Points to remember when hitting a bag (such as the BOB Bag pictured) when training in the Pekiti-Tirsia system.
1. Keep a slight bend in the elbow joint when striking. Fully straightening the arm puts your elbow joint at risk of injury.
2. When possible, keep the back of your hand parallel with the bones of your forearm when striking.
3. On heel palms, hit low on the palm (i.e. with the heel of the palm).
4. Keep your fingers bent when training an eye jab.
