, even if I don't love the format choice.
I just assumed they weren’t gonna adapt everything. I was only expecting to get the end of the nationals arc in both movies. I don’t expect the Rio arc and Olympics arc to ever be animated or even included in the films
Haven’t read the haikyuu manga, but from what I’ve seen in the anime, I’ll bet they can stick 100 chapters in 2 films. The matches are far too long, or at least longer than necessary to tell the story. I’m sure they can cut some extra stuff and still keep the core of the story intact. It won’t be the end of the world like you’re saying
On god bruh! The matches are somewhat long but it’s just action shots and action shots of people scoring and playing volleyball. It won’t be long and it won’t be the end of the world.
