Jake essentially performed the same in the first game as he did this one. Game 1 - 20 runs on 10 balls, gave up 19 in 1 over. Game 2 - 14 runs on 9 balls, gave up 40 in 2 overs.

Ball is dead, it's not live until the bowler begins their bowling run-up or motion, and the umpire will hold them from doing so until both the striker and non-striker have a fair opportunity to return to their crease after the last ball (including being allowed to converse with each other, inspect the pitch, or even just have a little walk and a breather). Lou was coming back from talking to Dill, Jake had not begun his bowling motion - and even if because of all the funky stuff he was doing he wanted to claim that *was* his run-up and motion, it is the umpire's prerogative to tell him to bugger off.

I can understand people's perspective on Jake being "drunk" (I assume he was just hungover and played into the schtick of everuone saying he was still drunk) but at the end of the day it's a game between friends/coworkers and some cricket players for fun. Show me one amateur adult baseball league where someone has never been hungover and just trying to have fun. Idk just my opinion, no one at the warehouse seemed to be upset, so why should we?

Luke O'Brien almost single-handedly won a game that Baggage had NO business winning. If he keeps up that level of play for the rest of the tournament, and Jake eventually sobers up, they are definitely title contenders.
