They know what they’re doing, raises prices gives us poor choices and makes us pay for things we actually want. Yes it’s more for your $$ compared to Sephora etc but WTF I loved this box bc I didn’t have to pay more than $30 a month now I’m adding an extra $20+ per box a month from add-ons 😵💫😵💫😵💫🤕
Finally someone is actually saying what I’m talking about! So tired of paying higher prices for no brand brands. We had almost exactly the same choices and I thought it was a joke 😆 I’m like these choices can’t be right. Oh welll… I picked the Nabla eyeliner, almost picked the gloss. The icon box better be fab 😂 that’s all I have to say. Thanks for keeping it real.
Agreed. Between the crummy choices lately and the lackluster add ons that could have made my bag better, I’m bummed. I’m holding out for the February Icon box but I’m honestly getting a little bored with my Ipsy bags. 😢
I wasn't blown away but I was also happy to see it wasn't all skincare since the theme is Glowing Up or whatever. My boost was what got me, a microcurrent facial device for $15? Yes please!
I skipped January for prices being brought up Ipsy is lacking. I want to see the extra $ we are being charged in products. Let's see what Feb brings and if worth accepting or skipping. Miss old Boxy so much better.
Didn’t love my choices this month either. They did choose the Ofra pallet for me so I’d love to see a tutorial or two even with that if you do have it in your stash. I love it when creators do two eye looks in the same video. TFS! 💜
Omg yes! I agree my choices were meh as well but that discouraged me from buying addons and i put money aside to buy some but I refuse to buy anything if my paid box choices sucked.

So I must agree with you on that I didn’t get good options for my glam bag nor for my boxycharm so disappointed that I had to spend much more on add ons just to get good products. Not fair especially with the pricing being more. I’ve Been With Ipsy and Boxycharm for years way before they merged and I feel Ipsy keeps raising the prices a little too often in my opinion. They need to do better!
I've been noticing that too. For the last couple if months I've seen spoilers with things that I'm hoping to get in my box, but instead I just see them for sale in the store. Between that and all the stuff in the points store showing up in monthly subscription boxes after it doesn't sell in the points store, it's getting a little ridiculous.
I did shop at the store and picked up a couple One Size brow pencils, the scalp scrub, a shower body scrub, and the Laneige lip mask. Mostly restock stuff
My choices were awful and I'm so sick of brown eyeshadow. I say in my profile that I don't like browns and they keep sending me brown! I got that Ofra palette as a power pick.
I did receive the Ofra pallet as a power pick and a mascara, but I agree I just picked things I figured I would use rather than things I was excited to try.

Hi Gorgeous! Our choice products were very similar! I picked the brow product, brushes and another set of brushes!! Power pick was Ren and Rodial Mascara. I purchased a few things that I would find at Sephora. ABH, DM, Too Face bronzer and Miss Pat's Mascara 🤷♀️. I saw your try-on of the Rodial Mascara and decided to pick up one that I am very certain I will love. I was not at all impressed with choice at all this month!! January and February are usually pretty bad months for me when it comes to my choice products. They always send me tons of skincare 😢. The boost product is what saved my box. $179.00 skincare tool! My power picks were the abh concealer and the ofra palette!! I was pleased with that. My selections however, were slightly underwhelming....ended up going with the realher setting spray, some brushes, and the laura Mercier cavier stick!
I agree with you, I started back up with boxy this month, thinking it might be better since they’ve raised the prices, they might give us better products, disappointed! The add-ons were better than my choices, and the choices they gave me are companies I’ve never heard of But the add-ons were the premium products which we should’ve gotten. I think I made a mistake rejoining.

But I think I'll try subscribing to the Ice Cream Beauty bag. If I want anything from Ipsy, I could always shop their add on so from the Boxycharm by Ipsy. 😊 I really enjoy these videos and have tutorials from a makeup artist! My power picks were pretty good. They chose Glow Recipe Sunscreen & Ofra Palette. As for my choice options, I had exactly the same as you. I chose the Dew of the Gods moisturizer, Sweet Chef (LOVE THEIR SERUMS!) & Farrah primer (heard it was pretty good). My power pick was the facial toning device
Very disappointing, Been paying 35.37.. Products seem redundant. Been with Ipsy and Boxy for years. WTH! I can't stop yet. Thank you for keeping us updated.
I personnally had the same issue with the choices. i just did inventory on my makeup and i didnt need any moisterizers and the ones they had, had ingredients i couldnt use. i got the lip gloss, cheek and highlighter and the double lip liner. I got the ren c cream as well and a doctors face scrub, their picks. I would say we are all getting the same picks with some minor variations.
I was so disappointed too. As for the beauty boost. $15 was worth it for the tool, but they need more options. There should be high end MAKEUP options every time. If there is not something totally amazing next month I am removing that and may downgrade to just glam bag.
Hi Girl I literally got the same items as you. I completely agree the made the shop way more exciting 😡 which of corse is a strategy to make us spend more! For several months I have felt like they have not gone off of my profile at all and I have been getting repeat choices I'm going to give ipsy one last chance with the icon box next mouth we'll see what happens🤷♀️
I got the same Power Picks as you and today while at Ulta swatched ABH Magic Touch concealer is shade 7 that Ipsy picked for me and as suspected it’s way too light for my olive light-medium skin tone. I need 9. Can’t wait to see what shade you get and whether it works for you. What pisses me off the most is that knowing that concealer might be an option for Jan box, I changed my profile to “all skincare”. That plus I wanted to maximize my chances of getting a Glow Recipe sunscreen, which I didn’t but that’s part of life with subscription boxes.
I love the ABH concealer! I got a sample in an Ipsy bag, just finished it and ordered a full size through Amazon for $30. Then, of course, they had it for $12 on add-ons! So I got another one.. 😆 I might give it to my mom, though. She's looking for a good concealer. 😊
I chose 2 sets of brushes bc the other choices weren't very exciting to me. That's kinda sad. Bc im sorry but they ended last year with a luxe box with Pat McGrath, so they should've started this year with something to rival that imho. Love your videos darlin.
I agree with you as well Yari The options weren't great. I did get the Wingme brushes the Half caked Lip gloss duo the Serpahine Botanicals blushes as well as the Ofra pallet and ABH concealer* With the add ons I did get the Elf Lip stains in add ons I thought it was a full size . I got the Ofra palette as a power pick the the context skin, Nabla liner, and the Laura Mercier. Thankful I got the Ofra as a power pick but I definitely agree that the add ons were better than the box itself. If they don't get on the ball I will have to cancel. I already had to pause for like 4 months or so at the end of last year because it got soooo repetitive.
The Nabla cupids arrow crayon is so good. But I know you have the Laura caviar stick but it would have been cool to see your opinion on it. But it's your box girl I'm just saying. ❤

My choices were not exciting either ugghhhh! And yes mostly skin care and where are the top name brands? Like hello Ipsy!!! You did say with the price increase it lets us feature more top name brands. And yaassss girl the good stuff was in the add ons again! So not cool Ipsy! And the last couple of months stuff that is in the points section is then in the boxes the next month. Like are you flipping serious??? That Rodial mascara…yup in the points section last month along with that Nabla black eyeliner that was in yours and my choices. And there was something else I can’t remember. But ummm ya! I really truly hope they kill it next month with it being the Icon box! Cuz if not I think I might cancel and find something else. Thanks for your honest opinion Yari. I got the ofra palette as a power pouch however all of my choices were basically the same as yours and I know our profiles are completely different as we have different hair color, eyes, skin tone etc… so I’m starting to think they aren’t even going by our profiles. The price increase is ridiculous compared to what they are offering. Also there are times we are getting old product, broken products and products we specifically requested not to get.
I got the Ofra as my first power pic. Wanted the glow recipe, was not even a choice to purchase. Did find the Miami pallet for $7, that was a steal. Found some great items cheap, went back again gone or price changed, no clue
My choices were about the same as yours so do they really go by your profile? I mean as far as shades yes but the choice products no. I did get the ofra palette picked for me and a mascara but I completely agree with you Yari why r the better brands in the add ons we keep paying more $ but the brands have not changed. Got almost the same choices as yours. I was thinking the same thing. They up the prices saying we would get better selection of products/brands. What they haven’t said is that we will get those brands better offerings as add ons and a worse box choice. I am very disappointed and I will have to skip months during 2024 or just cancel if it goes on like that. I think January 2024 is the worst box I got in over 5-6 years.
Yes…my experience is hopefully I get 2 or 3 things that I would have purchased as $12 add ons…but much is ok or another backup… I refuse to buy most $12 add ons because often the items come up again in 2-6 months and maybe I can pick it as a choice item then
Two of my choices included brushes. And the brushes were the most exciting items. Definitely disappointed with that. But I did get the Ofra palette chosen for me.
I have the Boxycharm boost and I feel like I got some of the best of the worst box. I got this one device as my boost item that's like $195 I think ... Very expensive. And the Ofra pallette was one of the items selected for me. I wasn't as excited but I guess it could've been worse ...
I was SO let down by my choices for December AND JANUARY! I also logged on early on the 1st as to get all my choices, but AGAIN I only had 3 choices in two of my choice spots! What is going on there??
I told Ipsy that when Joe had Boxycharm it was always an eyeshadow palette in the box and was expected and they sent me a rinky dink eyeshadow palette.... I thought ok, something would change and it has not every time and when they put it in the store to pay extra and on top of it the cost has jumped up more.... Yeah, I have already cancelled some other accounts.
Same choices for add ons as you including Drunk Elephant products. I did receive the Ofra palette as a Power Pic though. This was not a great box. It is almost as if they want us to spend our money in the shop purposely.

So my 2 power picks were pretty good. The main one was Glow Recipe Niacinamide Glow SPF50 Sunscreen and I'm very happy with her. The other one is something I have already which is Doctor's Scrub by Gold MacFaden and i LOVE the brand and the results from her and her family. 😂 My choices were the same as yours and I thought the same as you as far as " these SUCK!?!" This clear brow gel and lip liner ish are NOT exciting products or anything that should be in our BOXYCHARM!!! I loathe that Boxycharm ( the company) is no more! I've been with both Boxycharm and Ipsy since the very beginning ( 2012) and they've come a long way. But the choices for January were not anything to write home about! I picked the Laura Mercier Kiss from a rose liquid shadow caviar stick, F A.R.A.H Smooth Face Primer bc I'm a Primer junkie, and the Feel Beauty Squalene Facial Oil.
I'm ok with the choices. Not the most exciting. I got the blush palette, the brushes, the Kompari, the Saturday skin and the contour. I'm excited for the boost. The dermalactives machine. Can't wait foe that
I got the exact same choices as u except my power picks were amazing they gave me the ofra pallette and a lys mascara choices were not great at all this time. But ipsy shop has ofra for 7 dollars!!
I hated the choice items this month. I subscribe to 2 Ipsy boxes, and I got the same powerpicks in both boxes which was that Ofra signature pallet and Lys mascara. I then spent $30 in add-ons, but I wish they had the Glow Recipe sunscreen as an add-on. Really think I'm going to cancel one of my subscriptions because it is just now worth it anymore. Boxycharm was better.
I only get the glam bag and then I take advantage of add ons and the shop, to get what I like and want. The ipsy by boxycharm just isn't worth it to me. I always find myself choosing add ons and products in the shop, if it's something I really want, and just purchasing them there. So, I only do the glam bag to have access to the other ways to purchase. But that's me.
So I had nearly identical choices in all 3 categories- w/ the exception of the volition mask which k would have LOVED! and wasn’t even available in add-ons which is funny… but I digress… i rate my products and update preferences every month- and my profile is super specific to skincare… so that’s funny… I think I’m gonna cancel and find something else- or else pay for the glam bag and just get the products I want from add-ons bc Ipsy boxy has been horrible since it acquired boxy… as far as the power picks- it looks like they’re pre-paired by Ipsy to a set combined price point and the only curation is which combo matches your profile enough that you can’t get so p’d off that you’d cancel the membership 😂 but not remotely enough that you won’t pay for add ons just so that you have something to look forward to when the box comes… sorry for the rant but it’s really just gotten so bad, and from seeing all the unboxings here on other soc. med., and choice posts- it seems most people are getting mostly the same choices as I am- but from profiles that are makeup heavy, so it clearly isn’t curated anymore… last thing I’ll say is- to your point- the worst part is that the last 4+ months I’ve seen my power picks get worse and worse, with the best products being in add-ons, and at least 3 months the products I wanted the absolute most weren’t even available there for me- it’s infuriating… anyway, thanks for your honesty and giving me a place to rant 😂
I didn't care for my choices or what they chose for me. Actually, the past few months I haven't cared for either. It's as if they're not even looking at the long profile I filled out and will periodically update. What happened to the "We're increasing our prices to give you bigger, better, and more popular brand name products" that they said in the email that was sent? Hopefully February's box is better
I really thought they had better add ons than choices. I did buy some and then remembered drop shop coming up next week, and I can't shop it anymore since I grabbed over forty dollars of addons for my budget. :(
With the price increase the last few months haven't been very good. I still like Ipsy but they need to upgrade their game. I get the Boost and got the microcurrent device. I already have a couple microcurrent devices but I want to try it.
I think i am canceling my subs this year. The only places they have decent brands are on their sales pages. It's sad when u pay that sub money, and the only value out of it requires you to purchase more!
In Canada it's $30 for glam bag and $70 for the box...not worth it anymore unless they come out with better products I can't justify spending that money
This is exactly why I cancelled---what happened to the Natasha Denona/ABH palettes, Tarte items, Elemis, and other name brands. I was tired of getting mid level skin care options with lip glosses, brow gels and eye/lip liner choices--it's just so underwhelming----No FOMO here!!!
This month sucked! Making me think about cancelling cuz it felt intentional. They had shades in the store but not in the choices that makes no sense at all. So I also didn’t purchase anything. Btw! Allure was bomb for January.
I agree there amazing items are only for sale nothing wowed me I redeemed a hair product from points because it was going to expire only to see that they are sending me the same one in Jan bag can’t get a hold of anyone from care to respond back
