love greg love the whole band i saw them 5 times in show and talked to them and all my respects go out to you guys and greg should run for office greg graffin for president hell ya
i think that someone fiddled with the pitch...@grumpdy The song is called "do what you want" not superman xD and it goes "hey, I dont know if the billions will survive, but I'll belive in god when 1 and 1 are 5"
BR should create project with songs like that. It would be amazing stuff. I have to admit I listen to it more, recently than to my all bloved punk rock songs of Yours I wish You also inevitable new great punk "strangerthan fiction"-style album soon
FattyMateo nope... I got the point. Thanks for the concern, all the same. Were you really laughing so hard that you were crying? Or was that an exaggeration (a.k.a. a lie)?
I wish they would sing the backup vox live like they do on the records. Does Greg do the backup vox on the record and the backup singers can't do them live?
The "evidence of genes" part that appears in the official lyrics of this song doesn't seem to be actually mentioned. Neither here nor in the original studio recording. Did anybody else notice that?
@grre77 Greg's no atheist. Contrary to popular belief, he does not identify himself as an atheist, but chooses to identify as a naturalist. And the band itself is less about anti-theism than simply using religion as a metaphor that doesn't allow for an individual's freedom to think or express themselves as they choose.
Here's a story of an honest man losing religion Climbing the pulpit steps before an eager congregation While praying came a wicked inspiration Brothers, sisters, this is what he said Dearly beloved, dearly beloved, dearly beloved (make no mistake, despite our traits, I've seldom seen) I can't relate to you (I can't relate to you) I can't relate to you He was the kind of guy who'd always go right out of his way But more before the crazy notion leapt right into his head And stubbornly crept into every mad perception I can't deny a funny feeling when he said Dearly beloved, dearly beloved, dearly beloved (make no mistake, despite our traits, I've seldom seen) I can't relate to you (I can't relate to you) I can't relate to you Dearest in memoriam, set phasers to stun And grab yourself a neighbor's skeleton to lean upon Did you know him in life, one filled with regret? So soon we all forget we ever met Do you know my name? Sing a light refrain For a man estranged I won't deny that I'm inclined to isolate Dearly beloved, dearly beloved, dearly beloved (I can't believe) I can't relate to you, I can't relate to you (I can't relate to you, I can't relate to you) I can't relate to you, I can't relate to you (I can't relate to you)
"remember when they get saved you heard it here first" Hate to break it to you, but this isn't my first time hearing stupid shit from delusional people, least of all Christ-punching. Next time you could try something like "Bad Religion will be writing songs about how there's a giant copy of the Mona Lisa's face on the surface of Saturn, and she speaks to us in Portuguese about the wonders of cheese-making!" At least then you'd be original.
