Absolutely, you have so many amateurs wasting time bashing their keyboards on different forums. All their time is spent fussing over "the best" shoes, racket, string, stringing method, tension etc. Whereas, the pros are on court training
If u have watched the previous videos, you'll see a lot of them doesnt know what gears they're using. Probably bcs either they doesnt care abt the branding as long as it fit their needs, or the brands gives them unpainted racket to test the new products. Even Some players using different rackets painted to look like certain racket. It was to upsell that specific rackets
Kento Momota using an extra stiff racquet with 3UG6 specification (possibly custom made?) and strings at 33x35 lbs tension is really something. Says a lot about his wrist power.
We have the 3UG6 model available here in Hong Kong, both in HK and JP models. But yep given he’s the face of the racket, most likely it’s custom made anyway. That tension is mind blowing lol.
3UG6 AX99 pro with 33x35lbs with that super thick aerobite string, I am still processing to think about it clearly, bruh wtf. Wow. Ahsan also use G6, and he used to modify his previous racket to have smaller grip because G6 was not common in the past. I myself prefer G6 to play with.
33x35 lbs is just crazy. Considering it's an astrox 99 pro and he rarely breaks strings, Momota must've underwent intense shot precision training I guess.
The variety between 3u and 4u among players really does show preference takes priority over conventional wisdom. Pretty surprised Kento is back on 3u after using a 4u 99 before the pro came out. I wonder if it has something to do with the ease of use being better and the succeeding model. And good lord, the tension tension he plays at just shows how amazing his conditioning and technique is.
@@CKYew funny story, the guy who sold me a 99 pro strung it for me with bg80p. I thought we agreed upon 26lbs, and I chalked up the fatigue on my arm to using a harder string than I usually do. Turns out he strung it 30ish lbs! Flattering he thinks i'm a hard hitter w/ that kind of technique, but not there (yet).
Thank you so much for these videos CK YEW! I find it very interesting to know more what equipment the players are using, but usually there is way too little info about it.
Nice video, CK! As for the Momota pre-stretch question, there’s a RU-vid video from German Open 2022 (called “The Art of Stringing a Badminton Racket with Tim Willis (German Open 2022)”) in which Tim Willis says at 4m23s that Momota does NOT ask for his strings to be pre-stretched. 😊
Yonex Custom T-shirt Teamwear Builder: geni.us/customttt Thank you to YC Sports for sponsoring this video. Who's got the bigger calves? Lee Zii Jia or Chou Tien Chen? 🤣🤣
I see TTY I press like 😍 LSJ and CTC thinks the other has bigger calves is funny as well. And Akane keeping a shuttle from the match is cool to hear. Looking forward for more vids like this
Thanks for a great video. It’s very interesting how some players don’t know their racket model but they all know their exact preferred string tension. Also Bing Jiao is very sweet, I think she might have a crush on you 😍
This is good to find out. The majority of players favour Yonex BG80, which is 0.68mm gauge, at 30lbs tension. I use APACS rackets with 0.66mm gauge string at 25lbs tension. I’m old school. Don’t like to string it too tight.
it seems like Japan player mostly have a different tension between the horizontal and vertical, here in Indonesia especially my city it's hard to find a store that can do stringing method like that, anyway thank you for this quality video CK, good luck in the future💪
Oh Wow Akane Yamaguchi with 24x26 lbs on string!? That’s interesting! 😁🎉 I thought pros would prefer higher tension for more solid feel upon shuttle stroke
I always surprised with Japanese players. Many my national player friends told me that some Japanese players use really low tensions 24-28 lbs. And it its TRUE !!!
Awesome to see some insights ! Thanks for the video ( was waiting for this one haha) PV Sindhu is so approachable ! I met her in a restaurant a few years Back when she was playing in France for the IFB and she was really cool 😊 Taï is adorable ! Hope she'll continue to play more years as she was speaking about retiring 🥺
Hi Sir can you make a video explaining the difference between the string tensions. Like why a player string 32-34 or the opposite 34-32. Is there a difference between them.
Hi CK I’m a doubles player who plays more at back of the court. I reckon that I have the strength to play sharp shots but not enough control so I’m wondering if I should get the arcsaber 11 tour or the AX 88D tour or even the duora 10 lcw
The Tours are mid range rackets where as the Duora 10 is a top end racket. They're all good rackets in the end so its down to your own personal preference
Wow a lot of ms player only using 31lbs? I always thought ms players using super high tension like axelsen 😅 and its incredible knowing akane using very stiff racket in 3u weight, she really is small but powerful 👌🏻
@@suryam749 a lot of local intermediate-expert badminton player uses more than 30lbs tension, as a regular people i always thought all the world class men single player using 33+ lbs tension, especially after knowing taufik hidayat, lindan, and axelsen use 34lbs tension
I researched which racket TTY uses, save money for it, test it from my friend, read the reviews, look into different specs, ran shop after shops to find it TTY in this video: "racket??? is it edible??"
Hey had a question for all you string fans. I want to string my 88d pro a little higher, I know that pros are using 32+ with their 4u 88d pros. I was wondering the consequences of stringing maybe 31/29?
high stringing tensions do void your warranty so always proceed with caution. And you'd always want your crosses to have slightly tensions (approx 10% higher) than your mains to ensure frame shape retention
TTY's racket has a gap in the stringbed (lower side). Is it because of the grommet pattern, or she prefers leaving that gap? Any advantage in doing so?
It is a classical way of string the racket with 72 holes. One advantage of shifting a string downward is to bring the sweet zone up, and hence to increase the attacking power.
And it's a ZF Ii limited edition that is only available in china, the golden black (黑金) Indeed she forgot to mention about the other things than her shoes..lol
I usually use astrox 100 game which is a great racket at 28lbs I played with astrox 99 and astrox 100 zz i borrowed them from my training partners and i felt that they were slightly head heavy than my racket i thought that what's the benefit of this racket but when i played with them i felt a energy flowing in racket from handle to head and i felt the difference
I am new to badminton. What does higher tension mean? Is higher tension means the strings will be too stiff? Does it means more tense, less wrist power is needed to apply to deliver the shot? Does it also mean higher tension will increase the wear and tear of string?
Higher tension = stiffer stringbed = requirement for better technique, otherwise strings will break if you mishit and also injuries could happen if you mistime often.
I have heard that Aerobite needs to be changed every 2 months I am planning to use it at 25lbs... Should I go with Lining No 1 instead?? For durability?
