Holy God Almighty! I absolutely know what you were talking about with the chaos of such… I’ve been in the business buying arena for just shy of a decade… You’re pretty much guaranteed to have one like this on your first time at bat! Even though you run a pretty big business already, most people have almost 0 education in Actual businesses… What many people call a business is actually just one person and a complete chaos of direct reports, and the main person doing more or less everything! Systems and processes are so critical… But out of the small percentage of businesses that survive for five or 10 years, even a tiny fraction of that actually have business plans and organizational structures etc. in place. Oh man, I can feel your pain right now in the pit of my stomach! Good business coaches and consultants can help out with that, but you also need to get the handoff/training. In writing in the contract. Since he’s a friend, it should theoretically be pretty easy to call him back up and have him help you set up the plan and make the transition smoother! But you already are dealing with the bulk of the pain… If You we’re profitable before it can be profitable again. You need to set up your org chart, have a decent management team in place etc. You know where to find these people already! Hit me up if you want a more in-depth consult. Big love to your man, you’re kicking ass. 805-253-7753
If I were to take over ClickFunnels, I’d put together some sort of linear path for new people. Upswells are great. I’m sure I’ll use them. But last year I got completely overwhelmed with so much coming at me so fast, so I walked away and decided to wait for 2.0 in hopes things would be a bit less chaotic feeling. There’s something to be said for full immersion, but, there’s also something to be said for different styles of learning. Some of us really need structure. 🫣 Anyway, really hoping to not get frustrated this time. 😎
I bought doodly years ago and haven’t used it in a long time. I did see an email to update several months ago and haven’t. I guess I need to see what that was all about.
I actually promoted doodly software way back when it was just come out. And unfortunately couldn't find the right angle to promote it so I didn't but it looked so cool then and I cant imagine how cool it is now especially since you aquire it, I will definitely try it myself this time around.
Great video, I loved it! One quick question: Russel said there were 100 employees when they took over the company. What could 100 people do with such a simple software? No offense, I am honestly curoius.
Congrats for turning it around! But I can not believe that this happened to Russel and cf. How in the world !?! This should not happen to a 9-Figure Company.
Russel, although u said it's a failing business, but i also went to bought it.. BUT the delivery and customer service is slow to response to my request.. first it was fine. then later on... please fix this
Russell what's ur take on someone who is inexperienced initially to attract clients when all clients want is a person with 2-3 yrs of experience in handling the projects but market is not ready to accept fresher candidates but demand too much ? Is being a generalist a good idea or is it creating the unique value which is important in such a situation.. how can a solopreneur create space for himself in the early days without wasting time...
@@bjoernmayer Yes that's exactly what I did when I started. Just make sure to get a testimonial either written or on video so you can use that to market your services to new clients. Social proof is very important when starting out.
Can't believe that Russell, of all people, made some of those mistakes. How do you buy an expensive company and not KNOW that the main customers align with the other things you want them to buy? You are stretched WAAAAY too thin if you don't have the brain time to work through all those considerations. The core person running the acquired company doesn't stay on for a period of time to turn over his hat and train others to do his work?!? Come on...
😅 first when I land on your website for business purposes the price of service is so High i can't afford to use that. Second there are so many other tools offer same but free or so cheap to do the same work. Third point is your in red ocean there are software like canva and i literally saw a marketing app offering hosting in 1 doller approximately in india. If you trying to convenience me and push me to buy upgraded version or a upsells i am not going to buy that thing that's not make any sense to me. I think you need to work on price and not a trial version but a proper free version to atleast test the service and you can focus on data selling Stuff and influencer marketing might also help helps to boost sell.
