The actual meaning is that he changed himself (or as the song states, "killed" himself) so his crush/partner/etc. would love him. He didn't actually kill anyone, but as an expression he killed his past self.

This was written before I watched the video fully Who I think the mystery characters are -Demon Unlust -Geno Player / Frisk (being controlled by Geno Player) -Chara Edit : well I wasn’t completely wrong with Chara, it’s just X-Tale! Chara instead of UT! Chara. Also I feel Team fallen wins, mainly cause of the songs. ‘If I killed someone for you’, ‘Paralyzed’, ‘Shatter me’ and ‘Every color you like’. But of course, I do love ‘Childish war’ it’s one of my favorites!
