It would be great to see more of these unsuccessful locos made for TS like the Class 23/29, Class 28 and the early AC's. The locos that were either test beds/experiments or just bad designs that had short service lives.
Petition to build platforms at Welwyn GC on the fast lines. That way, fast services by GN can call there, and LNER can serve the stop on a limited basis.
They are planning on making class 89’s but they only make it if people show enough interest you can fill a form on rails of Sheffield to show your interest in the class 89
Lovely video as always. I enjoy seeing the HUD in action. I'm not sure how easy it would be to build more tracks just south of Peterborough as the Holme and Conington area are peat bogs and are actually home to the lowest point in the country (2m below sea level). So unstable ground to build on let alone keep running trains on.
Everything about the 89 is outstanding!....Apart from the lights. It makes the whole train look ugly at the same time the lights is the thing that makes it look like a "Badger". So imo if the one thing on the train that makes it look like it's nickname is bad, the whole picture of the train is ruined...Unless of course they change the name...Which I don't have an idea for so I guess we will stay with ugly ol' Badger :D
Would be nice if this 800 EP could also include a headlight patch as the real 800's dont have day/night settings for theyr lights. They have all the lights on at once.
Is the pressure problem a thing even on the non-flat-front trains? Azuma, 90, etc... I ask because I went to Japan recently, and enterring a tunnel at 170mph didn't produce any noticable pressure problems. The problem occured when two trains passed each other, and you were forced to one side, then a few seconds later forced back again, which was really quite violent. I learnt quickly not to lean my head against the window!
I know that, which is why I was curious regarding the more aerodynamic trains, as there was no problem on the Shinkansen at twice the speed that it is apparently a problem in the UK. But going by what you say, maybe it is a difference in tunnel design rather than train design.
Whoever responded to me I just tried that I’m on an iPad it won’t let me access the community page so if you could post in a comment what you’re referring to that would be g
