someone said this song is what separate the "just pretend" listeners and "dethrone" listeners.

At least the band wrote Bad Omens X Poppy rather than Bad Omens Ft. Poppy. To me the X means a full collaboration which in this case is totally justified. If Poppy were labelled as a feature, The layout would still make sense but “ft.” would seem more fitting if she only had a few lines.

Johnny was definitely right with the "tik tok crowd" thing, i think most of these shittalkers are just entitled tiktokkers who only listen to Just pretend, and they wanted more of that and now that they didn't get their candy, they are being hysteric.

I LOVE this track. It's brilliant and different and shows evolution which is what all bands should do. Noah produced it, so he is involved, but imo it's about the band being shown as more than just the front man. Noah is still very very present in the song, but his 'absence' makes us look at the song itself more. Bad omens constantly challenge what it means to be in the metal genre and I'm here for it. Poppy is fantastic and needs to be recognised for it. Big love for this song

Bad Omens is currently touring in europe with poppy and I saw one of their recent shows, and V.A.N was so awesome! Poppy has a great voice and this song hits live really hard

I was disappointed at first when I realized there were none of Noah's vocals, but the song has def grown on me. This still sounds like Bad Omens. If people havent figured it out yet. These guys love to experiment. The people saying this isn't Bad Omens due to the lack of Noah's vocals on this song....#1 you act like all the songs are going to be this way. #2 That is such a slap in the face to Jolly, Nicholas and Nick. All are freaking SICK at their craft and can play the shit out of their instruments. Between some of the fans of BO and also the incident with Sleep Token. People need to get a freaking grip! They aren't here to write what you want to hear. As a musician you write what you feel and for yourself. A form of expression. These guys can write what they want for them and pump out great songs at the same time. Lucky for us! Stop being so critical and enjoy the music! As Always....loved the reaction Nath and Johnny!

There is a live version of this song from Germany recorded by someone and Noah is in the background and eventually contributes to the vocals its a good recording also!!

I’ll be honest, I didn’t know what to think of the song at first, but it grew on me the more I listened to it. I respect the fact that he removed himself from the vocals to likely make a point that the band is a group effort just like any other band. Without the talented other 3 members, they wouldn’t BE Bad Omens.

Song is an absolute banger. A band is more than the lead singer just listen to it.

I watched bad omens live on sunday and monday in cologne and the live performance was absolutely awesome once again. That being said, that live version of V.A.N. with Poppy had the crowd go wild ... I guess not all bad omens fans are idiots :)

I had never heard of Bad Omens before this and I only knew Poppy from those weird "I'm Poppy" vids from a few years ago. I heard about 5 seconds of this song on TikTok and immediately searched it and now it's on my playlist and I listen to it over and over. I'm obsessed. It's so good.

This song is sick. And I think it's cool that Noah (vocally) isn't on there, and every bad comment from a salty BO fan reinforces that.

This song introduced me to Poppy and I absolutely LOVE this song. I normally don’t like some women screaming but it reminds me of how Noah sang DOPOM- the angel/demon mix of soft then scream/darker. Loveeeed it! Her ‘spoken’ parts remind me of Savage Garden’s ‘I Want You’ which I absolutely loveeeed when I was a kid. I love that this song really highlighted how great the band is without Noah’s vocals. Absolutely great band and I feel like Noah really allowed his band to shine with this song- they do in all song but just particularly this one given Noah isn’t the main vocals/any vocals minus one small sentence. ❤

I’ve seen Poppy live twice since 2018 and I can’t confirm that her vocals are that layered.

This track is awesome. The thing I find interesting is that the Spotify version is actually an extra minute longer with an extra chorus and a fade out and chug out. And then the live performance in Germany has Noah joining in at times with Poppy.

There is a Released video from Berlin where Poppy sings this one Live with Bad Omens, Noah is doing backups and it's fucking sick! i think they will have features on this song from other bands they tour with when doing it live and i wouldn't actually mind if bad Omens made the whole next album "Bad Omens X *insert vocalist here*" throughout to really show that hey the rest of the band is Bad Omens. and since Noah is the one producing everything and doing all the Synths and FX together with Jolly he will for sure be there for the whole process.

I think it’s a refreshing way to do a collab. Plus, when they do it live - Noah joins in. They need to get over it. It’s a good song

Found you through this song. Grew up on Master of puppets with a strict "Only metal" and complexity based mentality. Spread out in the 90s and I haven't really come back to metal until recently. I loved your considered opi ions and really your whole encompassing vibe. I can't say I was a fan of poppy or new Omens before, but because of this song I found myself going down a two-fold rabbit hole. Good music is anything that makes you feel something and hopefully connect with other people who feels something similar. And through that realize that we're not alone. These artists get up there and scream into the void, and sometimes if they're lucky it screams back

This song has been stuck in my head since release - I love it so much! This is such a Bad Omens song too. If you listen to TDOPOM, this fits right in with songs like What Do You Want From Me and Artificial Suicide and stuff like that. Absolutely agree with you guys! And yes, Noah wrote, mixed and produced everything for this song so he still plays a significant role - for those complaining 😂 They've also been playing it on their current tour as Poppy is supporting 😊 I am here for this song though, it is one hell of a vibe, and I love that they're going to release a bunch of collaborations with other artists. Bring on more!

I think this track is so good! She performed it live and hit those higher inflections which is cool. She also had a hand in directing the video.

Just to go with what johnny was saying, after the opening chorus thingy, the line is "isn't strange to create something that hates you?" That line immediately hit me as a shot to all of the rabid stans who get triggered so easily. You know, like Noah not being on the song, and people getting pissed.

I can tell you, it sounds live almost the same. in terms of vocal switches, styles. saw them last monday. amazing show. not the biggest Poppy fan. but you got to give it to her. she gave a solid show.

The people upset Noah isn't on this track are completely missing the point of the song, while also proving the point. Just read the lyrics, the song is talking about AI. The instrumentals sound similar to their last album, because it's an amalgamation of songs from TDOPOM. 2:35 in V.A.N is straight sampled from "Concrete Jungle." I'm convinced this song is symbolic of an "AI" generated Bad Omens song. Someone threw TDOPOM into an "AI" and then put "AI vocals" (Poppy) over top.

i was happy with the original song and its vibes but after seeing them perform live with Noah adding some support vocals and the odd growl it really sells the song, hopefully they release an official live version with him on it as its hard going back to this version now.

At first I was turned off by the kind of robotic vocals but then I realised it was probably intentional to go with the AI theme. It's really quite brilliant. And I love the heavy parts.

I have generally been impressed each time I hear music from Poppy so this was fine. Followed Nath on Spotify but can’t see that playlist, really getting into the heavy synth stuff after checking out Silent Planets new album so was hoping to find the playlist XD.

For one I dig the song. But also from what it all sounds like this will be on the Concrete Forever Special Edition which will be lots of remixes and collabs from what has been said so fits in perfectly

Jumping in here at the end. I 100% think if you were to take a track of DOPOM and take vocals off, the sound matches, the production is the same. So im super excited to have this growth from them. My bummer thought is i hate all the girlies that have jumped on the Noah train because of TT. I feel like if they were introduced to Noah at their title album they wouldnt jump so hard. I miss the depth we got from Dethrone and Blood, but understand the need for change. If people cannot support and respect the name of the band and the sound they are producing, they can leave. I personally love it and i cannot wait to see Folio kill this in future concerts!

What I really appreciate in Noah is the fact that he's a really a nice and down-to-earth guy. I mean in a way how openly he talks about his fav artists, how he appreciates the talent of other singers and bands. I think this collab is a wholesome moment of appreciation for his bandmates and Poppy. Maybe he wanted to hear his own band with female vocals and she seems to be a good choice because of her scene personality of some type of android girl with sweet and clean voice and the screaming blood-lusting creature inside. he develops kinda the same concept in his bladerunner-ish lore (see artificial video with electricity running throuh his body and stuff). I believe that first reaction was just a shock of those blinded "only Noah" fans. Totally agree that the band is very vocal-oriented (let's admit that when people want you to react on their stuff first of all they want you to hear Noah's voice), but it's a good chance to break this belief and show the whole team. Now with the course of time more reasonable people gave a chance to the song and as i see it recieved the necessary amount of appreciation.

Someone said that "no one hates Bad Omens more than their so-called fans" and the reactions I've seen even here on youtube kind of make me agree with that 😩 so many people reacting to this song going "this is poppy ft. bad omens because where is noah?!" as if... Noah didn't produce it? as if Noah doesn't do the electronics? as if there aren't 3 other INCREDIBLY TALENTED musicians? like i love watching live performances of this just because Folio SHINES on the drums in this song!! plus the bass line???? so fucking excellent and people are criticizing this because what...???
