I agree! GRA: Chinatown Wars was a great game. I think this RU-vidr doesn’t understand that the hardware limitations and the design choice of the developer dictated how GTA would be on the Nintendo DS and I have to say that they did a GREAT and SMART job making a game that is appropriate for the system it is on. Plus, the game was purposely modeled after GTA III for the PlayStation.
china town wars isnt for everybody. i didnt like it when it first came out but recently started playing it again and it is very enjoible. the reson i didnt like it was top down view. granted at that time i wanted to play games like grand theft auot 4 and five. but now that im older and can play tohse gmae cuse i can finnaly buy it on my pc wich i dint have when i was a kid
Yes true, although look at the title of the video and you will understand that this is about titles that didnt really have a competitve edge on the DS in comparison to their console counterparts, in short those titles havent justified their existence and in this platform because they didnt provide a worthwhile experience, in most cases, although havent played most of the presented games i could understand why those releases could be underwhelming for their supposed audience
Well why should they. First off, the game looks ugly as fuck. The original had a style that was iconic. When I think of Mario in the late 90s. The original Mario 64 modal comes up. Secondly. The game’s characters suck. It would’ve been fine if they just had Mario and Luigi. But to have three characters and each power up split in-between the characters. It’s sucks. #GoPlayTheOriginal

Yeah, I think Conner kind of dropped the ball with this video halfway through. I mean, he complains about call of duty looking like Goldeneye in a system that's pretty much a portable N64. And what did he say? That touch controls don't work to aim? What? The DS's touchscreen is pretty much the second most precise way to aim ever... right after the mouse.

Maybe the title should be "Bad Nintendo Games, that were done better on other consoles" Cause i am only up to Chinatown wars, and so far the games have not been ports, specially chinatown wars, it was made completely from scratch for the DS, then ported to things like the vita and so on. But its a DS game from start to finish lol.
I thought for sure it was going to be something else but when he said China time wars I was like really Connor?! really?! The COD games are one thing but challenging words is actually the best you could hope for with the system like the DS. Don't get me wrong it's not perfect but for what it is it's really not bad at all.
The DS era of games is honestly so nostalgic for me. Playing Pokémon White and Fossil Fighters on my chrome pink DS Lite for hours on end while my two friends from my Girl Scout troop watched... Those were good times.
I played the demo of Mario Odyssey at Walmart and I HATED the analog stick. I hated how freely it let's you walk around, and even in smash bros I sometimes get frustrated by it. I personally think a D-pad is WAY better for a 3d platformer based on my own experience with SM64DS

So I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion and such. However, I just have a few things I want to point out. The Call of Duty games on the DS was developed by N-Space. They're not exactly "ports", but their own games separate from the console/PC games. And they're not ALL that bad, especially the last two CoD on DS. And yes, four out of five of them does indeed have/had online play. Also Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is definitely not a port at all, it is it's own game. Although the music selection could've been better, I agree. But given the fact that the entire map of Chinatown Wars is almost one-to-one with the Liberty City from Grand Theft Auto IV, and the hardware that they're working with, I think it's MORE than forgivable. Overall, Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars may not be for everyone. On the other hand, to those that enjoy the game would probably rank it amongst the top 25 Nintendo DS games of all time.
I'm here to make observations of the video Call of Duty DS ports: The DS' hardware is 32 bit, so don't expect HD graphics here. Also playing with the stylus is better than using the PSP buttons for aiming. Grand Thief Auto Chinatown Wars: This is not a port of any GTA, just a new entrie. Also the missions are not just about driving and/or kiling. Super Mario 64 DS: You cannot judge a game just based on the first impressions.
SMH... GTA Chinatown Wars is legit good! The mini games you did to sell drugs and hotwire cars were surprisingly fun for me. SmackDown vs Raw 2010 on DS is also pretty good, too. That game's season mode is really deep and it puts more recent wrestling games to shame.
the call of duty games on the ds got higher scores than the call of duty game on the vita also gta chinatown wars is a great game just because you don't like it doesn't mean its not a good game. also music in gta on the ds not being real music has nothing to do with nintendo. not fair to say the graphics are bad when the ds power leveis only somewhere between the n64 and GameCube
@@taru6342 One can say the same for anyone who complains about graphics in general and think you absolutely NEED 1080p-8k and creepy realistic looking characters on everything we watch or play. Graphics aren't everything on a game tbh. As long as you can play the damn game and you can see what you're doing it's fine. If grass 6 really mattered the Atari wouldn't still be popular.
At least it's better than taking a DS game built completely around two screens and porting it to a single-screened system where it just doesn't look or play quite right. **looks at TWEWY Switch**
Chinatown wars was a good game :( they took the technical limitations and did something with it. But it is a matter of opinion, and I might just be a weirdo.
Fun fact, Call of Duty on the Wii still has working online multiplayer today, no need to hack your console. Yes, you can't play Mario Kart Wii online anymore but god damn we need to keep CoD working online!
And those complaints don't even cover the biggest problem of Mario 64 DS, which is that the map shows you where the stars are located. Completely taking away any sense of exploration that allowed the original game's vast, open stages to be interesting.
I remember watching my friend play black ops on DS during a school assembly and thinking it was so cool. I was a sheltered child for the first 10ish years of my life, so any game with a T or M rating was something to behold in my eyes
I actually liked cod on ds, it was pretty cool to play it on the bus and do multiplayer. It is hard to go back to though. It was a birthday gift, I smiled and accepted it. I kinda messed up the outer shell of the game because I inserted it into my action replay and plugged in the usb into the pc while I had it turned on, it melted the outside case but it's still works.

I remember being so disappointed with MySims on the DS. I played the Wii version first, which was a game where you could build furniture and houses and such. I went into the DS version expecting the same or at least something similar, but it ended up feeling like just a worse version of Animal Crossing.
and Conner chinatown wars was really good if u have played all of the versions from psp to mobile the DS release was the first edition and it was supposed to feel familiar to GTA players from the very first installment
Nsmb DS was the first game I ever played. Sonic Classic Collection is one of my favorites as well. I had Castlevania Portrait of Ruin, but I never got far as a kid. Now after beating SotN, I have more confidence. Still, I've really enjoyed replaying my DS games, and revisiting ones I hadn't played as much has been a real fun and nostalgic experience, which I think is a feeling that a lot of people get.
Ya the DS was so trash no game of that time could be downgraded enough to make the DS able to run it. Maybe next time Nintendo, try to be only 5 years behind the competition instead of 10.
Prince of Persia the fun runing, platform and puzzle game we all love became a completely different game on the DS. "Battles of Prince of Persia" a turn-based tactics game combined with collectible card game elements that wasn't that good IMO.
What? N-no! Chinatown wars was made for the DS, and it's pretty good. And downhill jam was a trip back to the original game's downhill levels, and was one of the best handheld games in the series
Not really a port but apparently Assassin's Creed Altair's Chronicles for the DS is pretty weird from what I heard. Honestly, it looks like if you slapped an Assassin's Creed skin on Super Mario 3D Land.
It's kind of a shame that Luigi fans have to wait to unlock him late in the game in Super Mario 64 DS... It's a good thing I'm a Yoshi fan, because you get him immediately. :D
Chinatown Wars is super amazing! That game wasn't a port, was a game made specially for DS, sure, the audio wasn't pleasant, but the rest of the game sure was total 🔥, but that's my opinion, if you didn't like it, then that's ok
