Jack Goh no particular reason. Her father strings her rackets for her, and he learned how to string from an elder man. He didn't ask why he should string like that, and he just continues with the same method he was taught. Some say it will help the upper area of the racket to have higher tension, but some say it doesn't do much difference.

That is political.

My man if you had any idea about the situation going on between the two countries, you'd know that this is obviously not voluntary. It's the same thing with the Olympics. China has such influence in these international sports organizations that they are able to make sure that "the word Taiwan" never appears in any of the athletes' uniforms. Which is why they always say "Chinese Taipei". We do have our own national flag, but like with everything else, anything associated with our "national identity" is strictly prohibited to appear basically anywhere. The symbol that you see our her chest, is only something designed to be "allowed to" appear in international sporting events. The athletes don't talk about it simply because this is something far beyond what they can change and speak about. But still, the whole thing is the result of years of political conflict that goes on even till this day.

It's 100% politics. I'm from Taiwan and I hate the name of Chinese Taipei. It's all because of China. If we refuse to use this name, China will try all they could to keep us out of the game.

Mulinaster Just because it's been going on for a while doesn't mean it's right. In this case, it's obviously wrong and Taiwan should continue to stand strong and assert itself.
