As a teen we'd throw open parties that lasted days sometimes a week. People were cool nobody stole nothing, everybody was cool. You couldn't do that today!
George Harrison helped Badfinger get started, and now he’s gone forever !! George is gone and Badfinger is gone, but their music lives on forever and ever and will be enjoyed by countless generations of music fans for many centuries to come. ❤❤😊😊
I was in the River Side casino Laughlin Nevada when Tiny Tim opened for Badfinger in the mid 90s My wife and I were the only table in the whole room and these guys actually talked to us ROCK ON BROTHERS!!!
In 1993 Tiny Tim performed in Decatur, Illinois, at the now defunct Decatur Celebration. He started with the traditional Tiptoes Through the Tulips but was having some difficulties.. He explained that he was having trouble singing in his traditional high falsetto confessedly because of age. He then performed a rendition of a number of railroad songs in his rich baritone natural voice. It was wonderful, magical, and unforgettable. When he was done, he stayed at the stage and met every child and parent who wanted to see him. It was a beautiful and moving time to see Tiny Tim, Herbert Khaury, giving his time and outpouring of love to these children. I will never forget this. He died in 1996. Never ever will I forget Tiny Tim spending time with those children.
@Nomadcreations They were known to be like that with fans. My musician friend met, and had a long talk with Tommy when they both played at a Chicago night club in '82, the year before Tommy's suicide. He said he couldn't have been nicer, and very easy to talk to.
@burton48 I was driving a truck down 10th Ave in NYC and Tiny Tim was in a horse and buggy. I was shocked because I never seen a star in person started yelling to him and low and behold he was so surprised to see a fan. He was very nice about it!
Sh!t I love this song. I forgot how good it was and how much meaning it brought to my life in 1972. Even though I was only 12, the chicks liked me. How different it is today. I wish my grandson could experience the same life we had back in the early 70's. That rascal has to navigate a very crazy world that provides limited value, much sorrow and a lot of confusion. My grandpa died in 1971, a Great War vet. He missed out.
love my memories associated with this song and group. So glad, I spent my younger years with these 'BAD' groups in the main genre....never tire of listening to them. A special moment in the time of my life.😀🥰
I can't over the fact that this song was not released as a single in the UK in 1972, when I was 17. I never knew of it's existence until nearly 50 years later!
One of the best songs ever, long live Rock-'n'-Roll, it was sad how all this turned out, two band members committed suicide, and their manager ripped them off badly, God Bless!
I was 13 when this song came out. I had no real idea what he was singing about but i loved the guitar. I rediscovered this several years ago when I heard a cover of it performed by Matthew Sweet and Suzanna Hoffs and i fell right back into those easy teen years. And yes that special love, as I said goodbye to my wife as I lost her that year.
I am so sorry about your wife, but it's amazing that you got to experience a love like that. I hope all the wonderful memories you shared with her bring you comfort. 🙏
@@barryj3266 Then you are doubly blessed! You must be over the moon. I'm still looking for my special guy. God bless you and all who love with all their hearts!
I HAVE LOVED BADFINGER IN THIS LIFE, PAST LIVES, AND FOREVER❣️. JOEY, GREAT MEETING YOU IN FLINT TWO SUMMERS AGO❣️ YES, I GET THE FEELING YOU TRIED AND YES I WANT TO BE BY THE SIDE OF MY LOVE.
I was 10 when this came out and too young to buy the album. Loved the harmony and vocals!!. Truly a very sad story getting fucked over by their management. These guys couid have been huge, should have been huge!
They were discovered and signed by the Beatles to Apple Records! They could have been just as popular and famous but life has a way of destroying dreams!
I grew up in the 1970s, listening to an enormous amount of The Beatles and Badfinger, and while McCartney was indeed all over this band, musically, that was a bit of a blessing and a curse (IMHO). In other words, Peter Ham (God rest his soul) was so heavily influenced by The Beatles, that sadly, it would not allow him to truly create his own, original, unique, innovative sound. When you listen to this, or "Day After Day," it almost sounds/seems like Peter was subconsciously trying to sound like McCartney. It also didn't help matters very much that The Beatles' own engineer and manager produced Badfinger, and even recorded some of their works at Abbey Road Studios. This band will go down in the history books as one of the saddest stories to come out of the past 60+ years of rock music. They deserved so much better, even if they weren't the most original or unique-sounding band.
@@user-nu3du9ty5s Macca wrote n played on only one song for Badfinger Thier 1st hit "Come n Get It" other than that it was George who produced part of their album "Straight Up"n played a slide guitar duet on "Day After Day"with Pete Ham n again playing HCTS at The Concert For Bangladesh together
Too sad that the Beatles Apple records let them down and their manager stole m8llions from them. Pete Ham and 1 other member hung themselves due to getting so screwed.
Love everything about this group, this song, sooooo many memories..one of my favorite groups..awesome drums in this one...love them! I wanted to be a drummer..sadly..i didnt go forward with it.. 😞
Where is that quote from, or did you write that. Nice poetic words. : the flowers in Heaven never die. Step on them & they pop back up with more “power.”
this always make me think of Walt (Breaking Bad) dead....on the floor ...after watching him for years.....never mind that I used to listen to this picking berries in the 60's....."It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" has been covered by Them, Baez and the Byrds. Them's About Them were a Northern Irish rock band formed in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in April 1964, most prominently known for their 1964 garage rock standard "Gloria" and launching Van Morrison's musical career. The original five-member band consisted of Morrison, Alan Henderson, Ronnie Milling, Billy Harrison, and Eric Wrixon. Wikipedia)( version, released in 1966, influenced garage bands during the mid-'60s, and Beck later sampled it for his 1996 single "Jack-Ass". The Byrds recorded the song twice in 1965

I like Badfinger and have always enjoyed this song, but I think Bob Dylan's "It's All Over Now Baby Blue." It's much darker, musically and lyrically, but Badfinger's song was still an excellent choice.
Great Band, again, & read about the Crap they Wrongly Went Thru, Wiki & googlit.. & RIP Tom, Pete, Mike!!! Joey Still Doing a Tribute Band Circuit In memory Of His lost Comrads
doesn't need to be extended. the original version is to the point and gives the song a finale that hits home harder than hearing the same verses over again
This song is underrated ! It is a great rock ballad that should be up there in all time greatest songs. And never will forget the end of Breaking Bad because of this masterpiece
I'm old school ! I was 14 when this was doing the rounds, but its more popular than ever it was before, cos of the Breaking bad series, But This band Badfinger really were a great band, The guys were destined for destruction, but not due to them, but to the shark manager they signed up to, I wont name him, He does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as these guys.
